CHAPTER 7: CHAPTER 7: MOVING OUT

Coming out of the hospital, Quinn Lockwood took a deep breath, thankful to be rid of that narcissist.

Oh right, she still had important matters to attend to.

"Hello, madam."

Back at the Sinclair Family’s old mansion, a group of servants nodded and bowed to greet her. There’s no denying, the Sinclair Family’s training of their servants is quite thorough, except perhaps their tendency to gossip.

Appearing as Savannah Lowell, Quinn Lockwood still felt a bit unfamiliar. To avoid any slip-ups, she headed upstairs without a word.

"Ugh, what’s so special about her? She acts like someone owes her all the time with that gloomy face."

Servant Ivy complained, ever since this Savannah Lowell moved in, she’s been throwing tantrums left and right, acting all high and mighty. She even wondered why Elias wasn’t interested in her.

"Have you heard? She was up to her antics again yesterday."

Grace glanced in Quinn’s direction while speaking, aware of the risk of badmouthing someone they couldn’t afford to offend.

"What’s up, what’s up?"

Savannah was already the center of gossip, and everyone gathered around with eager faces.

"You saw the news yesterday, right? I heard she orchestrated it herself, leaving the gentleman furious. A woman like her, so manipulative, better to get a divorce."

Grace got more animated as she spoke, rolling her eyes dramatically.

"Divorce? It’s not like he hasn’t mentioned it. You saw how she cried and screamed and threw fits the other day, who could take responsibility for such antics."

"Exactly, exactly, she’s just a celeb with so much blackmail material, how does she have the nerve to cling to the gentleman like that."

"Don’t even bring it up. Any of her scandals would be a big deal for any star, yet she has such thick skin."

...

"Bang!"

A loud noise shattered the chatty atmosphere, and everyone quickly dispersed like getting caught raffling, sweating nervously, hoping Savannah Lowell didn’t overhear their words.

However, for a long time, Quinn Lockwood didn’t make any move.

Everyone looked over, only to see Quinn standing by the door with two suitcases, covered in sweat and looking a bit disheveled.

They looked at each other, frowning, wondering what she’s up to now.

Quinn lightly coughed and straightened her back. At least she retained the predecessor’s memories, so it wasn’t too awkward for her.

She heard most of the comments just now, but Savannah’s memories told her she’s used to it.

"Madam, where are you off to?"

Mrs. Lewis, who held relatively more authority in the house, spoke first. Being someone close to Grandpa Sinclair, no matter how arrogant Savannah usually was, she still gave Mrs. Lewis some face.

"You guys, just pretend you didn’t see anything."

Quinn paused slightly before attempting to carry her heavy luggage out. Just as she was about to head downstairs, Mrs. Lewis blocked her path.

"Madam, if you’re going out, at least let us know. It’s not that we’re nosy, but what if the gentleman asks about it, we won’t know what to say."

Elias Sinclair? Like he’d care where I’m going. Didn’t he wish Savannah Lowell was far away from him? Now he’s getting his wish.

Ignoring Mrs. Lewis, "You two, come over here and help me with the suitcase."

It wasn’t much, yet surprisingly heavy. Before, Quinn could have managed it with one hand, but with Savannah Lowell’s body now, she was weak and pampered.

The two servants stood frozen in place, unsure if they should help. Helping meant opposing Grandpa Sinclair, and they weren’t sure what trouble Savannah might stir up next. Not helping would lead to trouble later with Savannah’s temperament.

After a long pause with no movement, Quinn sighed. How much has Savannah ruined her reputation that no one will help with such a small task?

She rolled up her sleeves and brushed off the dust on her hands; it looked like she had to do it herself.

"Madam, please give us a break, where exactly are you planning to go?"

Mrs. Lewis blocked Quinn again, gently pushing the suitcase back, speaking with such emotion, it was almost tear-jerking.

Quinn couldn’t resist the emotional card, shrugged, and explained, "I just want to move back to the Lowell Family’s house." Is that not allowed?

What!? Move back?

These words brought both joy and distress among the crowd.

The servants viewed Savannah Lowell as equivalent to ancient tyrannical landlords, so her departure was like a national celebration.

However, how to explain this to Grandpa Sinclair and the gentleman was another worry.

"This..."

No, wait, after the initial joy, everyone finally realized, was this the Savannah Lowell they knew?

She actually requested to move back on her own. Forget it, she must be plotting some act again, the little flame of hope in everyone’s eyes was extinguished.

"Don’t fool around. I’ll help you take it back and tidy up."

Evidently, Mrs. Lewis thought she was joking, having gone through this several times before, slightly exasperated, reaching out to take Quinn’s belongings.

"I’ll say it one more time, I want to move back. As for Elias Sinclair, you don’t need to worry about the explanation. I’ll notify him."

Quinn rubbed her temples; it was truly annoying. Why were the Sinclair Family’s servants as persistent as Elias?

She finished speaking and pushed the suitcase toward the door, where her pre-arranged car was waiting.

Everyone was stunned; she was serious. Seeing that they couldn’t stop her, Mrs. Lewis quickly signaled Ivy to inform Elias Sinclair.

On the other end, Elias Sinclair hung up the phone, full of disdain, another one of her antics, is it? If she wants to play, I’ll play along.

"Bang!"

Cameron Grant hadn’t recovered from Elias Sinclair abruptly leaving and now was startled once more, with two nurses following him.

He frowned slightly, "Why are you back?"

Elias ignored him and walked straight to the bed to pick up his forgotten car keys.

"Are you going to the company?"

Cameron was confused, feeling both Savannah Lowell and Elias Sinclair acting out of character.

"Going home to see your sister."

Elias left these words and departed swiftly, leaving two nurses to watch over Cameron Grant.

Quinn stumbled around and finally managed to get her luggage by the car; the Sinclair Family mansion was indeed too vast, the distance from the main hall to the front door wasn’t short.

Mrs. Lewis watched, only hoping Elias Sinclair would hurry back.

"Ah, finally I can leave."

But just as Quinn was opening the trunk to store her luggage, the trunk door was slammed shut by someone, almost catching her hand.

Quinn looked up and saw that hateful face, filled with the same disdainful eyes directed at her.

Elias Sinclair, hands in his pockets, eyed her luggage with complete contempt.

"What, haven’t you had enough of your act?"
