CHAPTER 8: CHAPTER 8: THESE NEWLYWEDS ARE WAY TOO IMPATIENT

Why is it him?

Quinn Lockwood helplessly glared at Mrs. Lewis. It wasn’t hard to guess that she was the one who had informed Elias Sinclair.

Mrs. Lewis quickly lowered her head, pretending as if nothing happened.

Quinn Lockwood treated Elias Sinclair like air and continued with her actions, attempting to open the trunk again, but found it wouldn’t budge.

What’s going on? Is even the car against her?

Looking around, she noticed that Elias Sinclair had adjusted his stance at some point, leaning on the trunk lid and looking down at her from above.

Quinn Lockwood’s face turned dark instantly. Although she didn’t want to become the second Savannah Lowell, it didn’t mean she had no temper.

"Could you move aside, please?"

Quinn Lockwood spoke through gritted teeth. This was the best result after she tried hard to control her temper.

However, her reaction indeed surprised Elias Sinclair; even the persistent Savannah Lowell used the word ’please.’

He thought that in her dictionary, there were only the words arrogance and indifference.

Is this another one of her new games?

Instead of stepping aside, Elias Sinclair moved closer to Quinn Lockwood and sneered at her ear, "It’s overplayed."

The warmth of his breath by her ear made Quinn Lockwood shiver involuntarily.

Elias Sinclair stood up, a playful smile on his lips. Wasn’t her crying and fussing just to make him come back? Since he was already back, shouldn’t she end it?

Had it not been for Cameron Grant mentioning that her personality seemed to have changed, which piqued his interest, he wouldn’t have spared the time to play along.

"Acting? Hmph," Quinn Lockwood sneered coldly, "I’m not acting. If someone insists on thinking that way, there’s nothing I can do."

Elias Sinclair slightly frowned. Was she calling him "someone" just now?

No wonder she’s in the entertainment industry; her acting is indeed good. If she used half of it in front of the camera, she wouldn’t be getting such a bad rep.

Elias Sinclair initially wanted to see her defeated look, but Quinn Lockwood’s calm demeanor unexpectedly left him confused for a moment.

"Savannah Lowell, my patience has limits."

Elias Sinclair’s tone carried a hint of anger. Maybe he hadn’t expected Quinn Lockwood to hold her ground for so long. Previously, apart from Grandpa Sinclair holding them together, he always had the upper hand.

"My brother is sick, I have to go back to take care of him."

Seeing Elias Sinclair showing no intention of stepping aside, Quinn Lockwood redirected her luggage to the passenger seat without looking at him once.

"Whatever your plan is, I won’t let you succeed."

With a slight hand wave from Elias Sinclair, two bodyguards approached and quickly carried Quinn Lockwood’s luggage into the old house.

Want to leave? Maybe in the next lifetime.

"Hey. That’s my stuff."

Watching her luggage being taken away like that, Quinn Lockwood could no longer bear it. She walked straight up to Elias Sinclair, took a deep breath, and said, "You’re insane!"

Days of grievances spilled out as Quinn Lockwood spoke, spittle flying, betraying the depth of her resentment.

Elias Sinclair wiped the spittle off his face, almost wishing he could skin Quinn Lockwood alive, "Savannah Lowell, do you want to die!"

She dared treat him like this. Could provoking him also be part of her plan?

"I just want to go home. Why won’t you let me leave?"

Quinn Lockwood sighed, starting to feel pity for Savannah Lowell.

A daughter of the Lowell Family, how could she be so blind to fall for such a hypocritical and arrogant person?

Though everyone has different tastes, she should at least restrain herself a little. Who let her be so aggressive usually, causing her to be blamed and kept from moving her luggage?

Unable to return home — this is practically a house arrest.

"Don’t forget, who schemed to climb into my bed in the first place, went through every plot to enter The Sinclair Family. If you knew this would happen today, why do it back then?"

It’s truly ironic; if she hadn’t drugged him and set up those photos, how could he have ended up marrying her?

Since she did that back then, now putting on a pitiful act made it look like it was his fault.

The more Elias Sinclair thought about it, the more he found the woman before him disgusting. She appeared one way in front of others and another behind people’s backs; truly hypocritical. He was really out of his mind to be swayed by Cameron Grant’s words.

Quinn Lockwood knew he would say that. After all, it’s the undeniable truth, but she didn’t do those things, so why should she bear the consequences?

Besides, although Savannah Lowell’s previous actions were somewhat extreme, ultimately, they were for his sake. This man is simply heartless.

Being so aggressive with a woman who loves him dearly, Quinn Lockwood didn’t know whether to feel pity for Savannah Lowell or for him.

Forget it, Quinn Lockwood should lament for herself.

"I was blind to have fallen for you back then, clinging to you, doing so many foolish things, but fortunately, I’ve now seen reality clearly."

Blind? Elias Sinclair felt extremely uncomfortable hearing these words. Savannah Lowell never used to say things like this before.

Originally intending to see through Quinn Lockwood’s expression for clues, he didn’t expect her to speak so casually, tucking her loose hair behind her ear and tidying her clothes as if nothing was happening.

What on earth is her plan?

"Don’t think that by saying this on purpose, I’d let you go back. I know better than anyone what it means to cast a long line to catch big fish. In front of me, you’d better know your weight."

Unable to suppress her inner rage, Quinn Lockwood rushed to Elias Sinclair again, her clear eyes staring straight into his pupils.

If she were a man, she would have grabbed Elias Sinclair’s collar and given him a punch right then.

For someone so self-important like him, hitting him would be the right thing to do.

"I said..." I’m going back just to conveniently take care of my brother.

Those words were at the tip of her tongue, but seeing the playful and contemptuous look in Elias Sinclair’s eyes, Quinn Lockwood’s tone suddenly changed.

"I really must have been blind to fall for you back then."

As soon as the words fell, Quinn Lockwood prepared to leave, but in the next moment, her wrist was grabbed tightly, and in a swift movement, she was pressured onto the car hood.

"You, what are you going to do!"

Seeing Elias Sinclair’s face getting closer and closer, Quinn Lockwood began to panic. She closed her eyes tightly, her body trembling slightly.

Although her words just now were somewhat excessive, wasn’t there a saying that people part as friends? At least they are still nominally husband and wife; he wouldn’t really hit her in broad daylight, right?

Feeling the trembling of the person before him, a wicked smile curled up at Elias Sinclair’s lips.

What, afraid so quickly?

For a long moment, without the anticipated fist coming down, Quinn Lockwood slowly opened her eyes, only to be met with a large face.

At this moment, Elias Sinclair’s nose was only two centimeters away from hers, the air instantly froze. Quinn Lockwood felt a sharp pain where her lower back was pressed against the edge of the car hood.

What is he doing? If he wasn’t going to hit her, he should get up quickly. Does he intend to use her as a human cushion?
