Rebirth Of The Noble Mage Behind The Scenes
Chapter 53 - 53 53 Genius and Prophet
53: Chapter 53: Genius and Prophet 53: Chapter 53: Genius and Prophet After following a corridor to the dining hall, this was the scene that greeted Anvis.
Since he had already changed into the academy’s uniform and not many knew of his looks, there weren’t any incidents of him being recognized immediately upon entering the cafeteria.
Anvis had no desire to attract too much attention, so he casually picked up a portion of silver-tailed lobster, a slice of cheese pie decorated with exotic fruits, some Ice Sea White Sturgeon Caviar and a glass of sky-blue sparkling fruit juice.
After briefly scanning the dining hall, he carried his tray and sat down at a table in the center of the room.
By the time Anvis arrived, one side of the table was already occupied by a male and a female freshmen.
The male student had brown hair and blue eyes, a very common appearance; although he was eating, his expression was somewhat distracted, as if he was still contemplating some issues.
The female student had short curly brown hair, fruit-green eyes, a slightly chubby face with a few freckles that was very sweet and cute.
However, seemingly influenced by the aura of the male student, she too only maintained a quiet demeanor, keeping her head down as she ate.
Based on their dining manners, Anvis assessed that neither of them were of noble lineage.
“May I sit here, please?”
“No problem, go ahead!”
Suddenly asked, the brown-haired cute girl seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, hurriedly raised her head to reply, and kindly nodded to Anvis.
Anvis smiled gently and nodded back to the girl in response.
He’s so handsome…
Seeing the perfect and charming smile on the face of the blond young man before her, the girl’s heartbeat suddenly quickened.
Instinctively, she lowered her head pretending to eat to try and hide her embarrassment.
Noticing her reaction, Anvis smiled inwardly and then began to eat in a calm and unhurried manner, his movements elegant and smooth, displaying excellent upbringing.
From the corner of his eye, he saw that the brown-haired girl would sneak glances at him with her sparkling fruit-green eyes while eating, her inner thoughts were quite obvious.
Ah, my irresistible charm—
After a short while, the girl could no longer hold back, and raised her head shyly to look at Anvis, speaking softly.
“Hello, may I ask if you are a noble…?”
“I am indeed born into a noble family, but now, just like you, I am simply a new student at Pamir Academy.”
Anvis put down his knife and fork, smiling as he looked at the girl’s slightly chubby face, his tone carrying a strange and enchanting beauty, like an angel falling to the mortal world.
Being gazed at by his deep blue eyes, the girl only felt her cheeks beginning to warm up slightly.
Hearing this, the male student who had been immersed in his own world also snapped back to reality, and glanced briefly at Anvis.
Anvis politely nodded to him.
“…”
The male student lowered his head again, returning to his previous state.
“I’m Shirley, and he’s Orbins; we both come from the Rila region to the northwest of Karlars.
He’s always been like this, please don’t mind him.”
Seeing the atmosphere at the table getting a little stiff, the brown-haired girl hurriedly spoke to introduce them.
“No worries, my name is Anvis, from Karlars City.”
Anvis smiled as he spoke, indicating he didn’t mind.
“Karlars City…
I’ve heard my father mention it, but I’ve never been there.”
Upon hearing Anvis’s words, the girl called Shirley showed a look of longing.
She had only heard about the provincial capital from her father, who was a Professional.
“It must be very big…
I’ve heard that it’s filled with Gold Coins everywhere, and that the air is even fresher than in other places.”
“Hehe, those tales of the air being fresher and streets lined with Gold Coins are but exaggerated and unreal rumors.
However, Karlars is indeed very big, about…
this big!”
Anvis chuckled softly and playfully stretched out his arms in front of the girl, making a ‘very big’ gesture with his hands.
The girl was amused by his gesture, and the boy named Orbins also looked up for the second time, glancing at the two of them.
.….….
Dinner ended in the midst of a pleasant conversation between Anvis and Shirley, with Orbins keeping his head down and maintaining silence the whole time.
“Excuse me, I need to check the time.”
With a smile as an indication to Shirley, Anvis pulled out his pocket watch, with his slender, pale fingers lightly pressing on the top spring, causing the intricately carved secret gold cover to snap open, revealing a golden dial inlaid with starlight blue diamonds.
“Eight-twenty-eight.”
He softly read out the time, then with a slight movement of his fingers, he closed the watch’s cover and slipped it back into the inner pocket of his coat.
His movements were natural yet elegant, once again dazzling the young girl.
“Well then, I shall take my leave first.”
“Ah, okay!
Goodbye!”
Shirley waved her hand somewhat reluctantly, then suddenly remembered something and hastily spoke up.
“By the way, what’s your room number…”
As she spoke, the girl suddenly realized the ambiguity in her words, her face turning red as her voice involuntarily diminished.
Orbins lifted his head for the third time, his gaze lingering with an unclear meaning between the two of them.
“I mean, that’s not what I meant…
Will I be able to see you again later?”
Her big apple-green eyes held a hint of anxiety as the cute, brown-haired girl once more used a term of respect amidst her fluster.
Anvis smiled tenderly at the girl, his smile warm like sunshine, which again helped to calm the flustered girl.
“Every night, I come here for dinner.”
“I see, then see you tomorrow night!”
The girl nodded quickly, trying to dispel the awkwardness of the previous moment.
“Goodbye…”
Orbins also muttered something rather indistinct, before once again bowing his head.
Anvis stood up with his now-empty plate, smiling and nodding to them both in farewell, then slowly departed.
.….….
After returning to his own room, Anvis carefully recalled the dinner scene, contemplating if there had been any improprieties in his entrance.
After a thorough reflection, he nodded slightly, quite satisfied with his performance from earlier.
In fact, his choice of where to dine was not random but was a deliberate intent to make contact with the two individuals.
More precisely, it was to approach the boy among them, Orbins.
The power of an individual, after all, has its limits.
Even carrying two Legendary Bloodlines, having almost transcended human limitations, there are still limits.
That’s when one needs to leverage all possible external aid.
For example, those who are true geniuses.
In his plans, there were two individuals in the academy listed as top priority for recruitment.
Orbins was one of them.
He was a true magic prodigy, as if his entire life existed solely for the advancement of magic.
Though his personality was a bit odd, it could not conceal the radiance he possessed.
