Rebirth Of The Noble Mage Behind The Scenes
Chapter 55 - 55 55 Player Experiment Project
55: Chapter 55 Player Experiment Project 55: Chapter 55 Player Experiment Project Over the course of several days aboard the Floating Ship, Anvis was recognized by other new recruits twice.
Once by the son of a Marquis who was a subordinate to his family, and another time upon boarding, by a lesser Noble descendant who had seen his face from afar.
Both of them greeted him with great politeness and tried to invite him to dine at other tables.
However, after Anvis tactfully declined their invitations, both individuals also excused themselves with good grace.
After these two incidents, the clever Shirley continuously avoided asking Anvis about his surname.
She had a feeling that Anvis might be concerned that bringing it up in front of them could fracture the relationship between the three, so he deliberately avoided the topic.
After dinner ended, Anvis returned to his cabin.
But before he could sit down at the table, the door was suddenly knocked on.
“Lord Anvis, you have a letter.”
The visitor was an Academy Mage who, after seeing Anvis, bowed slightly and handed him a letter sealed with a silver pattern.
After thanking the Mage who delivered the letter, Anvis returned to his room and traced a simple Magic Power insignia on the surface of the envelope with his fingertip.
The silver pattern on the envelope flashed briefly, then slowly retracted to the sides, revealing the sealed part of the envelope in the center.
The letter was sent by the leader of a merchant group under him, and on the parchment stamped with the Crystal Bird Emblem, it recorded the experimental results Anvis had specifically requested.
‘As per your request, the test results for the new Elf Guard recruited into the merchant group are as follows:’
‘1.
Additional Combat Skills specific to multiple weapons were taught to the target.’
‘The target demonstrated an extremely alarming learning ability, mastering and being able to use each weapon’s Skill after just half a day of practice.’
‘2.
Every day, a Fourth Rank Guard from the merchant group was arranged to spar with the target, awarding rewards based on the duration the target remained undefeated.’
‘The target showed an unbelievable rate of strength improvement.
When they first joined the group, the target only exhibited apprentice-level combat prowess and couldn’t even withstand a single move from Carl.
However, after just about a month, the target was able to exchange blows evenly with Carl.
Combined with the previous test result, it is initially suspected that the target has concealed their true strength.’
‘3.
After the target disappeared in a flash of White Light, his previous carriage was filled with Magic Beast Fur and Blasting Iron Ingots.’
‘The target reappeared in a flash of White Light a hundred Magic Time and fifteen minutes later, positioned on top of the carriage.’
‘4.
Some Special instructions were proposed, allowing the target to choose whether to accept them, including but not limited to standing guard all night, dressing in women’s attire, cleaning pack animals, etc.’
‘The target happily accepted all the Tasks, only showing discomfort when dressed in a skirt cleaning animal dung, but still chose to follow through with the instruction.’
‘5.
After the target disappeared again in a flash of White Light, the part of the carriage he sat in was sawed off and buried ten meters deep at the roadside, with the merchant group continuing onward.’
‘The target did not reappear.’
…..
In the southern territories of Karlars, Daon Forest.
The Last Dragon Descendant who had just logged in stood by the roadside, looking around at the deserted surroundings with a face full of Confusion.
Where is this?
Where is my merchant group?
He opened his panel to check and saw that all tasks related to the merchant group had turned grey, which signified failure, proving that he was far from where the merchant group was located.
On the system map, his current position was like a line thrusting into darkness, with all surrounding areas being unexplored territory.
A breeze came by, whisking the roadside leaves into the air, as if mirroring the turbulent feelings of an Elf in the wind.
A few grey sparrows flew over his head, making a burst of timely cooing sounds.
Another bug?
Is there still hope for me now?
Looking around, one side was a primeval forest with strange and ancient trees, while the other was a desolate wilderness with rugged rocks and dense shrubs.
Distant black mountain ranges undulated under the sea of clouds, and a dirt road stretched lonely towards the distant horizon, with not a single sign of human life.
After comparing the directions of a few major cities on the map, the Last Dragon Descendant could only continue along the road.
To speed up the journey, he temporarily invested some Free Attribute Points into Agility and Constitution.
After several days of gaming, the Elf made a keen discovery: the effect of Attribute Points was not merely reflected in data, but could directly affect his physical sensations.
Adding points to Constitution could enhance his stamina for prolonged physical activity; Agility could improve his speed and burst power;
Strength allowed him to lift heavier objects; Perception made him more aware of the faintest movements in the environment.
Unfortunately, increasing Intelligence did not really enhance the player’s intelligence, and the same was true for Will.
The Charm attribute was quite special; it couldn’t be actively increased, but only grew with Level or due to some adventures, wearing certain equipment, using perfume, and other external factors.
A higher Charm could affect the NPCs’ attitudes towards him and certain Spell determinations.
Free Attribute Points are awarded five points per Level, and the additional Free Attribute Points from various Talent Skills are calculated separately.
After completing a month-long task in game time, the Last Dragon Descendant had reached Level 39, and was now stuck on a class change task.
Soon, a typical scene of the game emerged on the desolate dirt road.
A Green-haired Elf, dressed in merchant caravan Guard attire, was bouncing and sprinting towards Bigenus Castle, following the trail left by the caravan.
In fact, this way of traveling consumed more stamina than normal running and wasn’t cost-effective from a cost-to-benefit perspective.
But in terms of gaming experience, since the character’s physical prowess greatly exceeded reality, a casual leap could span meters in height and distance.
The exhilarating and unrestrained feeling brought about by consecutive leaps was truly thrilling.
Listening to the sound of the wind passing by the ears, mixed with the sunshine and fresh air rushing towards the face.
Each time his feet landed on the ground, the body would respond with a sense of lightness and strength.
Golden fallen leaves, swaying weeds, dense trees, grey-white rocks – everything swiftly swept by in the background.
This was his fundamental pursuit in playing the game, to experience in virtuality what reality could not offer—
After swiftly covering some distance, a friendly system prompt came: Your stamina is below 30%, please be cautious.
When stamina drops below 25%, players will acquire the negative state [Fatigue], reducing Strength and Agility by 50%.
When completely depleted to zero, players will fall into a ‘Severe Fatigue’ state, reducing Strength and Agility attributes by 95%, and sleep is necessary for recovery.
Due to the high realism of the game, players often have no time to pay attention to the game panel during combat.
Out of consideration for humanity, the game officials specifically designed a friendly reminder function that can automatically alert players to attribute changes and manage Spell timing and more.
However, according to the introduction in the beta agreement: as this feature adds to operating costs, it will require a microtransaction to activate after the official game launch.
Unlocking it for only $64.80, isn’t that heartwarming?
As he ran along, the Last Dragon Descendant suddenly encountered an unexpected event—
