Rebirth of the Peak Young Master
Chapter 29 The Same Aura
CHAPTER 29: CHAPTER 29 THE SAME AURA
Under the stunned gazes of classmates and teachers, Ye Fei remained calm and sat in the classroom until noon before finally stepping out.
During this time, Guo Can stood steadily at the doorway, not moving a single step, and didn’t even sit down.
Although standing for an entire morning meant nothing to a Martial Artist like Guo Can,
in the eyes of others, it was beyond incredible.
Who exactly was Guo Can?
The distinguished young lady of the Guo Family. If Ye Fei’s classmates could be described as born with silver spoons in their mouths, then Guo Can was practically adorned head to toe in gold and diamonds, a person from an entirely different social class.
Yet, Ye Fei was nothing more than a poor boy with bad grades and a disastrous family background.
The gap between them was so immense that there shouldn’t have been any reason for interaction.
But now, not only was there interaction, it even seemed as if Guo Can was humbly pleading with Ye Fei.
How could this not leave others completely dumbfounded?
Ye Fei, however, found it perfectly natural.
As a Cultivator, he transcended worldly matters. A mere Guo Family was nothing worth his notice.
So, as the lesson concluded, Ye Fei casually tidied up his desk before walking out of the classroom with a calm demeanor and saying, "Let’s talk while we walk."
"Alright, Mr. Ye!"
Guo Can immediately nodded, acting almost like a humble maidservant as she followed closely behind Ye Fei. The sight left the wealthy heirs in the classroom slack-jawed.
At the foot of the mountain behind Yuntai University...
Ye Fei gradually stopped walking and, without turning around, said calmly, "Say what you need to say."
"Yes!"
Guo Can looked at Ye Fei’s figure with mixed emotions and sighed before beginning, "First of all, I would like to formally apologize on behalf of my uncle, my father, and myself for the inappropriate remarks I made to you last time, Mr. Ye."
While speaking, Guo Can bowed low in respect.
Ye Fei didn’t turn around, replying indifferently, "I haven’t taken it to heart. Get to the point; I have class this afternoon."
Class?
Guo Can was momentarily startled.
In her mind, a figure as godlike as Ye Fei—did he even need to attend class?
However, she hadn’t come here just out of curiosity.
Thus, she quickly said, "During our Guo Family’s recent expedition to the ancient tombs, we acquired numerous treasures, including one particular Divine Weapon. My grandfather believes this artifact will greatly interest you, Mr. Ye. He hopes you can join us for dinner at our family’s estate tonight. On one hand, this would be an opportunity for my uncle and father to formally apologize, and on the other hand, it would allow us to discuss this exquisite artifact in detail."
A Divine Weapon?
Upon hearing this, Ye Fei smiled faintly and shook his head.
Mundane divine weapons were merely ordinary items; as a Cultivator, he had no use for such trinkets.
Guo Can seemed to notice Ye Fei’s lack of interest and quickly added, "My grandfather mentioned that the weapon carries a special aura, one that seemingly resonates with your own, Mr. Ye!"
"Oh?"
Ye Fei finally turned around this time.
As a Cultivator, anything bearing an aura similar to his own warranted further attention. Could it be a Demon Soldier? Was there perhaps another Cultivator on Earth?
Deeply intrigued, Ye Fei was about to ask more.
But suddenly, his brows furrowed. His voice grew cold as he said, "Go back!"
"Go back? But..."
Guo Can was visibly confused.
The aftermath of the Guo Family’s previous tomb expedition had sparked Elder Guo’s fury, nearly causing him to banish Guo Wenyuan and Guo Wenhuai from the family.
Her current visit was meant to mend fences with Ye Fei.
How could she possibly return without fulfilling her purpose?
"No ’but.’ Just leave!" Ye Fei commanded sternly.
Stunned by his sharp tone, tears began to well in Guo Can’s eyes.
As a pampered young lady, she had never been scolded like this before, much less after lowering her pride to seek Ye Fei out, standing patiently for a whole morning.
Watching Guo Can’s tearful appearance, Ye Fei sighed, feeling slightly exasperated. He relented, saying, "Go now, and I’ll come to your family’s dinner tonight. If you don’t leave, I won’t go."
"You’ll come?"
Guo Can’s face brightened instantly, her tears replaced by a hopeful smile.
"Yes. Hurry and leave now, or I truly won’t attend," Ye Fei replied.
"I’ll leave! I’m going right now!"
With Ye Fei’s promise secured, Guo Can didn’t dare linger. She quickly nodded and hurried away.
As he watched Guo Can’s retreating figure, Ye Fei smiled faintly, but his expression quickly turned icy. "Show yourself—I’ve sensed your presence."
Swish!
No voice responded to Ye Fei’s words, only a low, dull sound of something slicing through the air.
Ye Fei instantly stepped back.
The ground stirred as dust was blown aside, leaving a smoking cavity in the earth where Ye Fei had just been standing.
A gun?
Ye Fei glanced at the hole, his thoughts racing as he began moving at supernatural speed.
As his movements accelerated, a series of sharp noises followed him relentlessly—sounds of bullets tearing through the air.
Finally, Ye Fei found cover behind a sturdy wall, and the gunfire ceased.
"It seems someone wants me dead."
Standing against the wall’s edge, Ye Fei smirked coldly.
"Since I began cultivating, few have dared to antagonize me. Among them, those capable of obtaining firearms and harboring intent to kill me—after some consideration, it can only be the Black Tiger Hall. Heh, Bai Que is finally aware of my identity!"
Despite analyzing the situation rationally, Ye Fei appeared utterly unconcerned about the assassin closing in.
From the moment he started speaking to Guo Can, Ye Fei had used Divine Sense to lock onto the assassin’s location.
His temporary evasion was merely to calmly determine who wanted him dead.
Now that he had figured it out, Ye Fei naturally wouldn’t sit idly by.
With a smirk, Ye Fei pushed off the ground with the tip of his foot.
Swish!
In an instant, the Cultivator’s speed erupted, leaving behind a trail of afterimages as Ye Fei raced towards the mountains.
The assassin, who had been aiming at the corner, preparing to eliminate Ye Fei the moment he showed himself, was now completely dumbfounded.
Was this even human speed?
How was he supposed to land a hit?
In the blink of an eye, Ye Fei was already face-to-face with the assassin, whose mind hadn’t even caught up yet.
"Black Tiger Hall’s operative?" Ye Fei asked coldly, staring the assassin down.
"Heh, correct!"
The assassin finally regained his composure, sneering viciously. "I didn’t expect you to be such a skilled practitioner. No wonder Master Bai sent me specifically to deal with you. But you’ve made a fatal mistake!"
"That mistake was stepping in front of me, the Gun God!"
With those words, the assassin swiftly drew his handgun and fired at Ye Fei, his grin triumphant.
But that grin lasted only one second before morphing into utter disbelief.
The bullet he had fired was now firmly caught between Ye Fei’s fingertips.
Ye Fei had plucked the bullet out of the air with his bare hand.
Clink!
The bullet fell to the ground as Ye Fei floated in midair, gazing down at the assassin with disdain. Calmly, he said, "Didn’t you say I made a fatal mistake? Care to elaborate?"
