Looking into Ye Fei’s eyes, an unexplained fear ran through Youu Cancan. Hastily, she waved her hands. "No, no! Just... just a little bit..."

"Whenever a tiger demon harms someone, the victim’s spirit transforms into an Evil Spirit. But it cannot enter reincarnation and becomes bound to the tiger demon, serving it. These spirits are called Ghosts," Ye Fei explained calmly.

"Ghosts? So, are you saying that the shadow in that photograph really was a tiger demon?" Youu Cancan asked, stunned.

"Haha, it was just a Ghost. Though I don’t know how you got that photo or who took it, the soul of the deceased had already been captured by the tiger demon at the time. The Ghost was merely concealing its tracks for the tiger demon." Ye Fei laughed as he spoke.

Listening to Ye Fei’s mystical words, Youu Cancan would usually scoff and show disbelief toward anyone saying such things.

But oddly enough, when Ye Fei said it, she found herself instinctively believing him.

It was not just because of Ye Fei’s enigmatic power but also due to an indescribable sense within her.

Thinking about tiger demons and Ghosts lurking in Lingshan, Youu Cancan couldn’t help but feel a bit frightened and said nervously, "Ye Fei, while I’m familiar with the paths up this mountain, you need to stay alert too. Don’t let those tiger demons or Ghosts capture me!"

"You just need to lead the way; I’ll handle the rest," Ye Fei reassured her with a smile.

"Lead the way? This lady is familiar with Lingshan, is she?"

Just then, a jovial voice sounded behind Ye Fei and Youu Cancan.

Turning around, Youu Cancan saw a young man with dyed blonde hair and an effeminate demeanor, accompanied by a haughty young woman, approaching with a group of people.

"Familiar or not, what does it have to do with you?"

Youu Cancan frowned, evidently annoyed by the interruption.

"Haha, miss, I’m no villain! I’m Li Xu from the Binjiang Li Family. This is my cousin Su Mai. May I know the lady’s name?" The effeminate young man, seemingly unaffected by Youu Cancan’s rude tone, smiled and inquired.

"Li Family?"

Youu Cancan furrowed her brows further and replied, "My name is Youu Cancan. What do you want?"

"What do I want? Naturally, I want you to lead the way!" The haughty young woman, Su Mai, sneered coldly.

Her tone was not only arrogant but carried a hint of command.

Although Youu Cancan didn’t know Su Mai, she was well aware of the Binjiang Li Family, being a master of intelligence herself.

They were the top aristocratic family in Binjiang, practically the local emperors!

Under usual circumstances, encountering such wealthy heirs, Youu Cancan would pretend to cooperate while finding an opportunity to slip away, not daring to provoke them.

The middle-aged man responded and suddenly let out a thunderous roar, smashing his fist into a large rock beside him.

The rock instantly split in two, a deep fissure spidering across it before the whole stone broke apart.

Li Xu continued smugly, "I believe few would dare reject my request, wouldn’t you agree?"

Terrified by the sight of the shattered rock, Youu Cancan froze and instinctively turned to Ye Fei for help, meanwhile pondering who between Ye Fei and Master Sunx possessed greater power.

Ye Fei saw her expression and calmly asked, "What’s your purpose for going up the mountain?"

"Haha, just searching for an Evil Tiger! Boy, if you let this lady guide us instead, I’ll reimburse her commission to you in full. How about it?" Li Xu said smugly.

"No need!"

Ye Fei shook his head slightly, and before Li Xu could show his anger, Ye Fei added lightly, "She can lead you first and then guide me later. It’s hard to find a familiar guide."

"Lead us first?"

Li Xu turned to Su Mai upon hearing this. Clearly, Su Mai was the real leader of the group.

Though Su Mai didn’t like Youu Cancan’s attitude, she pondered for a moment before nodding reluctantly.

With their agreement, Ye Fei turned back to continue climbing the mountain.

Youu Cancan hurriedly caught up to him, puzzled, and whispered, "Ye Fei, aren’t you also looking for that Evil Tiger? Why agree with them? I should warn you, that man and woman are trouble—especially the woman!"

"To draw out the tiger demon, we must first attract the Ghosts. Ghosts require bait, and now we have one." Ye Fei smiled faintly. "Unless... you’d prefer to serve as the bait?"
