Rebirth of the Super Battleship
Chapter 534: The Garbage Ship
During this period, Xiao Yu had never relaxed his surveillance of Xu Junpo. He watched him gradually grow, graduate from university with outstanding talent and excellent grades, then, after further study, enter an internship at the Central Research Academy of Science. At present, the mentor he followed was Luka Three.
With forward-thinking vision and profound scientific foundations, Luka Three strove to teach and cultivate him. He indeed did not disappoint Luka Three. By now, he had even grown to the point of being qualified to join forces with Luka Three to conduct research on a certain scientific project.
He was without doubt a genius.
After learning of Xiao Yu’s current predicament, he spent only a short time thinking and arrived at an answer, which he told to Xiao Yu.
Upon receiving this answer, Xiao Yu’s spirit jolted slightly, then relaxed.
“That is it, that is it. A ramming strike will do. With a single impact, we can resolve the present predicament. I was careless before, trapped in a mental dead end, thinking only of how to use the current fleet’s strength to break through the Pegasus Civilization’s defensive line, without considering other angles.”
This was unrelated to high or low intelligence, purely a matter of a mental blind spot. It is like when a simpleton occasionally utters a sentence that happens to untie a knot in the sage’s heart. It does not mean the simpleton’s wisdom surpasses the sage’s. Of course, the analogy may be inappropriate, because Xu Junpo was clearly no simpleton. He was a genius. Yet the essence of the two situations was the same.
Xiao Yu understood at once what Xu Junpo meant. After brief contemplation, viewing the plan from all angles, and confirming that it was indeed feasible and not some conspiracy of Xu Junpo’s, Xiao Yu swiftly agreed.
“I already have a method.” Xiao Yu said. “This method can very conveniently resolve the current predicament. The fall of the Pegasus Civilization’s capital planet is already a foregone conclusion. Prepare the follow-up battle simulations.”
“Hm? What method is it?” a scientist asked in surprise.
“Ramming.” Xiao Yu sighed lightly. “When we fought the Pegasus Civilization’s Expeditionary Army, we used the Predator Civilization’s Continent-Class flagship to ram the Expeditionary Army’s Continent-Class ships and destroyed them that way. Now we still have one Continent-Class ship captured from the Expeditionary Army, do we not. I do not believe a planetary shield can withstand the impact of a Continent-Class ship.”
“So that is it. This truly is feasible.” The scientist’s eyes lit up. He continued, “A Continent-Class ship is not like an ordinary meteor. It possesses a complete shield system. That ensures it will not be destroyed during the approach to the Pegasus Civilization’s capital planet. It can accelerate for a period and strike the planet at extremely high speed to ensure impact power. After shattering the planetary shield, the Blood Blade Squad can deploy and use space weapons to destroy the planetary engines on this planet and strip it of mobility, then destroy the super negative matter cannon and strip it of offensive capability. This is perfect.”
“Yes, that is it.” Xiao Yu nodded.
“But…” The scientist paused, hesitating. “But we have not finished the technological analysis of that Continent-Class ship. To sacrifice it like this, is that not too wasteful.”
“It does not matter.” Xiao Yu said. “A Continent-Class ship used as a rock for ramming does not need so many advanced devices. It only has to keep the basic propulsion and shielding systems. I have already organized large numbers of robots to dismantle the ship. Any valuable instruments inside will be removed and reserved for later study. For instruments that cannot be removed, I have also left sufficient data backups. And these robots will transport in many other useless materials to increase its overall mass and thus the impact force.”
“In that case, there is nothing to worry about. I support the plan.” the scientist said, nodding his assent.
“The preparations will take two days. In these two days, we expect five to seven attacks from the super negative matter cannon on the planetary war star. Continent-Class warships are fine. These attacks will not affect their overall integrity. Nation-Class ships are another matter. But there is nothing to be done. Let us wait calmly.”
Xiao Yu’s gaze once more turned to Xu Junpo. After proposing this suggestion to Xiao Yu, he acted as if nothing had happened and continued his work.
Xiao Yu sighed slightly.
“Up to now, I have not detected anything suspicious in you. You are simply an ordinary intelligent being, only somewhat more gifted, somewhat more brilliant, and that is acceptable. In fact, I think highly of you. But why do you have such a name. Taihao civilization, leader of the rebels… everything behind these matters is shrouded in mist. I do not know when I will learn the truth.”
The initiative always lay with Xiao Yu. He had conducted surveillance that could be said to be strict yet unimaginably covert. According to Luka Two’s sociological theory, what an intelligent being thinks in the heart will, more or less, manifest through subtle bodily reactions or minute facial expressions. During this period, Xiao Yu collected data on Xu Junpo that could be called a vast ocean. Under the strictest analysis, he found nothing suspicious.
Xiao Yu had even taken advantage of his sleep to anesthetize him and thoroughly analyze his bodily structure, yet found no abnormalities. Still he was not reassured. To ensure absolute control over him, Xiao Yu even implanted many miniature bombs into his blood-supply organs, respiratory organs, thinking organs, and other vital organs. These miniature bombs were directly linked to Xiao Yu’s mind, without passing through any other channel. This maximized their security. One could say that as long as Xiao Yu’s brain did not fall, no other existence could seize control of these miniature bombs from Xiao Yu.
With a single thought from Xiao Yu, these miniature bombs would detonate at once and take Xu Junpo’s life.
“I have used every method I can think of and can use. Under such strict measures, if you can still succeed in rebellion, then it is your ability. I will have nothing to say and will accept the loss.” Xiao Yu thought.
Xiao Yu had his own pride. In truth, under measures like his, he did not believe this Xu Junpo could stir up any waves.
The fierce war continued. The super negative matter cannon on the planetary war star still maintained a firing rate of once every seven or eight hours. During this time, three more Nation-Class ships suffered severe trauma and had to retreat to the rear for repairs. The Continent-Class ships were still unharmed and not greatly affected.
Even so, the situation began to tip slowly, shifting from favorable to Xiao Yu toward unfavorable. Continent-Class ships were the peak power, strategic weapons. Nation-Class ships were the elite power, akin to regional governors holding authority over their sectors. Losing each Nation-Class ship meant that in some region Xiao Yu’s forces lost their advantage. Accumulated, such losses could ultimately change the situation of the entire battlefield.
It did not matter. The Continent-Class ship captured from the Expeditionary Army had already been refitted. During this period, Xiao Yu directed robots to empty out all valuable instruments inside the Continent-Class ship, then transported in numerous low-value items, such as household waste produced by the intelligent beings aboard the Home, scrap and worthless ship parts, damaged ships, and so on. In short, anything Xiao Yu did not need was packed into this ship, turning the Continent-Class ship into a veritable garbage ship.
The interior environment of this Continent-Class ship was now extremely vile. In the biological waste of intelligent beings there are always many inexplicable organisms. Under the action of these organisms, even more disgusting and inexplicable substances and gases are produced. Previously, Xiao Yu had robots collect these things and dump them into the decay engine as fuel. The decay engine was not picky and could digest anything. Now, however, all of it was piled into this Continent-Class ship.
Thus, inside this Continent-Class ship, filthy water flowed everywhere, black, yellow, green, and all kinds of multicolored filth were everywhere, all manner of inexplicable mosquito-like creatures were everywhere, and all kinds of acrid odors were enough to make any hardy organism faint.
In short, the scene inside this Continent-Class ship would make any intelligent being vomit up yesterday’s meal at once.
Yet it was precisely these things that contributed considerable mass to the ship. Piled up, they brought the total mass of this Continent-Class ship to more than twenty billion tons.
After completing all this work, the Continent-Class ship began a slow withdrawal, moving away from the battlefield. After retreating to a certain distance, it began to approach the battlefield, and its speed steadily increased.
Its initial withdrawal was solely to leave sufficient acceleration distance for the subsequent approach.
