CHAPTER 997: CHAPTER 574: SHIFTING THE TROUBLE ELSEWHERE (PART 2)
Faced with a student blatantly lying, Guo Ran didn’t get angry, instead, she calmly asked, "Oh, then tell me, how many laps did I walk around the classroom during this lesson?"
Duan Shigang had no idea. After racking his brains, he guessed, "Three laps?"
Guo Ran replied, "Wrong, I never stepped off the podium."
Duan Shigang thought to himself, ’Damn, how can this still be a trap!’
...
The atmosphere in the classroom became more pleasant.
Seeing there were only a few minutes left before the class ended, Guo Ran didn’t continue the lesson. She sat down, took a sip of tea, and said,
"Everyone should study well. The purpose of studying is not just to get into a good university or find a good job, but also to let you see a bigger world."
The students listening to her words didn’t take them to heart, since they’ve heard it countless times; parents said it, relatives said it, teachers said it... many times over.
Perhaps upon hearing it, their hearts were stirred as if injected with adrenaline, but a day or two later, they returned to their usual routines, which was called clear-headed degeneration.
Guo Ran understood the students’ thoughts. She recalled a man she met during a morning blind date and continued,
"Studying hard can also give you the right to make choices, not just choices in life, but also choices in..."
She changed her tone and smiled as she said, "Choose the person you like."
Many students who were not paying attention perked up at this, surprised that Mr. Guo was willing to discuss such a topic with them.
Guo Ran had the temperament of a big sister who gets along well with students, and her pleasant looks helped her blend into the student crowd.
Everyone focused on her, waiting for her to continue explaining.
Thinking of the various blind date candidates she had been introduced to, Guo Ran said,
"Generally speaking, the higher the education level, the more choices one has."
"If you are choosing a partner, would you prefer someone with higher education or lower education?"
"I think the answer is obvious."
Chen Qian said, "Of course someone with higher education, I don’t have much time to decide, education is the best filter."
Guo Ran felt acknowledged when she heard this.
But soon, a dissenting voice appeared.
Duan Shigang raised his hand and said, "I like pretty ones."
Lu Qiqi raised her hand and said, "If they have money, it doesn’t matter whether their education level is high or low, I’m fine with it either way."
Guo Ran said, "...Class dismissed."
"Oh, Jiang Ning, please come to the office."
When she said this, the students had varying reactions; some envied Jiang Ning, thinking he had a good relationship with the teacher.
Meanwhile, others, like Chai Wei, clenched their fists, feeling full of jealousy.
At the thought of the two speaking in the office, he even began to resent the once-admired Guo Ran!
’A teacher who doesn’t observe teacher ethics!’
Office.
Guo Ran, with her delicate fingers, brewed a cup of jasmine tea for her proud student.
She then leaned back in her chair lazily, with her shoulders subtly contoured due to her posture, causing the buttons on her slightly loose shirt to stretch tight, outlining her curves.
Jiang Ning sat in the chair, eyes straight ahead.
Actually, she had taught him how to sit comfortably at home by relying on a sofa’s posture, which he enjoyed.
Guo Ran took a sip of tea, and the weariness in her eyes faded slightly, adding a bit of vigor. Seeing Jiang Ning sitting obediently, she recalled his dominant presence as he waved to disperse the crowd when he won the marathon.
This contrast made her unable to resist teasing him:
"Oh, where’s your champion’s aura?"
Jiang Ning responded, "Teacher, you’re joking. How could I show off in front of you?"
Guo Ran pressed her temples with a hint of annoyance in her tone, "Didn’t you agree to volunteer?"
...
After Jiang Ning left.
Pang Jiao, hand in hand with Zhang Yifei, came running to Chai Wei, their large faces full of an imposing demeanor.
Chai Wei held his breath.
"Ah Wei, after the next class, we want to go to the gym to work out. Could you be our personal trainer?"
Pang Jiao bit her thick lips, her large face exuding a bold shyness, her big eyes seemingly saying, ’We can give you some advantage.’
Upon hearing this, Chai Wei instinctively felt disgusted, his face turned pale, and he refused, "I can’t, I feel a bit dizzy today, not in a good state."
He suggested, "If you want to work out, I recommend finding Jiang Ning. He can bench press 140 kg, even better than a gym teacher, and he has experience teaching others. He’d be a great coach."
This was a skillful move, shoveling the problem away!
’Jiang Ning, go take the fall!’ Chai Wei inwardly shouted, challenging if Jiang Ning could stay as relaxed if Pang Jiao and others clung to him.
By then, he’d thoroughly enjoy Jiang Ning’s unfortunate situation!
His deskmate, Bai Yuxia, cast a sidelong glance full of wistful desire at Chai Wei and then returned to solving problems.
The next class was with Gao Heshuai, so she consolidated her knowledge to avoid being questioned.
After plotting, Chai Wei thought Pang Jiao would reconsider, giving him the chance to fuel the fire!
Without realizing, he also kindled his own enthusiasm!
However, Pang Jiao, like a thick sturdy vine, wrapped around him, dismissing his suggestion: "Ah Wei, I only want you to teach us."
Chai Wei couldn’t understand, continuing to make excuses: "Jiang Ning is much better than me, plus I’m really dizzy today, wouldn’t want to faint in the gym, right?"
Zhang Yifei’s confident, square face beamed with her enthusiasm as she laughed brightly like blooming bricks: "We’ve trained in the infirmary, when you faint, we’ll give you CPR!"
Upon hearing this, Chai Wei was shocked and nearly couldn’t sit straight.
...
Four together.
"I’m copying, copying, copying!" Wang Longlong was frantically copying a math test paper.
Not just him, Guo Kunnan sat in Dan Kaiquan’s seat, sharing the task of copying a test paper with Wang Longlong.
There was no choice, Gao Heshuai, the math teacher, was ruthless. If the test papers weren’t completed, the next class would mean standing at the back, which was not only tiring but embarrassing.
Actually, it’s not that Guo Kunnan and the others only had the time now to copy the paper. But why wait until now?
They just loved the thrill of dancing on the edge of a knife! Exciting!
Guo Kunnan was in the midst of it when suddenly he felt a shadow fall over him, a hand pressing on his head.
With an annoyed expression, Guo Kunnan said, "Brother Quan, stop it, I’m copying homework!"
Right after speaking, he realized the eerie silence around him; Lu Qiqi, Meng Ziyun, and others from the front row were all looking this way.
Guo Kunnan stiffly turned his head and saw Gao Heshuai’s dark face and bull-like eyes.
Guo Kunnan was so startled he nearly jumped out of his skin, face turning pale, quickly standing up to admit his mistake: "Teacher, I was wrong, I shouldn’t have copied the homework."
Gao Heshuai’s grim eyes swept over him, then turned towards Wang Longlong.
At that moment, Wang Longlong was confidently writing, comparing it with Miao Zhe’s math paper.
Gao Heshuai asked, "Wang Longlong, are you copying homework?"
Wang Longlong didn’t share Guo Kunnan’s panic; he naturally responded, "No, I’m organizing errors in my work."
Gao Heshuai demanded, "Then why do you have two test papers?"
Wang Longlong candidly replied, "Because I don’t have that many errors myself, so I look at other students’ mistakes to avoid them."
Gao Heshuai said, "You are copying!"
Wang Longlong protested, "I really am not!"
As the two argued, the class bell rang. Gao Heshuai was unable to catch Wang Longlong’s tell-tale sign and was rather taken aback by Wang Longlong’s theories.
Just then, Wu Xiaoqi entered the classroom bouncing a basketball in time with the music’s ’doom-ts doom-ts’ beat.
He walked with a swagger, his body shaking, looking remarkably joyful.
Gao Heshuai was startled by the sound of the ball, glared at Wu Xiaoqi, and with his already sour mood, became grumpier still. He loathed this loafer with connections, expressing his annoyance openly:
"I get irritated just looking at you!"
Wu Xiaoqi, holding the basketball, responded bluntly: "You think seeing you makes me happy?"
After saying this, he turned and left the classroom to start his basketball lesson.
