Chapter 580 - 608 Happy and Fulfilling
CHAPTER 580: CHAPTER 608 HAPPY AND FULFILLING
"That’s good. I’m at ease with them," Gu Zishan laughed, "Hurry up and tell Gu Junming!"
"Yes, we must tell him, mother and child are safe."
"I’ll go!" Jun Tao ran quickly.
Zhao Jieyun thought for a moment and decided to call Han Dong. He is also in the provincial capital and very concerned about her. He also said to call immediately after the birth, and left his phone number, so Zhao Jieyun quickly went to make the call.
Before long, Yang Liu and Sister Guihua hurried over, bringing a pile of food, which left everyone stunned.
"So much! How can the new mother eat all this?"
"It’s not just for her, everyone should eat! Here are buns, bean paste buns, and sweet dumplings, these are the dishes I bought, everyone come and eat!" Guihua laughed, "I booked rooms at the hotel across the street, it’s so late, no need to go back, hurry and get some sleep."
Everyone was very happy, Sister Guihua was so generous! Outside, there was a lot of excitement; everyone was celebrating the birth of the child and enjoying a big meal together.
Sun Chan had been in a deep sleep, her parents watching over her. Her little face was flushed, and she looked in good spirits.
Zhao Jieyun held Sun Chan’s hand, looking at her with deep emotions, tears welling up in her eyes, "Our child has finally grown up. It would have been better if Yang Yun hadn’t been so willful back then..."
"Enough," Yang Dongfeng put an arm around her shoulder, "Let’s not talk about that daughter anymore. Sun Chan wouldn’t be happy to hear it either. We just have this daughter and a grandchild now."
"Alright." Zhao Jieyun nodded, leaning against her husband’s embrace.
Sun Chan had given birth, but far away in a southern city, Gu Junming was unaware. He was anxiously waiting, estimating that it would be these few days, but for some reason, since this afternoon, he had been feeling restless, his heart racing, sensing that something was about to happen.
A colleague saw him in this absent-minded state and understood, "Is your wife about to give birth?"
"Hmm, I don’t know." He anxiously looked out the window.
Someone advised, "Don’t worry, they’ll call you when there’s news."
"Hmm." Gu Junming seemed not to hear, staring outside, and it took him a long time to nod.
Someone handed him a cigarette, which he took and put in his mouth the wrong way. Realizing the taste wasn’t right, he quickly took it out. He didn’t smoke it, just crushed it in his hand and paced back and forth.
Everyone was secretly laughing, first time seeing this wise and clever leader so flustered!
Finally, the phone on the desk rang, and Gu Junming dashed over like a leopard to grab the phone.
"Hello, how is it?"
"She’s given birth! Your wife gave you a big healthy boy!" Jun Tao laughed.
"How is Sun Chan? Is she alright?" Gu Junming, smiling happily, quickly asked about Sun Chan, most concerned about his wife’s health.
Jun Tao laughed, "Don’t worry, she’s just exhausted and asleep, everything’s fine!"
"That’s good! I can’t make it over there, please take care of things, and also with dad..."
"No worries." Jun Tao laughed, "I’ll handle everything. You just wait to reunite with your wife and child!"
Gu Junming smiled so broadly that his mouth was practically at his ears. He kept laughing foolishly on the phone.
Jun Tao laughed, "Bro, I’ve known you for over twenty years and never seen you so happy."
"You rascal, enough with the nonsense! I have to get busy, don’t forget what I told you!"
"Got it, I’ll take care of things at home and with your wife and kid." Jun Tao couldn’t help but laugh.
After hanging up the phone, Gu Junming remembered he forgot to tell him the name he had chosen. He had seriously picked many names for a boy or a girl before, but never mind, he’ll tell them when they meet.
Meanwhile, Han Dong, having learned that Sun Chan had given birth, first asked about her condition. Knowing she was alright, he was relieved.
"It’s a pity it’s a son!" Zhao Jieyun laughed, "Didn’t you say yours would definitely be a son too? Now you can’t be in-laws. Weren’t you always so sure?"
"Who says, my wife’s definitely having a daughter, definitely going to be in-laws. Just wait, ma’am." Han Dong said confidently.
Three weeks later, he returned to X City, and his wife went into labor late one night in winter, giving birth to a son.
Han Dong looked at the child helplessly.
His wife blinked and smiled, "Not happy?"
"No, I just thought, I really am a jinx at predicting." But having a son made Han Dong’s parents very happy. They were overjoyed.
His mom said, "Finally on the right path! So relieved!"
Sun Chan took care of the child until almost two and a half months before bringing the child to reunite with Gu Junming in the south.
Gu Junming couldn’t come back for her baby’s one-month celebration, but sent her lots of southern fruits and food. Sun Chan was nursing the baby herself, but from taking care of the baby day and night, she hadn’t filled out much, yet had gained a mature feminine charm.
Wang Shufen was no longer in X City; after her husband retired, they returned to their hometown and opened a labor supplies store, so she went along. When she learned her sister-in-law had given birth, she came to help for a period, staying until the postpartum recovery ended. She also took many photos of her and the baby to show their parents in the village.
Sun Chan also gave Wang Shufen some money, asking her to help look after them: "Since I can’t be there for mom and dad, I’m counting on you."
"Don’t worry." Wang Shufen patted Sun Chan’s hair, "You’ve been through enough hardship, hang in there, better days are ahead."
"Yes, I know, big sis." Sun Chan smiled.
Wang Shufen hugged her, "Take care of yourself." She was very grateful to Sun Chan, without whose encouragement to move to the city, she’d probably still be stuck in the village unable to live peacefully due to rumors. Now life was vibrant, how could she not be grateful to Sun Chan!
Before heading south, Sun Chan attended Liu Enming and Wu Qiong’s wedding.
Their wedding banquet was quite large, drawing many important figures from X City, mainly to boost the clothing market venture Wu Dafu and Han Dong were collaborating on.
Wu Qiong’s makeup was dazzling, warmly welcoming Sun Chan. Liu Enming also wore a big smile, the couple seemed to have a good relationship.
Seeing old friends and classmates well settled made Sun Chan happy. Of course, she was happiest about reuniting with her husband.
Departure time soon came, since she was doing her postpartum recovery here, Zhao Jieyun didn’t need to accompany her.
Sun Chan, holding the baby, said goodbye to her parents and got on the car.
Zhao Jieyun was naturally worried. She kept reminding her, giving her various items, afraid there’d be inconvenience. Han Dong and his wife left their child with the Han Family elders and personally escorted her over.
They weren’t in a rush; both being able to drive, they took turns, stopping and going, taking nearly a week to reach the south. Along the way, they saw a lot of beautiful scenery.
On the road, Han Dong discussed with Sun Chan that his wife wanted to have another child, certain it’ll be a daughter, so he still wanted to arrange a future marriage.
Sun Chan laughed, "Forget it, I think your wife is naturally meant to have sons. No matter how many, they’ll all be boys."
Han Dong’s wife also laughed, "Exactly, I’ve calculated, if I have another, it’ll still be a son. Two brothers getting along is great."
Han Dong snorted, refusing to believe it, insisting it’ll be a girl.
The car arrived in the picturesque south, where Gu Junming stood at the door in his military uniform, waiting.
Sun Chan, carrying the child, walked quickly to him.
Their eyes were only for each other, filled with unbreakable affection. Gu Junming opened his arms to embrace his wife tightly. The child in his arms giggled.
Han Dong and his wife smiled as they watched the couple’s affectionate display.
Sun Chan felt incredibly happy at that moment, confident she would always be happy.
