Rebirth: Solely Cherished by the Devoted Commander
Chapter 96: Going to See Guihua
CHAPTER 96: CHAPTER 96: GOING TO SEE GUIHUA
Gu Junming smiled, "Does the commander have anything else? If not, I need to get busy."
"Wait a moment!" Gu Zishan suppressed his inner bitterness and said, "Now that your brother is about to have a blind date and get married, you should resolve your personal issues soon too. Since you don’t like the person we found for you, find someone yourself. Your grandfather is getting old, and he hopes to see you marry and have children soon. Your mother’s only worry on her deathbed was your marriage, and it’s something I owe her."
Upon hearing him mention his mother, Gu Junming felt a pang in his heart. He thought about it and realized it was indeed time to settle matters with Sun Chan sooner. He couldn’t let her heart remain unsettled, and even though Sun Chan didn’t say anything, Gu Junming knew she worried about not being accepted by his parents.
Gu Junming said, "Okay, I’ll bring my partner home next weekend."
"Are you serious? Whose daughter is she? Did you meet her in the army?" Gu Zishan was delighted, surprised that Gu Junming quickly found someone to marry!
"You’ll find out when the time comes. She’s a good girl." Gu Junming hung up the phone.
Gu Zishan paced back and forth, excitedly rubbing his hands together. Gu Junming was so busy in the army that he wouldn’t have had the time to meet other women. It must be a girl from the army, so the conditions can’t be bad!
Wang Guihua came over with some fruit and saw Gu Zishan pacing back and forth. She laughed, "What’s going on? Did Jun Tao call? Why didn’t you let me know?"
"It wasn’t the second son, it’s the eldest. Junming has found a partner!" Gu Zishan sat down and contentedly patted the sofa beside him. "I trust his judgment; the girl must be good."
Wang Guihua saw the smile at the corners of Gu Zishan’s eyes and wasn’t pleased. The treatment of the two sons was so different, wasn’t it? Jun Tao never saw you being so attentive when he was looking for a partner. You always claim to favor the second son the most.
Gu Junming is just a soldier without any background! What’s so special about him? What kind of good family girl could he find anyway? If he did find someone, wouldn’t I know something about it? It’s most likely just a village girl!
She waited to see a joke, but outwardly she smiled, "Really? With Junming’s conditions, the one he found shouldn’t be bad, I better prepare well."
"Prepare then! Make sure Jun Tao comes back as well! Our family should have a good meal together. Wait, if the girl’s parents are in town, shouldn’t we invite them as well?"
Wang Guihua laughed, "You’re really impatient; let’s meet the children first! When both parents meet, they’ll discuss marriage, and that’s too abrupt, isn’t it?"
"Alright, I’ll go check on Dad." Gu Junming stood up and walked towards the stairs.
As Wang Guihua watched her husband leave, her smile immediately faded. Jun Tao was also going on a blind date, but he didn’t even ask about it and left everything to her! How could this not make her angry?
Wang Guihua called Gu Juntao’s office, but he wasn’t there. They said he was on leave and had gone out. Wang Guihua hung up the phone unhappily, thinking about it, still feeling uneasy, she picked up her bag and walked out.
She’s planning to contact some good sisters and must introduce a girl with the best conditions.
Sun Chan had already gotten on the bus to find Guihua. On the way, she asked the driver to stop for a bit, and then she got off to buy a lot of milk powder, diapers, and malt extract, all packed in a big bag. These were what she needed last time, and Sun Chan remembered them.
When the bus arrived at the entrance to the village, it was already afternoon, and she quickened her pace, hoping to return to the city.
Just as she was halfway there, a car drove up from behind. Sun Chan instinctively stood at the side of the road to let it pass, but who knew the car stopped right beside her.
The car door opened, and Wang Dabao stuck his head out with a smile, "Is it Sun Chan? I thought it looked like you. Are you here to see my wife?"
Sun Chan nodded at him, "I want to talk to Sister Guihua about something." Suddenly, she saw a woman sitting in the passenger seat, wearing a red dress, looking very seductive, around twenty-seven or eight years old, with a flirtatious gaze looking at Sun Chan.
Sun Chan’s first feeling was that this woman was that fox spirit, daring to boldly bring her back home like this!
Wang Dabao seemed afraid that Sun Chan might misunderstand and quickly said, "This is Zhao Hong, my secretary."
"Is this the girl you know?" Zhao Hong smiled warmly, "Get in, let us give you a lift."
Sun Chan smiled and said, "No, I want to go to the small shop to buy something else. It’s not far from your house. You guys go ahead, I’ll be there soon."
"No need to be polite; just hop in. I’ll help you carry your things." Wang Dabao started to get out of the car.
Sun Chan saw there was a little shop nearby and said without looking back, "No need to trouble; I’ll be quick."
Wang Dabao had no choice but to give up, but just as he was driving away, he clearly heard Zhao Hong say, "How unappreciative! Such a hypocrite!"
Sun Chan pretended not to hear, but inside, she was fuming. Shameless woman! No wonder Guihua was so angry; with such a woman following Wang Dabao, it shows Wang Dabao’s taste isn’t great either.
She went to the small shop and bought two cans of food and a bag of peanuts.
The shopkeeper lady saw Sun Chan’s unfamiliar face and smiled, "You’re not from this village, are you?"
"No, I’m here to see Sister Guihua." When she paid, she suddenly smiled and asked, "I wonder how she’s doing now. Is she still running a business with her husband?"
"Yes, they’re discussing divorce now." The woman lowered her voice, "You know, for such a couple, who’ve had the best life in the village, they’re even going to get divorced! Everyone says Guihua lost her mind after giving birth... Oh dear! Look what I’m saying; don’t take it to heart, I was just joking!"
Sun Chan pursed her lips and smiled, "It’s fine, it’s mainly Wang Dabao’s issue. Guihua has no problem."
"Hehe, men are just like that, aren’t they? But once she divorces him, what kind of person can she find in the future, especially with a son, it’ll be hard to remarry! If you’re close, maybe try to persuade her, don’t make a fuss."
Sun Chan didn’t say anything, before she used to think that was right, but now she understands, divorce is nothing, why should one live life swallowing grievances!
She walked to Guihua’s doorstep and saw Guihua leaning there to welcome her. Sun Chan smiled and ran over with her stuff.
Guihua smiled, "You’re looking more radiant!"
"Sis! What are you saying, you’re the one becoming more beautiful!"
Guihua wore a white jacket and was much thinner than last time we met.
"Yeah." Guihua smiled, "Isn’t divorcing quite the physical undertaking, so I lost weight."
