CHAPTER 41: ASSULTED

No matter how heart-wrenchingly Laura, who sat on the ground, was weeping, Beauty clutched at her collar and legged it out of the villa.

Like an arrow shot out.

When the housekeeper came chasing with an umbrella in hand, the figure of Beauty had already disappeared into the pouring rain.

This was her first time running out of the villa due to a quarrel with Laura.

Having been in the Marson family for so long, she rarely ventured out of the villa.

Every day, drivers picked her up and dropped her off for school, and she would usually stay in her room drawing and writing if her tutor wasn’t around.

Fortunately, as soon as she got to the roadside, a taxi stopped.

Beauty silently hopped into the cab, wrapping her arms around her, a breeze causing her to shudder.

Half of the year in this City is spent in the rain, and with each fall rain comes a bit more cold, gradually lowering the temperature.

She was only wearing a short-sleeved home outfit, and the cuffs and collar were torn by Laura.

Even with the heater on in the car, she was still cold enough to get goosebumps all over. "Young girl, what’s wrong with you?

You weren’t abused by your parents, were you?"

The driver glanced at Beauty in the mirror and laughed.

Beauty didn’t speak, her eyes shining like the Milky Way were fixed on the dark scene outside the window.

Seeing that she didn’t speak, the driver chuckles to himself again, "This area only has one big villa, and looking at your clothes, you wouldn’t have run away from that villa, right?"

Upon seeing Beauty’s beautiful features once again, although her body leaned towards the thin side, the places that should have some voluptuousness appeared like gentle hillocks.

Her skin that had not been weather-beaten looked as white as mutton fat jade.

The driver who often frequented this place was familiar with the area and even more so with the villa’s Boss, Lucas, who was known as a golden bachelor.

Even though he never saw the man’s face, he knew that it was impossible for him to have such a grown-up daughter.

Thinking of this, his gaze towards Beauty held a bit of surprise and scorn.

Immersed in her own birthday, Beauty would not consider these aspects at all, having already been consumed by sadness.

Her strong and defiant eyes stared unwaveringly at the outside world, her rosy lips tightly sealed.

"miss, where do you plan to go?"

It was only then that Beauty pulled out of her thoughts, realizing that she had nowhere to go after leaving here.

She lit a moment in contemplation before softly saying: "The largest mall nearby."

The driver gave a light laugh: " miss, you’re in the prime of your life, don’t go down the wrong path!

There’s too much temptation in society, you’re still young and many matters aren’t as simple as you think."

After he said this, he let out a long sigh.

This advice from the driver left Beauty thoroughly confused.

Bewildered, she asked with wide almond-shaped eyes: "Sir, what do you mean by that?"

The driver smiled again, and he turned on the heater in the car.

The driver pursed her lips, "You’re still young, and if you go the wrong way, there’s no turning back.

It’s best for you, a young girl, to go home!

There’s a long road ahead and I’m not sure your frail frame can take it."

"Sir, what do you mean? I don’t understand what you’re saying."

As the driver spoke more and more, it just made Beauty even more confused.

She crossed her arms and pushed her hair behind her ears.

The car eventually stopped steadily at the entrance of a large mall.

The vast crowd sent a chill down Beauty’s spine, causing her to break out in a cold sweat.

Only then did the driver turn and look at her.

"Young lady, you should value yourself.

You can’t sell your body just for the sake of money!"

It was like she had been struck by lightning, Beauty nearly bit her tongue in shock, her face flushing beet red.

She had not expected the driver to think she was prostituting herself!

In a fit of indignant rage, her eyebrows furrowed.

Displeased and flushed, she stammered, "Uncle! You’ve really misunderstood!

I’m not the kind of girl who sells her body!"

When it was time to pay the fare, Beauty realized that she had run out in such a hurry, without a penny on her.

Seeing her awkwardly searching her pockets on her tracksuit, the driver sighed and shook his head: "Forget it, consider this as my good deed for the day, giving a free ride to a young lady.

If you’re not ’that kind’ of girl, then you must be a rich young lady.

How did you get yourself into such a state?"

Beauty covered the tattered corner of her clothes embarrassingly and offered a smile.

She quickly bowed to the driver and thanked him, "Thank you, good deeds will be rewarded.

If we are fated to meet again, I will definitely pay you back for the ride."

As soon as Beauty finished speaking, the driver waved his hand and drove off, splashing water all over the ground.

She quickly hopped off to avoid the splashes, and hunched as she walked towards the entrance of the shopping mall.

The people passing by all gave her incredulous looks.

Far off, a black Ferrari was parked on the side of the road, its lights blinking.

"Mr. Marson, shall we continue to follow?"

An assistant looked at Beauty, who was huddled at the entrance of the mall, and asked Lucas in a faint voice.

"Let’s see what she plans to do.

Does she think she can be free just by escaping from there?

Childish, and ridiculous."

His normally icy eyes sparkled with a hint of amusement.

He had been on a business trip overseas for so long, originally planning to come back to celebrate a certain someone’s 18th birthday, but was greeted by the sight of her running away from home.

Fearing she would encounter some scoundrel, he followed her all the way here, feeling both angry and anxious.

Beauty huddled in a corner, stroking her wet hair vigorously and sneezed involuntarily.

Regret filled her heart.

If she knew it would rain so heavily outside, she would have worn a coat, and taken an umbrella before stepping out.

Although it was morning, the entire atmosphere was overcast and gray.

The heavy rain blanketed the city, obscuring the far-off roads and pedestrians from view.

Hungry and cold, her face paled instantly, and her originally pink lips transformed into a pale purple hue.

"Little girl, would you like me to take you for some food and to buy some clothes?"

A tall man with yellow hair approached her. His bright eyes fixed on her drenched clothes, especially the torn collar of her dress, "No need, I don’t need any help."

Beauty raised her head, shooting the man a cold glare.

She leaned her back against the wall, attempting to ignore his presence with her gaze elsewhere.

Suddenly, a bawdy hand seized her arm.

The man’s predatory eyes were now fixated on her.

"What the hell are you doing!

If you continue touching me, I’ll scream!"

Beauty tried to shove the man away, but her hands were tightly clamped, rendering her unable to move.

His intruding hands now rested on her waist and slowly began to drift upwards.

In the distance, a car door swung open and Lucas emerged from the vehicle, dressed in a white dress shirt.

His tall figure stood dauntingly under the heavy rain, undeterred by the water pelting his head and clothes.

His assistant hurried behind him with an umbrella and coat.

Her body was pressed against the wall by the blond man, who was stooped over trying to rip her clothes off when Beauty bit his earlobe.

Being strangled, the taste of blood in her mouth made her face flush red.

Just as she thought she was about to get a harsh slap from the man that would dizzy her, another large hand intervened and blocked it.

The face of Lucas was magnified before her, and feelings of resentment and excitement surged from the bottom of her heart.

In an instant, her eyes were flushed red, and there was a faint redness at the corners of her mouth.

"Who the hell dares to ruin my good deed?"

The man’s words were cut off mid-sentence, confronted with the cold gaze of Lucas, he paused his movements and shut his mouth.
