CHAPTER 44: HOW TIME FLIES

After a stormy night, she woke up to a sunny day, as if everything that had happened yesterday was just a dream.

When Beauty woke up, her head was throbbing and her stomach was in discomfort.

She couldn’t recall anything from what had happened the previous day.

All she remembered was having some drinks with a perverted older man, then everything was a blur... Oh God!

he sprang upright from the bed, nearly hitting her knees against the bed frame.

Finding her bearings, she looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings.

It did not look like her room at all, but rather like a luxurious high-end hotel.

Lucas emerged from the bathroom wearing only boxers, a towel wrapped around his lower body, revealing his perfect abs.

Beauty was stunned.

"You...How could you be here... What did you do to me, you pervert?"

Beauty glanced at the towel draped around her, noticing that it matched the one Lucas was wearing.

This was a couple’s set!

Except hers was a bit girlier and smaller in size. Despite her slender physique due to regular body exercises, she stood quite tall at 1.63 meters, and she perfectly displayed her curves.

No one could overlook her at first glance.

Lucas grinned, revealing some new stubble around his lips that looked incredibly sexy.

For the first time, Beauty discovered that this infuriating pervert suddenly had a gentle dimple when he smiled.

It was just a slight indentation, making him look so gentle.

Without any rush, he dialed the front desk, requesting for their clothes and breakfast to be brought up to their room.

He then leisurely lounged on the couch, flipping through a financial magazine.

When the service staff came bearing clothes and breakfast, upon hearing the knock on the door, Beauty fled into the bathroom hastily.

There, she could still sense the lingering scent of masculine hormones.

The bathroom still held traces of warmth.

The fragrance of shower gel and men’s cologne rendered her cheeks burning hot.

Visions of Lucas shirtless kept replaying in her mind.

She brought a hand to her lips, couldn’t help but touch them.

She felt a sense of tenderness she was unaware of.

"Beauty, when did you become such a silly girl?!

That creepy old man might be charming, but remember, he’s a pervert, you can’t daydream about him."

Looking at her crimson-cheeked reflection in the mirror, Beauty, helpless, poked at the blushing young girl reflected there.

Her long eyelashes fluttered.

She practically spent over twenty minutes in the bathroom, sitting on the toilet lid until her legs started to go numb.

Had Lucas not knocked, she probably would have sat there all morning.

Lucas had changed his clothes in front of her, not showing the slightest consideration to avoid impropriety.

Of course, she dared not change clothes in front of him as she did in the car, she couldn’t let him think she was trying to seduce him.

As she stepped out of the building, only then did Beauty let out a long sigh of relief.

After she had her fill of food and drink, she didn’t feel like thinking about anything else.

"Do you remember what happened yesterday?"

Suddenly, Lucas, who was sitting in the front row, turned back and looked at her.

Beauty had a serious look on her face as she thought hard.

She really wanted to know what exactly happened yesterday, and how she ended up sleeping in the same room as him.

But she couldn’t remember anything at all.

Seeing her clueless expression, Lucas smirked, looking indifferent.

"If you can’t remember, then it’s for the best.

Nothing happened yesterday, just continue doing whatever you need to do in the future."

In the blink of an eye, she had been living in the Marson family villa for two years.

During these two years, the number of times she and Lucas met could be counted on one hand.

Initially, she thought Lucas often stayed outside because he was busy with work.

Later, she found out he had more than one villa in the city.

Now, only she and Laura live in this villa.

Over the years, she and Laura continued their squabbles, daily verbal fights and competitions, now even arguing over a boy.

Their enmity had escalated to become irreconcilable.

What annoyed Beauty the most was, no matter how much Laura misbehaved at school and with how many men she mixed around, Lucas never interfered with her.

Whereas for her, if even a male classmate approached her, she would be warned by the Marson family’s bodyguards.

Because of Lucas, hardly any male classmates or male teachers dared to approach her.

Only Luna quietly took care of her and sometimes even helped her shake off the bodyguards and drivers around her.

"You Beauty, tomorrow is the 40th anniversary celebration of our school.

They say that the biggest shareholder of our school will also be attending.

It’s going to be a bustling event.

Will you be participating?"

Hannah walked into the classroom, sat next to Beauty, and said with excitement while drinking water and propping up her chin.

Beauty put down her paintbrush and gave a faint smile.

Arching her eyebrows slightly, she said, "I’ve never been a fan of noisy events since I was little.

I certainly wouldn’t participate in such a thing.

On the other hand, you should sign up to be a host."

"Why?"

Hannah looked baffled as she slowly swirled the bottle in her hand.

"Did you know, when I just went to the restroom, I heard that your crush, Senior Samuel, will be the host of this school anniversary.

Are you looking forward to it?"

Hannah sighed with a face full of regret, holding onto Beauty’s hand.

Regretfully, she said, "It’s a shame, I’m so fond of him for my own sake, but he only has eyes for you.

Even a fool can see he likes you."

Beauty’s eyes were full of hope, her only goal now was to escape from Samuel as soon as possible.

Though she rarely sees that creepy old man, she knows he watches her every move.

Including her performance at school, her grades, who she hangs out with, and which boys in school sneakily confessed to her, how many have sent her love letters, he knows all about it.

In her eye, Lucas is even scarier than a devil.

It’s no longer apt to simply describe him as creepy, he is indeed a devil in disguise.

"All I want now is freedom, I don’t want to live under the peeping eyes of that creepy old man.

I am nineteen now, once I turn twenty-two, I will declare freedom, then I will work hard to make money, and pay back every penny he has spent on me over these years."

Beauty said with conviction, ignoring the white-eyed look of the girl next to her.

Though Hannah has never met Lucas in person, but all these years, from the rumors of schoolgirls and his images in magazine interviews and on TV shows, she thought that Beauty really doesn’t know how fortunate she is.

Having such a handsome, charismatic man by her side, yet she actually wants to cut ties with him quickly!

Indeed, women’s thoughts are sometimes really incomprehensible!

"Beauty, the head teacher is calling you to the office."

The class president came in exuberantly from the outside, grabbing her arm and panting heavily.
