Rebirth Swapped Bride: Married to a Ruthless Cursed billionaire Book2
Chapter 47: She is my Mine
CHAPTER 47: SHE IS MY MINE
As the event drew to a close, Beauty noticed Samuel leaning against a table, his face slightly flushed from alcohol.
He had shed his formal suit, leaving only a white shirt on.
Beauty approached him and greeted him; it was her first time seeing Samuel drunk.
He looked more charming than usual, almost like a young gentleman.
"Beauty , you look really beautiful tonight," Samuel said, hands tucked in his trouser pockets, he lifted his chin and smiled, revealing a small canine tooth.
Beauty was suddenly a bit flustered by his praise.
She ran her hands across her soft locks, her smile shy, her eyes warmly curved, a small dimple occasionally visible at the corner of her mouth.
Stage lights fell on her face, leaving specks of glow on her skin.
"Can we talk somewhere else?
I have something to say to you, and it’s a bit inconvenient with all these people around."
Samuel gazed at her flushed face, a slight nod from his chin seeking her consent.
Beauty followed him to a little garden at the back of the venue, the evening breeze lifting her hair and sweeping it against her face.
Samuel then leaned against a big tree, the light breeze carrying traces of floral fragrance permeated the air around them.
Beauty stood upright, struggling to appear calm.
Although she had a mild admiration for Samuel, and nothing more than friendly feelings for him.
Yet, the sight of him, who was like a handsome young man walked straight out of a manga, in this setting, still made her a little nervous and uneasy.
She didn’t know what he ultimately wanted to say to her, even harboring the anticipation tinged with a teenage girl’s hormone-driven excitement.
"Beauty, this bracelet was brought back from overseas by a friend of mine.
The first time I saw it in a magazine, I thought it was very suitable for you.
I hope you would like it," he said, pulling a small, pale purple brocade box from his pocket.
Beauty was momentarily taken aback.
Just by looking at the packaging, it was evident that it was top-tier and classy; it seemed like something she’d seen a celebrity wear in one of Hannah’s fashion magazines.
It was clearly of significant value.
The box opened to reveal a bracelet that was crystal-clear under the moonlight; each floral pattern was finely carved.
Nestled in the brocade box, it even seemed like a collector’s item.
"I can’t accept it.
Your gift is too expensive, I’m sorry..."
Possibly due to her background, she disliked owing anyone anything, especially debts of this substantial nature.
She didn’t know when she would have the ability to reciprocate.
Samuel was clearly taken aback, he hadn’t expected her to decline him so directly.
His face took on a look of startlement, with a hint of disappointment.
Beauty straightened her back and said indifferently, "This gift is too valuable, I cannot accept it.
If you truly wish to give me a gift, then play a piece of music for me.
Art is priceless, but just as precious."
Samuel lowered his head, looking straight at Beauty, clenching the purple box in his hands.
Beauty, I just think this bracelet suits you, it doesn’t have other implications, it’s really not something particularly valuable, you don’t need to feel pressured."
Beauty shook her head, smiling faintly.
What seemed like a small change to a wealthy son like him, was a fortune to her, one that was almost suffocating.
Suddenly, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed.
Turning her head, Beauty saw Lucas standing under the streetlight, his ever elusive expression intact.
Her heart pounded relentlessly.
She lowered her head, biting her lower lip, a sense of guilt flooding her as though she was caught in an act of deceit.
"Guy, whatever Beauty likes, our family is capable of buying it for her.
There’s no need for others to please her with gifts, these little tricks to woo young girls aren’t suitable for her," said Lucas coldly as he walked away, glancing sideways at Beauty which made her heart jump.
Her expression was that of a child who had been caught misbehaving by a parent, and she lowered her head slightly.
When Lucas once told her she wasn’t studying seriously in school despite using his money, preferring to mix with rich second-generation kids, she had glared at him, distraught and fuming.
Then, she slammed her hand on the table and retorted word after word, head held high, "In school, my grades are always in the top three, I have never let you lose face.
Besides, with a maniac like you sending people to monitor me every day, which boy from school would dare to associate with me!"
Today, she had been caught, and with a boy gifting her such a valuable present at that.
Though, in his eyes, the gift was no different from the $10 beads sold by the roadside.
He must be looking down on her in his heart!
As Beauty was immersed in her thoughts, Lucas came over.
With a cold gaze, he said, "The reason why I let you grow up in such an environment was so that small gifts from young boys wouldn’t sway you.
Looks like you really haven’t disappointed me!
Tell me what you like, I’ll have my assistant buy it for you."
He emphasized the word "disappointed" maliciously.
He took Beauty by the hand and prepared to leave.
"Mr. Marson, you are the largest shareholder of our school, everyone respects you for your success in your career, but that doesn’t give you the right to insult others, including Beauty and me.
We have our own personality and dignity, she doesn’t belong to you alone."
For the first time, Beauty, who had always been humble and soft-spoken, was upset.
His eyebrows furrowed as he stared coldly at Lucas.
"Kid, don’t think that knowing how to play piano will get you the girl.
One day, you’ll understand how silly that is.
What Beauty needs, only I can provide.
At least for now, she’s mine, not yours."
The typically silent Lucas Marson was surprisingly verbose today!
Normally, he would think it beneath him to bother with a young brat who’s years behind him.
For some reason today, the youthful vitality that had disappeared for so long suddenly came back.
He seemed a bit angry, but he couldn’t identify why.
Beauty was led by him, staggering along a cobblestone path.
He walked very quickly, not considering whether she was comfortable with her shoes.
Beauty’s face turned red from anger.
She was so tired, she pushed away his hand and sat down unhappily on a chair by the road.
Lucas gazed lazily at her, a vein throbbing at his forehead.
Two seconds later, he barely opened his lips, "Seems like my training wasn’t in vain.
Remember, don’t accept any gifts from men!
If I find out..."
"What will happen if you find out?
I have the freedom to accept gifts, and I don’t belong to you!
Mr. Marson, perverted old man, don’t think just because you are my guardian, I am just a doll for you to play with!
Beauty got up from the chair immediately in rage, stepped on the chair directly.
For the first time, she was looking down on Lucas.
This feeling was just too wonderful!
Lucas gave a cold smile: "What do you think I would do to you?
I have hundreds of ways to make you apologize to me.
Don’t think standing on that chair makes you that high gives you confidence."
Before Beauty could react, he pulled her down from the chair, leading to a startled gasp.
She fell right into his strong embrace.
