CHAPTER 54: HE BROUGHT A WOMAN HOME

Days later.

If Sarah was the first woman Beauty ever saw by Lucas’s side, then this woman was the first woman she encountered in his home.

Having been granted a mini vacation from school and with Laura not being home, Beauty was the only one left in the villa.

Relishing the peace, she slept till noon.

While passing by Lucas’s room, she surprisingly found his door slitly open.

Usually, whenever he wasn’t home, his door would always remain shut.

Assuming the maid was cleaning his room, she was about to walk away when she heard a woman’s voice coming from inside the room.

Just by her voice, the woman sounded as cheerful as a canary.

As though compelled by some unseen force, Beauty pushed open the door only to witness an unsightly scene.

Lucas was lying on the bed, half-naked, with an indecipherable expression on his face, neither pleased nor displeased.

A woman in a thin strapped dress was provocatively positioned on top of him.

The door let out a slight "squeak".

Startled, both the woman and Lucas simultaneously looked up at Beauty, their faces reflecting pure panic as though they had just seen a ghost.

"Who are you?"

Flushing from head to toe, the woman quickly got off Lucas, scrambled to tidy her clothes, looking like she was just slapped in her face.

Beauty stood on the spot, her hands fidgeting in anxiety, her expression indicating she had just done something wrong, and her lips were slightly pursed.

Had she known what was going on inside the room, even at knife point, she would not have dared to push the door open.

She sneaked a glance at Lucas, who remained poker-faced as always, his icy expression giving her a shiver down the spine.

The woman was draped in a bath towel, masking her curvaceous body, and glared at Beauty irritably, fire flickering in her eyes.

No woman would be pleased about someone interrupting her special moment with her beloved man.

Especially, when that someone was gorgeous, fair-skinned.

Women often unconsciously yearn for those prettier and younger than them.

"Lucas, who is this woman?"

The woman pointed at Beauty with a disgruntled look on her face, her tone dripping with sarcasm. Initially, she planned to apologize to them and let them carry on, pretending as if she hadn’t seen anything.

But the rudeness and sourness in the woman’s demeanor irritated her immensely.

Her starry eyes rolled.

After all, she knew that Lucas did not take another wife, even if he was in bed with this woman, it was merely the fulfilment of physical needs, a so-called "bed partner."

That makes things easier! Imitating the women on television who catch their husbands cheating, Beauty placed her hands on her waist and pointed at the woman.

With her head held high and indignant, she said,

"You, woman, dare question who I am!

Don’t you know I am the lady of this house?"

Lucas didn’t expect this twist from Beauty.

The original aloof face now shows a faint smile, looking like someone who is amused by a performance, his head tilted as he looks at her.

The woman was taken aback as her face instantly turned pale.

She turned to look at Lucas and stuttered,

"President Marson, I didn’t know that you’re married?"

Lucas remained silent, propping up his long legs, waiting for a certain woman’s reply.

Beauty rolled her eyes, immediately revealing a cunning expression.

If she’s going to act, she might as well go all the way, avenging her brutal grudge in the process.

She picked up the throw pillow from the sofa and tossed it at Lucas, hitting his muscular pecs and head repeatedly.

In the meantime, she cursed and ranted, "How dare you bring other women home!

You’ve sullied my bed by bringing a woman here.

I’ll kill this perverted freak!"

Lucas was caught off-guard.

He had drunk several bottles of whiskey the night before, and now his mind was a chaotic mess.

He was abruptly hit in the head with a pillow by Beauty.

The woman standing beside him had never seen anyone dare to treat Lucas this way, let alone him not fighting back, she found it absolutely unbelievable!

Her mouth was wide open, big enough to fit in a pigeon egg.

Beauty showed no signs of restraining herself, grabbing his arm hard enough to leave it bruised purple.

The woman swiftly picked up her clothes from the floor.

Her voice trembled, she said, "Mr. Marson...

I’ll let you sort out this...

I’ll leave now..."

Then, the room door was slammed shut with a "bang."

Only then did Beauty retract her "claws", her face beaming with satisfaction.

The next second, when she met his icy gaze, a shiver ran down her spine, and her heart nearly jumped out of her throat.

The pillow she was holding instantly fell to the ground.

Then, raising an eyebrow halfway, she started, "I mean... it seemed like you weren’t interested in that woman at all... even when she was doing all that... you weren’t..."

Her tongue suddenly tied itself up, almost biting herself.

The pain made her tighten her lips.

Her mind was screaming at her misfortune.

If she had known, she would have stayed in the room a bit longer, waiting for them to finish before coming out.

Now look what she’s done!

She has ruined this perverted old man’s good time, and who knows, he might eat her alive!

She was all too familiar with Lucas’s cold, sly personality.

The man on the bed rose, clad only in boxers, revealing tall and evenly proportioned legs.

One had to admit, his physique was too good, with perfect lines gracing his legs.

Beauty couldn’t help but gulp; she’d never seen a man’s body like this before, and to her, a physique like Lucas’s was definitely the cream of the crop among men.

"Have you seen enough?

If so, go to the kitchen and bring me a bowl of soup to sober up.

I drank too much yesterday and my head is still hurting."

In the past, if she had been this brazen about ogling him, he would have probably skinned her alive and hung her in the house, such was his fury.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t feeling too well today.

Divine intervention had graced her with a golden opportunity.

He might even forget this moment once he sobers up!

Beauty silently applauded herself, her eyes squinted with laughter.

Sunlight filtered in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting specks of light onto her face and nose.

The quiet tranquility and beauty of the scene left him stunned.

It wasn’t until Beauty’s figure disappeared from his line of sight that he picked up the pillow on the floor, a faint smile playing at his frosty eyes.

The smile reached the deepest corners of his eyes.

His lips curled slightly as he pulled a shirt from the wardrobe, standing with his back to the floor-to-ceiling window.

Sunlight fell on his hair and clothes, casting a unique warmth.

Beauty obediently went to the kitchen to bring up the sober-up soup and breakfast that the maid had specially prepared for Lucas.

Only upon seeing the warm bread and egg with tea did she remember that she hadn’t had breakfast herself.

Yet given the situation and the manipulative, twisted man before her, how could she possibly eat?

Walking into the room, Lucas had already freshened up and appeared full of energy, not at all like someone who drank too much.

"Have you had breakfast yet?"

"I... I’ve already eaten."

After she said this, her stomach embarrassingly grumbled.

She wished she could hide in a hole.

"Then let’s eat together! Isn’t it that husbands and wives should have breakfast together?"

Good heavens... She nearly choked to death on the bread!
