and 120 arrived one after another, and upon seeing the scene before them, almost thought a massive murder had occurred.

Fortunately, Gu Ningyue did not have any bloodstains on her, and it seemed she was also one of the victims.

People were sent to the hospital one after another, and at Chi Xingtong’s urging, Gu Ningyue also got into the ambulance.

Casually, while Gu Ningyue was feeling somewhat dizzy with pain, she made a call to Ling Tianyou.

By the time they arrived at the hospital, Ling Tianyou’s car had already arrived.

As soon as she got out of the car, Gu Ningyue saw a familiar figure running towards her with great urgency.

Ling Tianyou had always been steady, but this time Gu Ningyue saw panic on his face.

"How are you? Is it very painful?" Ling Tianyou looked at the pale-faced Gu Ningyue, his voice slightly altered.

Gu Ningyue bit her lip but still spoke to comfort him, "I’m fine, don’t make a fuss. Maybe applying some medicine will make it better!"

"You were lively when you went out in the morning, how come you’ve become like this by evening?" Ling Tianyou’s brows furrowed, "Don’t try to be tough. Let’s get an X-ray and see!"

Chi Xingtong looked guilty, "It’s all my fault; she got hurt because of me."

Ling Tianyou glanced at Gu Ningyue, "It’s not your fault, it’ll teach her a lesson, so she won’t recklessly stick her neck out in the future."

Despite saying this, he moved her body closer to his.

Just listening to Chi Xingtong ramble incoherently on the phone, he knew she must have tried to solve those people for Chi Xingtong, which resulted in this situation.

"Alas!" Chi Xingtong sighed, even though Ling Tianyou spoke this way, she still felt uneasy.

Fifteen minutes later, the attending physician held the X-ray and said to the pair next to him, "It’s a fracture, we need surgery!"

He heard that eight middle-aged men came along with the young girl, and the police said she was the one who hurt them.

Unexpectedly, she fights quite well.

"There won’t be any aftereffects, right?" Chi Xingtong asked urgently, "Will it affect the future?"

The attending physician shook his head, "That’s hard to say; if the recovery is good, then there shouldn’t be any issues."

Chi Xingtong’s pupils dimmed, she didn’t even know how she ended up following Ling Tianyou outside.

Only faintly hearing Ling Tianyou call the best doctor here, when she regained her senses, Gu Ningyue had already been taken into the operating room.

The assistant arrived, hesitantly glanced at the disheartened Chi Xingtong, "Mr. Ling, the police would like Miss Chi to give a statement regarding tonight’s events."

Ling Tianyou nodded, "I’ll accompany Xing Tong over. You stay here and inform me immediately if anything happens."

The assistant agreed, watching Ling Tianyou leave with Chi Xingtong.

The others brought in only had superficial wounds, which could be easily wrapped up and treated with a drip.

But since they were still undergoing IV therapy, they couldn’t be taken back to the police station, so the police had to take Chi Xingtong’s statement at the hospital.

"So, you’re saying these people were trying to kidnap you, but your friend injured them?"

The officer on duty, a young policeman, felt a bit incredulous looking at Chi Xingtong. He had seen the girl earlier, appearing feeble and not able to withstand an attack.

How did such a girl manage it?

"Yes." Chi Xingtong was entirely focused on worrying about Gu Ningyue’s condition, her reply was absent-minded, "If they sue us for excessive self-defense, I’ll pay whatever is needed. It has nothing to do with my friend!"

"Those people are currently accusing you of provocation, which makes the matter a bit complicated!" The young policeman scribbled a few lines, handing them to Chi Xingtong, "Please review and if everything is correct, sign at the bottom!"

Chi Xingtong was stunned, about to retort when Ling Tianyou spoke up suddenly, "Xing Tong, you go out first! I’ll chat with this officer."

Chi Xingtong nodded, signed the paper and turned to leave.

After an unknown amount of time, Ling Tianyou came out, "You should sit outside the surgical room for now, I’m going to check on those people’s ward."

Chi Xingtong asked what he was going to do, but Ling Tianyou shook his head and said nothing.

It didn’t matter if they didn’t confess; he had ways to make them admit.

Half an hour later, Ling Tianyou returned to Chi Xingtong’s side, "It’s resolved, don’t worry anymore."

Chi Xingtong nodded, though she hadn’t been in the country recently, she had an idea of Ling Tianyou’s reputation.

These people were merely small fry.

"Tianyou, who sent them?" Chi Xingtong seemed to finally snap out of her panic, considering the most crucial question.

Ling Tianyou glanced at her, "Let me handle this, no one will bother you in the future. Don’t worry!"

He already knew who the person was.

Someone who liked to use money to threaten and entice, yet remained far away abroad; they wouldn’t win true loyalty.

Seeing Ling Tianyou unwilling to elaborate, Chi Xingtong realized that no matter how much she asked, he wouldn’t say more, so she stopped asking.

"Do you really not blame me?" Chi Xingtong, though raised with privilege, wasn’t ignorant, "This issue really is my fault. I shouldn’t have suggested going to the movies..."

Ling Tianyou shook his head, "I don’t blame you; even if it hadn’t happened today, it might have happened later..."

Luckily, Gu Ningyue was there beside her, otherwise, given that person’s nature, Chi Xingtong might not have survived.

Thinking this, Ling Tianyou felt slightly relieved.

Yet when his gaze fell on the bright red ’In Surgery’ sign, he couldn’t help but feel a pang in his heart.

Gu Ningyue really doesn’t let him rest easy!

The assistant checked the time and went outside to buy some items, handing them to Ling Tianyou and Chi Xingtong, "President Ling, Miss Chi, have something to eat!"

Chi Xingtong accepted the hamburger and milk but had no appetite at all.

Yet Ling Tianyou quickly finished what was in his hand.

After waiting for an indeterminate period, the light at the operating room finally turned green.

Gu Ningyue was pushed out, her eyes closed; the injured hand wrapped like a mummy.

"The surgery was very successful; as long as she recuperates well, there shouldn’t be any issues."

Chi Xingtong rejoiced at the news, finally feeling relieved.

Ling Tianyou had long arranged a special ward, asked the assistant to purchase necessary items, and advised Chi Xingtong to head back first.

When Gu Ningyue opened her eyes, it was already midnight.

She saw only a blur of white, leaving her disoriented, "Where am I?"

Ling Tianyou, resting at her bedside, heard her voice and lifted his weary head, "You’re awake?"

Gu Ningyue saw his strikingly handsome face, recalling something, "Am I injured?"
