CHAPTER 21: CHAPTER 21 WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, SEND HER ON HER WAY

The fatty didn’t want to talk, but Yunyi’s gesturing across his neck scared him into confessing everything. "They told us to hand you over to the human traffickers."

Upon hearing this, Yunyi’s face immediately darkened.

So, Hua Wanqing was right. The Shen Family truly is capable of anything—utterly despicable, she thought. To think they’d actually target me, a lone orphan girl! Since that’s the case, I’m even less inclined to let the Shen Family off the hook.

Just then, the other two men, who had been circling around without finding anyone, also started heading this way.

Yunyi was pondering how to deal with these men when suddenly, the sound of chaotic footsteps erupted from the mouth of the alley.

Before Yunyi and the others could react, they saw a tall man clutching his arm rushing over from the distance.

Before the fatty and his comrades could react, the other group had already made their move.

Yunyi realized that if she didn’t act, she might very well die here.

With a swift backhand, she shoved the fatty who had been grabbing her directly into the path of the attackers.

Using the cover of darkness, she swiftly used her will to retrieve a cleaver from her spatial kitchen. Grasping it firmly, she wasted no time in slashing at the hand reaching for her.

The man, caught off guard, was struck squarely by Yunyi’s blade. He let out a scream of ’AH!’, startling everyone.

The men who were about to capture the fugitive who’d fled into the alley all turned to look. The leader’s eyes glinted coldly. "Old Four, what happened to you?"

The man called Old Four announced grimly, "This wench has a knife!"

Upon hearing this, a savage look contorted the leader’s face. "What are you waiting for then? Finish her off!"

My brother must have been careless, he figured. Even if the little wench has a knife, she’s nothing to fear. We live our lives on the edge of a blade, after all.

Yet his words only served to infuriate Yunyi. They want to kill me? I’ll show them what I’m capable of! she thought, her anger flaring.

Without any further hesitation, her hand moved like lightning, delivering several slashes to the man who was about to strike her. The sheer speed of her movements stunned him; he didn’t even have time to cry out for help before collapsing to his knees.

Yunyi’s slashes were precise: each one drew blood, yet none were immediately fatal.

Seeing the man kneeling, she paid him no further mind and turned her attention directly to the leader. He dared to order his men to kill me? He’s truly got a death wish!
