CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 32 ARGUMENT AND SEPARATION

Originally, Third Brother’s affairs had thrown the family into an unbearable uproar. Now, the news from the Public Security Bureau had plunged the household into even greater chaos.

She hadn’t requested leave that afternoon because she simply couldn’t bear to stay at home any longer. Since she couldn’t find Yunyi, she’d decided to go to her work unit for some peace.

She had planned to leave work early to find Yunyi and coax her into transferring the job paperwork to her before Yunyi left. But she hadn’t expected this bolt from the blue.

Given the current situation at home, if she also lost this job, the neighborhood committee would definitely pressure her to go to the countryside. She truly hated Chuyunyi to the core.

No, right now she hated Su Aiyu even more. If Su Aiyu hadn’t seduced Third Brother, leading to them being caught in the act, Chuyunyi definitely wouldn’t have been so decisive.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Without changing her clothes or requesting leave from her superiors, she rushed straight home.

Meanwhile, the Sun family home was once again in an uproar.

The reason was simple: the connections the Su Family had sought couldn’t save Sun Ruiming and Su Aiyu. There was no leeway to mitigate their situation.

The reputations of both the Sun and Su families were naturally affected, and now several of the daughters-in-law were clamoring to divide the household.

Even the words of Father Sun, the head of the household, were useless. The situation distressed Mrs. Sun so much that she fainted.

When Sun Xiaoyan rushed back and saw the chaotic scene, she completely broke down.

And that was far from the worst of it. The Hua family and the Gu family seized the opportunity of Sun Ruiming’s scandal to move against both the Sun and Su families.

Of course, the Sun family members didn’t know this yet. They were only focused on drawing a clear line with Sun Ruiming, hoping not to be dragged down by him.

When Father Sun saw his youngest daughter return, he asked, "Yanzi, why are you back at this hour?"

Everyone in the room turned to look at her, their faces filled with confusion.

Sun Xiaoyan said, her eyes red, "Dad, that bitch Chuyunyi, she transferred her job to someone else!"

Father Sun didn’t immediately understand. It was Liu Sishui, the family’s second daughter-in-law, who spoke first, "Who did she transfer her job to?"

Hearing the question, Sun Xiaoyan was also a bit dazed. Right, she’d been so furious she forgot to ask! She shook her head. "I don’t know."

For a moment, the room fell strangely silent.

The eldest daughter-in-law burst out angrily, "If Third Brother hadn’t been so greedy, always wanting more than he had, and hadn’t caused such a huge mess, our family wouldn’t be in this state! This life is unbearable! If we don’t divide the household, I’m divorcing and taking the children back to my parents’ home!"

Hearing her eldest sister-in-law’s words, the second daughter-in-law chimed in, "That’s right! We must divide the household!"

The room erupted into chaos again. No one paid any attention to Sun Xiaoyan’s job situation or what would happen to her if she had to go to the countryside.

In the end, Father Sun was so exasperated by the arguments that, before he could even figure out how to get his third son out of trouble, the family decided to split up.

But this division of the household was laughably simple. The house was small, so even if they "divided," they would all still live together. Besides, there was currently nothing of value to divide.

Not a single penny, not a single ounce of grain.

The terms of the division were straightforward: henceforth, the main house (the eldest son’s family) and the Second House (the second son’s family) would cook their meals separately from the rest of the family. The possessions in their respective rooms would be their own, while everything else would belong to the old couple. The third son, Sun Ruiming, the fourth son, Sun Xingming (who was in the countryside), and the youngest daughter, Sun Xiaoyan, would remain with the old couple.

Even so, both the eldest and second daughters-in-law agreed. And so, the Sun family was effectively broken up.

When Mrs. Sun woke up and discovered the family had divided, she almost fainted again.

Father Sun went out for a while. When he returned, his expression was even grimmer. "Wife," he said to Mrs. Sun, "pack Ruiming’s things. I’ll take them to him first thing tomorrow morning."

Mrs. Sun, still not fully recovered, reacted slowly. "Pack what?"
