CHAPTER 400: CHAPTER 400: ISN’T OUR RELATIONSHIP PROGRESSING A BIT TOO FAST?
Bellamy Homes was quite used to Old Mrs. Bennett’s impulsive nature, yet she couldn’t help but feel a bit frustrated at the moment.
She glanced at Bella Green. It wasn’t that she disliked her, but she couldn’t bring herself to appreciate Bella’s modest Green Family background.
Not to mention, Bella had claimed she was all alone in the world.
However, since Mason liked her—liked her to the point of disregarding conventional norms—Bellamy wasn’t a narrow-minded mother.
Upon hearing these words, Bella couldn’t deny being touched; her heart felt as if it was filled with a warm spring, cozy and delightful.
All her warmth came from Mason, and now, there was someone else who was willing to love and accept her like this.
The familial love she lacked from the Green Family was fully compensated for by Old Mrs. Bennett.
Bella couldn’t help but burst into laughter, her eyes turning red from it.
"Grandma, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, but actually, I’m the second young lady of the Green Family."
The two women in the living room were stunned upon hearing these words.
They looked utterly surprised, or perhaps incredulous.
"You say, you’re the second young lady of the Green Family? The one engaged to Mason?"
Bella nodded awkwardly; she had just claimed to be all alone...
However, that wasn’t exactly a lie; after all, the Green Family had nothing to do with her.
Old Mrs. Bennett looked at her, then at Mason, and couldn’t help but laugh.
"No wonder you two are fated to be together, mutually liking each other, with even a marriage engagement tying you. Oh dear, daughter-in-law, your muddle-headedness led to a correct outcome!"
Seeing Old Mrs. Bennett’s smiling face, Bellamy couldn’t help but laugh as well. Who would have thought that fate could work in such mysterious ways?
The engagement had originally been mentioned to break them apart.
Little did they know, one party to the engagement was actually Bella.
Yet upon thinking of this, a hint of suspicion inevitably rose in Bellamy’s heart.
Before she could think further, Old Mrs. Bennett interrupted her train of thought.
Old Mrs. Bennett chatted with Bella until past nine, finally letting her go under Mason’s insistence.
On the way back, Bella sat in the car, continuously chuckling foolishly.
Mason glanced at her smiling face, his eyebrows slightly raised.
"So happy?"
Bella looked at him, smiling without saying anything. She couldn’t express or explain her complex and tangled feelings to him.
After a while, Bella suddenly sensed something was amiss.
"Hey, did you take the wrong direction?"
The previous turn-off to the Green Family had just passed.
"No," Mason answered as if it were obvious.
Bella looked for a long time before realizing where this road was heading, and her cheeks flushed. She stole a glance at Mason.
"Isn’t our relationship development a bit too fast?"
They had only just confirmed their relationship. Did other couples progress this quickly?
Mason, hearing her words, eyed her deeply but responded with a puzzled expression, "What’s too fast?"
Bella was taken aback, then turned her face away, blushing, "You tell me."
Mason glanced at her, suddenly comprehending, slightly surprised.
"There are guest rooms at my place."
Upon hearing this, Bella’s expression froze, her slightly reddened cheeks darkening a shade.
"What are you thinking?" Mason suddenly asked, then moved a bit closer, a faint smile tugging at his lips, "Or are you hinting at something?"
Bella: "..."
"Hint, my foot! Keep your eyes on the road, you scoundrel!!"
