CHAPTER 1443: LUCIFER’S NEW DREAM WEAPON

Lucifer’s scythe absorbed all the materials, including the crystal I took a whole Chapter to make, and absorbed them into its entire being completely.

The scythe changed shape, quickly turning into a giant mass of flames, a specter of pure fire in the faint shape of a ferocious, aberrant dragon.

Lucifer felt its power rising, as his entire body was encompassed by Abyssal Death Flames, until he was forced to turn into a giant dragon to resist the immense power.

"Uooogghh! It feels like my power is rising! W-What is this?! My very flames are evolving! A-Amazing!"

FLAAASH!

And then, everything turned white for a minute, before everything went back to normal a second later, revealing Lucifer’s dragon form resting, and in one of his giant hands.

There it was a giant sphere of blue, black, and red flames constantly swirling, growing larger and the shrinking, as if pulsating like a heart.

"Looks like it’s done?" I wondered. "Sorry, was that too tiring or surprising?"

"It certainly was...!" Lucifer complained a little. "But it was still incredible, I can feel this power course through me!"

He closed his palm, the giant fireball exploded into flames that coursed through his entire body, encompassing him completely once more.

And then, the flames returned back to his right hand at his orders, turning into a gigantic blazing scythe, its appearance as a weapon had changed very little, but the flames themselves had gained more vibrant colors and intensity.

And I was pretty sure there were even red eyes within it... But that’s for Lucifer to figure out what could that truly be.

Nonetheless, evolving Lucifer’s abnormal Dream Weapon was a success! And this also gave me a lot of insights about what is a Dream Weapon and how we can influence them or even abuse them to upgrade our own innate powers.

For example I can now create Dream Weapons too, if I assign... Let’s say, my own Shadow Realm as a Dream Weapon, could it be possible to do it? And then I upgrade it, and the Shadow Realm evolves even further.

Interesting, right? Seeing how in this world literally anything can be a Dream Weapon, the possibilities are pretty endless.

"Looks like your Abyssal Death Flames evolved into Abyssal Death VOID Flames, huh?" I giggled lightly. "I suppose the Void Element has made them stronger, and weirder?"

"Yeah," Lucifer nodded. "I suppose this is an important element to have at our current level, seeing we’ll fight even stronger beings in the future, the power of Void can bypass most things, becoming an excellent offensive element, even more now as it is added to my flames."

Lucifer was quite happy, so I was happy as well.

"Alright then! Who else wanted their Dream Weapons evolved?" I asked.

And then I ended getting surrounded by the majority of our group. Emeraldine, Partner, Celes, and Arachne all wanted their Dream Weapons evolved. Meanwhile Nia, Jonathan, and Arthur were trying to calm them down.

"Me! Mee, auntie Maria! Pleaseee!" Cecil kept asking me. "I bet my trident-tipped spear could become a real trident! Or a cool water staff like that of big sis Alma!"

"Me too! I wonder what my Dream Weapon is?" Arachne said. "Oh, maybe my spider legs!"

"My spears! Master! My spears please!" Partner kept insisting.

"My bow too, please?" Emeraldine asked gently.

"C-Come on, calm down Celes, don’t be so greedy..." Nia tried to calm down her son.

"Hey, stop asking of Maria so much..." Jonathan sighed.

"I already told you to leave sister alone for once...!" Arthur groaned annoyedly.

"Okay, okay, calm own, let’s check if it’s possible to evolve them first," I said. "Every Dream Weapon requires enough Dream or Nightmare Energy absorbed before it can evolve."

I checked everyone’s weapons and...

Nope, aside from Nyx and Lucifer, none of them were qualified for evolution yet!

"Looks like none is qualified yet, we have to hunt more Nightmare Beasts, see?" I said. "Emeraldine, you could shot arrows from the carriage if you’re too tired, how about that?"

"S-Sure! I had thought about that, yes," she nodded. "I don’t even need to pull a string anymore either with magic arrows." She quickly walked back to the carriage and sat down comfortably; her Divine Spirits floated around her alongside her bow.

"Eh, I guess we need to hunt more critters then," Partner said. "I don’t think it’ll be that hard to find them around this place. It is enormous after all."

"Yeah..." Nia nodded. "But I am quite lost, where should we go? Um, is there a destination to this journey other than hunting?"

"Yes, there is one," I nodded. "I think this place might be related with the Nightmare Void, the Nightmare Sea, and where the Nightmare Demon King Castle could be located."

"Huh? Y-You mean we’re on our way there?" Jonathan wondered. "But..."

"Yeah it’s mere speculation for now, but we do have someone that could help out," I smiled. "Alright Beatriz, wakey-wakey~!"

I summoned a black cat from my shadows, as Beatriz appeared from it, stretching her body and meowing almost instinctually.

"W-What do you... meow want?" She wondered angrily. "Nyah?! W-What is this place?!"

She gasped in disbelief, looking around in surprise at the immense, ancient landscape before us.

"Don’t tell me you don’t know either?" I wondered. "This is apparently some sort of ancient underground world... Like a Hollow Earth type thing. We found this hole after a giant Nightmare Beast Kaiju broke the surface of the island."

"Hundreds of giant Nightmaresaurs appeared swarming us after that!" Nyx said. "Beatriz, you don’t know anything about this place. Is it related with your dad’s castle?"

"T-This place..." Although she seemed confused at first, Beatriz’s eyes suddenly widened, realizing she knew something. "Yeah... I’ve been here before- Not exactly where I’m standing right now, but... in this jungle."

"You do? Nice!" I said happily. "So?"

"This place... it’s called the Ancient Nightmare Field," she explained. "I visited this place with my father and my family when I was just a newborn. I was told to hunt to survive and then get back home through a Gate... There’s a Gate inside a Mountain, I remember that!"
