CHAPTER 1445: EXPLANATIONS

As we talked with Beatriz about this place and if she knew it, she began explaining things very... weirdly, was she hungry or something?

"Hmm, it’s a little complicated, but I suppose I could explain it to you," Beatriz said. "Imagine the world like a big fun, okay?"

A big bun? What?

"The big bun has a delicious curry flavored filling. Hmm, and now I’m hungry. Anyway, what was I saying? Ah yeah, imagine the world as a big doughnut with chocolate on top- Oh wow, that sounds really nice."

As she spoke, she began imagining delicious food while drooling, she seemed to be quite hungry, indeed.

"Ah! Okay, so the doughnut it filled with... delicious custard cream. And... and there’s the hole in the middle, so that’s where all the negative energy goes, and it created like... a hole in space!"

Wait a second now it is a doughnut instead of a bun? What’s going on with her dumb explanations?

"And this hole in the world, at the center of the doughnut, distorted its surrounding area, but the range of its distortion was not that big at first, so only the interior was reshaped... and that’s how this place was born. Get it?"

Wait, huh?

So the negative energy of the people, she meant?

And that created a hole... what?

"Eh?"

I looked back at the rest of my family; they were just as confused as I was.

We could barely understand what she was even trying to say!

"Beatriz, if you’re that hungry just tell me!" I sighed. "Here, I still have some doughnuts saved in here and some snacks, and drinks, eat up."

"Ooohhh!" Beatriz quickly turned into her original Nightmare Demon form, but with a big pair of cat ears and a long cat tail for some reason, something she didn’t realize she had. "I was hungry!"

Although Nightmare Demons feed off Dream Hearts and the Nightmares of people, especially their Negative Emotions and even their Souls, Beatriz was a little different.

With her contract with me, she can replenish her internal energies with my own Dream Essence, Nightmare Essence, or even my Mana and Spiritual Energy.

Just like any of my other Familiars do.

Because of this, she doesn’t need to eat Dream Hearts or steal the dreams or nightmares of people to consume, even less eat souls!

However, she still feels hunger, and this hunger is because her body needs some nutrients that she can’t get from energy injections alone.

Hence, she has to eat to keep her calories high so she can use all her powers and stuff, also why she’s napping so much.

She told me she had become a bit sleepier since her contract with me, probably because of such reasons.

"Nom, nom, nom...!"

She ended up eating all the doughnuts in just a couple bites, then drank half a bottle of cold tea with honey and lastly began snacking on a potato chips bag.

"Now I feel much better meow."

"Meow?"

"Huh? I-I didn’t meant to say that nya!"

"Nya?"

"W-What the hell is wrong with me?!"

Beatriz glanced at herself through the reflection of a nearby puddle, realizing the dangers of acting like a cute cat for way too long.

Well, not that long right? It has barely been like five days.

"You’re turning more cat-like, which is cute," I giggled. "Anyway, Beatriz! Back to the point, alright? We can’t be wasting too much time."

"R-Right, okay, let me just do this," she waved her hands, creating a projection and images.

"{Dream Projection}!"

FLUOSH!

The projection was like a movie she could manipulate by using her imagination and her memory, she showed us a planet floating in the middle of space.

"Okay so from what I could figure out myself, here’s the planet we live on, right?" She asked. "So what’s going on with this entire phenomenon is that the Negative Energy accumulated over eons within the planet’s core has begun to flow out into the surface."

She showed the planet’s core inside, which wasn’t a blazing molten core of steel as we imagined, it was a giant black sphere.

"W-Was that always the core of this planet?" Asked Emeraldine.

"I don’t really know..." Beatriz said. "But this is what was created from the Negative Energy of... not only just Humans."

"Wait, so humans aren’t...?" Partner muttered.

"Don’t jump to conclusions, before humans existed there was life. Living beings hunted one another to survive, some ate and killed, and others escaped and lived. Those that were killed, and those that hunted generated Negative Energy from their own reactions, and sensorial instincts," Beatriz explained with a smile.

"As life continued growing more and more complex, this energy exuded by all life that could at least hunt one another began to evolve. More complex and social bonds, more emotional reactions, communication, and more. Even though animals aren’t sapient like humans, they show emotions, and they also create bonds and fight to survive and reproduce."

The image of the planet showed countless living beings across millions of years, each one leaving a tiny speck of darkness which ended sinking into the planet’s core.

"I don’t know how the planet’s core was before, if it was hollow or not, but at some point this accumulation of Negative Energy must have somehow distorted space! Creating the Nightmare Void Sea, a dimension of its own within the interior of the planet." She explained.

"Wait, what...? So it’s inside of the planet!" Jonathan said.

"Yeah, long before humans existed, this Dimension already existed, but it was much weaker," she explained. "Nonetheless, over eons, its Nightmare Miasma irradiated into the environment, creating the Ancient Nightmare Fields inside of the planet’s Hollow Core, and this is how this massive place was formed, surrounding the Nightmare Void Sea, the Dimension where Nightmares originate from was this place! It ended mutating and creating countless Nightmare Beasts, that exist even now within these jungles."

And the images showed the planet’s core irradiating darkness into its surroundings, twisting everything and creating this giant Nightmare Field inside of the planet itself.

"And from there on, it continued expanding, as more and larger creatures roamed everywhere, this place probably became a cradle for new, alien life the surface had never seen before!"
