Reborn as a Hatrack in the Mystical Land
Chapter 405 - 50: Chaotic Dark Techniques
CHAPTER 405: CHAPTER 50: CHAOTIC DARK TECHNIQUES
When he saw the name Xi Yuan, he broke down.
For so many years, Ximing had always hoped to find his younger sister.
He worked hard to learn various Dark Techniques, completing every task, just to become a Judgement Envoy sooner and have the chance to recognize his sister.
But he watched with his own eyes as his sister, right in front of him... he could not forgive himself, he hated, he regretted, but what use were these feelings now.
Belief, his biological sister, and the Chaos Egg that must be returned to the Divine Court.
She was his only relative in this world.
Thus, he took the initiative to return the Chaos Egg to the Divine Court, he originally wanted to take the Chaos Egg and leave the Divine Court forever, but as they passed by the Xuan Beast Ridge, that thought-to-be unhatchable Chaos Egg, released an extremely resentful Dark Power.
With guilt towards his sister and the Chaos Egg, Ximing was severely injured, and the Chaos Egg, lost all its vitality, deemed forever unhatchable.
In utter despair, he left the Divine Court, and Song Mu, citing Ximing’s disappearance en route, took the Chaos Egg back to the Divine Court.
After hearing this story, Guo Ziyu was in tears, finally understanding why Ximing couldn’t sleep peacefully during the initial period, and why he kept having nightmares.
The scythe of the Chaos Mantis still lingered at Ximing’s throat.
It was just a half-blood Dark Insect that hatched not more than an hour ago and didn’t understand human affairs, it seemed to be understanding Song Mu’s words, its triangular head continuously shaking.
The man in front of it, weeping like a child, emitted such intense sorrow that it felt a very familiar sensation.
It was the same feeling as ten years ago, the woman who shed tears on its eggshell, the woman it called mother.
The Chaos Mantis hesitated, not understanding much of human emotions, its body filled more with the savage blood of a Xuan Beast.
"Don’t kill him, living is already the most painful thing for him." The few people inside the room were also shrouded by an indescribable emotion, only Yue Jinghua stood aside, her eyes bright as morning stars, her voice like a stream flowing into the heart of the Chaos Mantis, touching a nerve, "Your enemy is not him, but the evil experiment that caused the misfortune of you and your mother."
In the belly eye of the Chaos Mantis in the Divine Court, a glimmer of understanding flashed.
"Swoosh—" its transparent wings on its back flapped, rising into the mid-air.
"Ao ao, ugly, it wants revenge," the Gold Eater Worm, which had been rolling on the ground was the first to react.
Oh no, Yue Jinghua only intended to shift its intention of killing Ximing, who knew that this naive Chaos Mantis, which had no concept of strength, would immediately direct its spearhead towards the Divine Court.
Let alone it being just a half-changed mantis neither human nor beast, even if it had completed the entire purification process, striking at the Divine Court was undoubtedly like throwing an egg against a rock.
"Stop it," Yue Jinghua immediately signaled to Ximing and Guo Ziyu, "The past is the past, cherish the people before you."
Sensing that some people were trying to stop it, a sound like the tolling of a bell suddenly emanated from within the house.
The eyes of the Chaos Mantis lit up, and a strange force, overwhelming as Mount Tai, bore down on them.
Everyone inside, including the Gold Eater Worm, was immobilized, as if petrified, unable to move.
"Ahhh, it can actually cast a group immobilization, truly perverse," the Gold Eater Worm cried out, and the people could only watch helplessly as the Chaos Mantis flapped its wings, disappearing into the starry sky.
"Damn it, it must be going after the Goddess and her group, this is troubling," Song Mu was immediately frustrated. He had originally come to warn Ximing to leave Xuan Beast Ridge, unaware that he would encounter such a scene; he couldn’t bear to see his good brother wronged and spilled the truth about the situation, not expecting the Chaos Mantis to possess such capabilities.
The immobilization prohibition lasted for a full thirty minutes before it gradually wore off.
Once the prohibition ceased, Ximing made a move to rush out but was stopped by Yue Jinghua.
"If you’re going to die, do it together. Going like this, you’d not only fail Ziyu but also fail the good brother who ventured here to bring the news," Yue Jinghua’s words struck like a thunderbolt, awakening Ximing, who was already full of regret.
Looking at his tear-streaked wife and the concerned face of Song Mu, Ximing’s feverish mind quickly cooled down.
"You? It’s you!" Song Mu only then recognized Yue Jinghua. Wasn’t this the girl who, not too long ago, had several interactions with him and the Divine Son? Only now her attire from the Imperial City seemed different, and her demeanor, sharpening day by day, commanded respect.
"Don’t ’you’ me, has that cunning man come yet?" Yue Jinghua raised an eyebrow, quickly strategizing in her mind. Judging by the guards accompanying Sha Xi, the Chaos Mantis wouldn’t easily make its move soon; though it appeared to have unique talents, facing a large group of mercenaries wouldn’t be so easy.
Song Mu thought quietly for a long while before he realized Yue Jinghua was referring to the Divine Son in his household, and immediately said annoyed, "The Divine Son is extremely noble; how dare you insult him."
"What Divine Son, Divine Daughter, aren’t they all just deceivers and crooks, full of schemes? Don’t talk back, can’t you say that the mantis that just flew out isn’t a calamity born from Divine Court," Yue Jinghua snorted, watching Song Mu’s reaction, confident that Zong Shaoqing would soon arrive; though unsure whether Zong Shaoqing was loyal or treacherous, at least he had been friendly towards her.
"That... that’s just the doing of the Third Hall and Ninth Hall Elders along with Lord Sha Yan. Both the Divine Son and the Great Elder oppose this," Song Mu stammered, clearly indicating that even within the Divine Court, the power was segmented.
"Words are useless; the Chaos Mantis was hatched by me, in a sense, I am its guardian. Alive, I must see the thing; dead, it’s mine to repossess. As for Ximing, your identity has been exposed, your appearance would make Divine Court suspect that the past incidents are about to be exposed, bringing unnecessary trouble to everyone. You and Ziyu, head immediately to the High Mountain Breeding Farm at Mazaro Mountain, seek an Array Master named Qian Luo; she will transport you tens of miles away to Fengdan County. As for what follows, Song Mu and I will keep you informed. Do not act rashly,"
After repeated persuasions from Guo Ziyu and Song Mu, Ximing reluctantly agreed to Yue Jinghua’s request, harboring doubts as he and Guo Ziyu headed to Mazaro Mountain.
Song Mu then returned to the inn where Sha Xi stayed, keeping an eye on the Chaos Mantis’s movements.
After everyone had left, Yue Jinghua couldn’t help but ponder a more serious issue—the Chaos Egg from which the Chaos Mantis had hatched was produced ten years ago.
During these ten years, Yue Jinghua believed the experiments of Divine Court never ceased; what she worried about now was just how many similar Chaos Eggs Divine Court possessed, and how many of those had been successfully hatched?
