Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress
Chapter 799: Who Do You Think I Am?
CHAPTER 799: CHAPTER 799: WHO DO YOU THINK I AM?
This was why Arabella originally asked Alwin to make her invisible so they would not see her. She did not want them to waste their energy bowing to her and thanking her.
However, Alwin insisted she remained visible and said it was a good thing they recognize her so they know she was the one who helped them and would not be against Valeria anymore as they did in their past life.
Dimo and Blanca do not know how to cast invisibility magic so Arabella had no choice but remain visible like this, hoping they would simply not notice her.
They still do though since there were not many people here yet. Once things get busy, less and less people would notice her.
Arabella smiled warmly and nodded for them to be at ease.
Shortly after, magicians arrived simultaneously with more Prudencians with them so everyone got busy as the room gradually got filled with people.
All the Prudencians that were rescued were injured and visibly malnourished.
It was clear how the pro-slavery faction did not take Valeria’s words seriously since they still did not take better care of the Prudencians despite the warnings.
[She’s the Empress, right? Is she crying for us?] the Prudencians who still noticed her thought and Arabella only realized her tears then. She quickly dried her tears and maintained her smile.
She thought she would not cry anymore after already seeing this last time, but it still hurt to see everyone like this.
Arabella reigned in her emotions and did her best to calmly watch over everything.
There were so many Prudencians who had been hurt so badly by their masters. Thankfully, they had decided to do this before the attack began.
If they had done this while the attack was ongoing, Alwin would have already used up much of his mana from mass teleportation so they would have to delay the regrowth of those who had lost body parts.
And they discovered something sinister while healing the Prudencians.
They learned that there were nobles who collected body parts of Prudencians at a high price which was why a lot of them had lost parts of their body.
Arabella and Alwin noted to ensure that whoever this noble was, would be caught and punished severely for the cruel hobby he had.
In less than an hour, all the Prudencians in the locations provided by the anti-slavery faction were all brought to Valeria and their most pressing injuries were healed.
The magicians assigned in each location made it seem like they escaped with the help of someone so the nobles would think they were still in Crux and waste some of their men in searching for them.
This way, the number of those who would join the war would lessen even more.
The lesser they are, the lower their morale and confidence would be.
If they surrender, then even better so Valeria won’t have to put their knights at risk.
Since all the rescued Prudencians were moved to the next room, Arabella and Alwin went there as well. They went to the special care room.
Alwin healed those he could and let the doctors take care of those who were sick with illnesses that cannot be healed with magic.
Since there were no suspicious people among the prisoners, Arabella could move more freely.
Nadia was with her though just for sure since the men’s and ladies area were separated so everyone could change comfortably.
Arabella and Nadia helped in distributing towels and clothes to the ladies while Rendell helped in the men’s.
Once all the ladies in the special care room were bathed and clothed, Alwin came and healed their most severe injuries as well.
"My work here is done. We can move to the next room now," Alwin informed her when he was done healing everyone that needed more concentrated amounts of mana to be healed more effectively.
The doctors would take care of the rest now.
Nadia remained to continue helping there.
"Are you still alright?" Arabella inquired once they had gotten out of the room and were in the hallway.
She was concerned since he had been using his magic non-stop since the Prudencians began to be brought in.
"I’m perfectly fine. Who do you think I am?" Alwin said smugly.
"Right, of course. Of course, you’re fine," Arabella chuckled.
If he was this smug then he was still fine.
She could see though that his already pale complexion had gotten much paler. He had already used almost all his mana due to the number of people that needed to have missing body parts.
Those took so much more mana. Thus, Alwin was almost running on empty but he was too proud to admit it.
"You should drink a gentle recovery potion if you are not feeling too well," Arabella reminded.
After all, he was also like this in Safiro and almost passed out. Ferdinand even had to support him and Riley made him drink a recovery potion.
"It will recover gradually," Alwin said nonchalantly but did drink a gentle recovery potion just in case an emergency situation happened.
Gentle recovery potions just let recover a bit of the mana lost since recovering everything at once was also not good for the body. However, stronger ones would be necessary in case he needed to use high mana consuming spells.
Just as they reached the third room, everyone was positioned ready to bring food to the Prudencians who would be over bathing soon..
Arabella’s assistants sighed in relief when they saw her. She chuckled and said, "What were you all so nervous about?"
They blushed in embarrassment and said, "Nothing, Your Majesty."
"Alright, continue what you’re doing," Arabella said and went beside Blanca to serve meals as well.
She would be helping scoop food and place them on the plates. Staying in one place was best for her so that Alwin and Rendell would have no problems searching for her in case there was danger.
Alwin and Rendell stood on either side of her and also picked up ladles to help serve food.
Her assistants were shocked to see the three of them would truly be helping as well.
