CHAPTER 801: CHAPTER 801: SLEEPING POTION

They would all be unable to sleep. And they haven’t seen the worst yet.

It made Arabella conclude she would not let them see what it was like in the first step. They might get traumatized and not be able to sleep properly for months..

She cannot possibly ruin a good future ahead of them by showing them something they could not take.

Perhaps someday they could, but not right now.

"Alwin, can we give them some of the sleeping potion?" Arabella asked politely.

Alwin sighed deeply but brought out the sleeping potions and said, "Alright."

"Drink this and you’ll be able to sleep. Rest well. We will meet again tomorrow," Arabella said and let them have a potion each.

"Thank you very much, Your Majesty, Your Eminence," her assistants thanked and bowed to them before leaving.

"I hope they’ll be fine by tomorrow. Do you think it’s wrong to show them this?" Arabella sighed deeply and asked Alwin.

"Why would it be wrong? You are equipping them with something they would eventually experience in the future. It’s better for them to see this now than wait until they are unready to face a situation like this. They should be grateful they are getting coached in advance," Alwin replied.

’Ah, right. He’s a strict educator,’ Arabella recalled Fermind complaining about Alwin before.

Fermin admired Alwin a lot but he also complained about him a lot because he was so strict and had such high expectations of him.

Alwin was a genius who easily learned things so it could be difficult for him to perceive and understand why others would struggle in something he learned so easily.

"They are not the Young Master. You don’t have to coddle them too much. You should let them experience as much as possible now while everything is still peaceful so they won’t be among those who will be shocked and unable to act in the future," Alwin reminded.

Just by looking at her face, he figured that she remembered about Fermin.

But he had a point indeed. It was better to equip her assistants now than baby them like children instead of letting them grow their horizons when she knew they could grow more.

"Alright then. You should prepare those sleeping potions," Arabella made a decision.

After seeing how her assistants looked after helping the rescued Prudencians tonight, she thought of not letting them step into the first step.

But after Alwin’s words, she realized that she should not hold back.

If the future they knew happens, it would be much more cruel to not have prepared her assistants appropriately when she knew what the future would bring.

Thus, Arabella made up her mind.

If there are more Prudencians rescued during the war, she would let them see in person what they look like so they know what really transpired in Crux and just how badly their people were treated.

After all, for the noble families who have not seen the rescued Prudencians’ state they think the war was just a matter of pride.

But it was more.

It was also indeed taking vengeance for their people who had been treated so badly in Crux.

"Fine. You should go and rest too. The war will start soon so we will get back to work again. Here," Alwin handed her a potion.

He knew she would not be able to sleep either since the sight of the injured Prudencians reminded her of something else.

The war she had initiated in her past life.

After seeing the rescued Prudencians last time, Arabella kept having nightmares about the sight in the Magic Tower as she watched Riva in flames.

The scent of burning bodies and cries of the people in the city.

It all echoed in her dreams every time she tried to sleep.

Thus, she kept working more late into the night reasoning it was about work.

She was indeed able to do more work but even if she finished all of hers, she asked for more just to have a reason to stay awake.

Because her dreams of the past haunted her again.

Alwin noticed her waking up every night and not going back to sleep so he gave her sleeping potions every time she had a nightmare.

It went away after a few weeks, but now it might be back again after seeing the rescued Prudencians’ state once again.

Thus, Alwin gave her a potion in advance.

"Thank you," Arabella smiled genuinely.

It was indeed great to have Alwin as an ally.

"You should rest too. You will be using magic a lot once the war starts," Arabella reminded him as well since he was also a workaholic.

She hoped he didn’t get nightmares about Riva in flames either.

"Humph. I’m not a child either. You don’t have to worry about me. Why do you have to copy those elders from treating me like a child?" Alwin complained.

"Haha. It’s not that you are a child. No matter how old someone grows, if they are precious to you, they will keep worrying about you even if you have already grown so strong and powerful. That’s just how it is if you are precious to someone," Arabella assured him.

"Is that so?" Alwin blushed when he realized all the nagging was because he was treasured dearly by his elders.

"Yes," Arabella smiled and Alwin finally smiled back.

"Alright then. That’s good if that’s how it is," Alwin said and teleported her back to the front of her room.

Thanks to Alwin’s potion, Arabella fell asleep in an instant.

She dreamt about Riva in flames again but she drank the remaining half of the potion when she woke up and fell asleep again.

Thanks to that, she was able to wake up fully rested in a few hours and went to the Court Session as if she was not awake for most of the night.

Raymond was there too and also acted like usual.

They did not speak about the rescue of the Prudencians at all since most of the ministers and household heads did not know it already commenced.
