CHAPTER 804: CHAPTER 804: THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN CALL THEM UGLY

The researchers are finally getting some results and we are now sure that the disease was indeed spread by the pests.

They are conducting further research to know which among the pests here specifically carried the disease or if all of them did.

It was different to all plant diseases recorded in Valeria’s history so it was given a new name.

The researchers are also searching for ways to control and manage it properly so we might be able to announce this soon if we get more information about this.

I hope we also find the root cause so it could be eliminated completely and no longer bother us in the future.

Oh, and your assistant is doing well. He had spoken with the commoners here and it helped ease their worries.

I hope you are doing well too.

Did you rest properly?

Did you eat on time?

I already miss you dearly.

I will visit you as soon as I can.

Ferdinand

Arabella had a smile on her face after reading the letter.

Ferdinand was indeed worrying about her. No wonder Alwin was reminding her to eat and rest.

She was also relieved to hear that the researchers had begun to show progress.

The ministers and household heads were growing restless of not knowing what was going so they needed to be informed soon.

Thankfully, the researchers were getting results sooner than expected.

She immediately wrote a reply so whoever would go to report to Ferdinand today could deliver her letter.

Dear Ferdinand,

I am doing well and I missed you dearly too.

Rescuing the Prudencians had indeed gone well and they are in the Magic Tower recuperating.

The Court Sessions also went well as usual.

You need not worry about me since I ate well and would be resting soon after writing this letter.

I am happy to hear that the researchers are finally getting results.

I also wish for more of their research to bear fruit soon.

And thank you for informing me about my assistant. Please continue to watch over him for me.

Please take care of yourself as well and rest whenever you can.

Your Wife,

Arabella

Arabella cut her letter short since she began yawning.

She folded her letter neatly and gave it a kiss before placing it in a Jasmine scented envelope.

Her maids smiled at each other and blushed slightly when they saw the gesture.

They had already seen this scenario a lot but they still react like this.

"Alwin, please send this to Ferdinand," Arabella glanced at her balcony where Alwin was.

He teleported inside and received her letter.

"Alright.

You should go to sleep now.

You have huge eyebags and dark circles under your eyes.

If His Majesty suddenly decided to visit, he would be horrified to see you so ugly," Alwin said as the envelope vanished in his hands.

"How dare you call Her Majesty ugly! She’s always beautiful," Blanca countered.

"You have the same eyebags and dark circles. You should also go and rest since you have become ugly as well," Alwin said to Blanca.

The other maids’ jaws fell to the floor.

[He just called both Her Majesty and his own fiancee, ugly. Then, do we look like bugs to him right now?!] Carla and Irene were ashen.

"Your Eminence, it is improper to call a lady ugly just because of those," Aletha who was the eldest maid in the room spoke out.

"I just spoke the truth," Alwin said without remorse. Then re recalled Aletha was from Lobelius and added, "Ah, but I didn’t mean to insult Her Majesty. I was just pointing it out."

"Hahaha. Alwin, that was refreshing," Arabella chuckled instead.

When was the last time someone said she was ugly?

She could not even recall.

Even when she was in her forties, she was still pretty.

Of course, Alwin, who remained unchanged, was more beautiful though.

"Your Majesty, you should not just laugh about matters like this," Aletha sighed. "If others heard this, they would think you are allowing yourself to be belittled."

"It’s alright. His Eminence is always so divine even if he doesn’t sleep much so he had the right to say that. He hasn’t slept a wink but look at him," Arabella chuckled.

Her maids sighed when they glanced at Alwin and he was indeed as beautiful and divine as always.

There was no sign that he hadn’t gotten any sleep yet.

"Alright, I’m going to bed now so all of you should get some rest as well," Arabella said.

She should have bathed first but she felt too sleepy for that. She might drown in the tub if she fell asleep there so she just went directly to her bedroom and slept.

. . .

The days went by and the war with Crux was about to begin.

Arabella and her assistants were in the Magic Tower waiting in the first room for any Prudencians that would be rescued and brought there.

"Are you sure you are ready for this?" Arabella asked her assistants.

All of them had asked her that they wanted to see for themselves what things were like in the first step.

Arabella was already planning on showing it to them after what Alwin said to her so she was rather glad when they asked for it themselves.

She pretended like she still did not want them to see it to test their determination.

All of them still asked to be brought here even if just to get a glimpse so Arabella finally agreed on their nth plea.

Thus, all of them were here today.

"Yes, Your Majesty. We are ready," they replied in unison.

[It is something Her Majesty herself saw. We as her assistants should see it too, especially since we were all Valerian before she was.]

Norbert thought it was only right that they should see this since they were her assistants and they were all noble citizens of Valeria.

[Her Majesty was still able to worry about us instead of worrying for herself despite seeing it all. We must see this too.]

Oscar believed this was part of their duty as her assistant especially since she even tried to protect them from this.
