CHAPTER 814: CHAPTER 814: AN INFURIATINGLY CARELESS PERSON
She did not know either since they do not even really think about how old they truly were. She just knew they were at least 16 millennia old.
Arabella then contacted Alwin again.
{Alwin, you must come back here now if you were able to replenish enough mana to teleport back.
Let the other magicians take care of the issues there.
Return here as soon as you are able to teleport.
Whatever the situation, you must prioritize your life.}
There was no response.
However, since Alwin responded to him earlier, she was sure he could hear her.
{Remember when went missing, Ferdinand was melancholic and worried all the time. It’s also one of the reasons why he was so sad in the past life. And you’re my only ally who knows about the past. Our plans will not succeed if you’re not alive so come back now.}
There was no response again.
{I know you can hear me so don’t pretend you don’t. Return here as soon as possible. This is an order,} Arabella added.
{Ugh, fine. I’m planning to return soon anyway. Just wait for a few minutes.} Alwin replied in a sarcastic tone but lacked any bite.
{Alright.}
Arabella glanced at Raymond and Zion who were expectantly waiting for Alwin’s response.
"He said he would be here in a few minutes," Arabella informed them and they sighed in relief.
They waited patiently as the minutes slowly ticked by and felt like hours.
Finally, after ten minutes since his reply, Alwin teleported back.
"Oh my goodness! You’re injured!" Arabella gasped upon seeing Alwin’s bloodied cloak.
She tensed up when she saw blood drip to the floor and it was coming from Alwin’s hand.
An arrow made of what seemed like full metal was still implanted in his hand.
The thin light sword strung on his waist was still dripping with blood even when it was returned to its scabbard.
This worrisome sight did not fit Alwin at all.
"You’re hurt!" Even Blanca panicked and ran to Alwin’s side but was blocked by their elders from getting too close as they examined Alwin first.
"All your protective barriers were bypassed?! Or did you react too late? And why would you block an arrow with your palm?" Raymond said as he eyed Alwin’s bleeding hand.
"Still out of mana? I’ll heal you," Zion said and was about to reach out his hand to heal Alwin but the latter raised his other hand to stop his elder.
"I’m fine. I intentionally let it hit my hand so I’ll know its effects. It’s my first time encountering an arrow like this," Alwin said and made a glass appear out of thin air and he used it to catch the dripping blood from his palm.
"This person, really..."
"This crazy brat!"
Arabella and Raymond both held their head from the throbbing headache they got from Alwin’s words.
Here they were worried he would get injured so they asked him to return. And yet, Alwin intentionally got himself injured.
"Is this the time to experiment?!" Arabella sighed in exasperation.
"Yes, yes. I’ll take it away now," Alwin said and finally covered the bottle.
"Doesn’t it hurt?" Arabella inquired as she eyed the bleeding wound.
"It does," Alwin replied without any hint of pain on his face and made the bottle vanish. It was transported to his study.
Arabella thought he would finally remove the arrow and heal his hand but he just got another small glass container instead and continued letting his blood drip.
"How long has that arrow been in your palm?" Raymond inquired.
"Just a few minutes," Alwin replied nonchalantly and his two elders shook their heads in exasperation.
Arabella fully understood their frustration and anger especially since Alwin was treating it like it was nothing.
"Alvis must be furious right now," Raymond sighed.
"Why would he?" Alwin asked without a clue on his face and Arabella almost wanted to hit his head for not understanding why.
Of course, Alvis would be worried if he knew.
"Why else? His only nephew got injured. If he focuses, he will see your injury and feel it through the Holy Tree," Raymond pointed out.
"He had a lot of work to do. Why would he have the time to watch me?" Alwin passed it off.
"Wait... Don’t tell me, did you let your blood drip to the soil?" Zion inquired.
The expression on Zion’s face clearly showed he hoped that Alwin would say no.
However, Alwin’s reply was, "Yes, why?"
[This kid! Can I hit him on the head just once?! No. Twice,] Zion thought with clenched fists.
"Have you forgotten how precious your blood is? Even if you deny it, you are part of the elve’s royal bloodline. That will never change. Have you forgotten what happens when your blood hits the soil? And we’re in the human realm too," Zion scolded as he watched Alwin’s blood continue to drop into the container.
"I know. I used the plants that grew to stop the enemies. It was why I was able to escape," Alwin replied nonchalantly.
Zion massaged his temples as he said, "Alvis must be going mad right now."
Arabella learned from their conversation that plants grow on the soil where Alwin’s blood drips since it was also rich in mana.
The plant’s size would depend on the amount of blood. And since they were in the human realm which had low mana, Alwin’s blood which contained concentrated amounts of mana would create monstrously huge plants here.
And Alwin could also decide which plant would grow from his blood.
This time, Alwin decided for a giant tree and vines to stop the enemies temporarily since he was outnumbered.
As for Alvis who was the king of elves and likely monitored Alwin’s health ever since the time he went missing, he likely knew Alwin was injured and felt his blood drip to the ground through the power of the Holy Tree.
Thus, Alvis was likely losing his mind pondering on what could be going on for Alwin to be injured when he was such a powerful magician that had such strong barriers for defense.
