Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress
Chapter 822: Let Him Experience for Himself
CHAPTER 822: CHAPTER 822: LET HIM EXPERIENCE FOR HIMSELF
They get to let Alvis blow some steam while likewise solving their problem.
Of course, that was Raymond’s sly but effective plan.
"Please go and check on Riley first. He must be out of mana as well if there are also necromancers in Marquess’ estate and made a lot of undead."
Alwin was more worried about Riley since he knew his uncle could take care of himself.
"I will. But don’t worry too much. Unlike you, Riley always carries a lot of recovery potions with him," Zion assured Alwin before he bowed to Arabella and teleported to Crux.
Arabella recalled that last time in Safiro, Riley was indeed the one who gave a recovery potion to Alwin.
Riley had made a lot in stock both for himself and Alwin since he knew Alwin would not bother making or bringing one with him when he never needed it before.
Alwin only recently learned his lesson after the experience in Safiro.
But still, he only made ten since he thought it was more than enough.
However, today, he used it all up because the situation in Alba Estate turned out different from their plans. He had to use a lot of mana to use the spell to freeze Emily in time.
The sudden appearance of the undead which Alwin did not know how to deal with also caused him to use more mana than supposed to be.
After all, the people panicked and were unable to move in shock when they saw even their comrades had turned to undead and attacked them.
"Is there no other way to defeat them aside from King Alvis’ power and Estrellian weapons?" Arabella inquired.
"We can burn them. But since our ally’s comrades were also among them, and if we had also lost some knights and soldiers to them, it meant they would be unable to mourn and bury their dead," Raymond explained.
"I tried burning some but it did not work," Alwin pointed out.
"Ah, they must have already made them resistant to fire through some additional spell," Raymond said as he thought about it.
He explained that a long time ago, burning all the undead also worked but that meant their families would not be able to mourn them. And the fire could spread widely and kill their allies as well.
But now, since Alwin had already tried burning the bodies but they were resistant to fire, that method won’t work anymore.
The magicians had already applied protection magic so the undead’s bodies would not be eliminated through fire and likely from other elements as well.
"Then, how else could they be eliminated?" Arabella asked.
She needed to know as much as possible about this since this did not happen in her previous life.
If there were more necromancers out there secretly preparing to attack, they needed to be prepared as much as possible without heavily relying on Alvis’s power or Estrellian weapons which might not even be allowed to be brought out in Estrella in great numbers.
"We could go for the necromancers themselves. But their undead soldiers would get in our way so it’s best to deal with the undead first. If Alwin, Zion, and Riley do not need to worry about other things and could simply focus on the necromancers, they could attack them like normal magicians," Raymond explained.
"But they have people watching us, ready to attack with those poisoned anti-magic arrows," Alwin grimaced as he glanced at his hand.
The wound had fully closed and he was fine now thanks to the antidote from Zion and the mana from Raymond.
If Alwin did not receive help from the two, he would still be suffering from the poison now.
It was why he was worried about Riley and the others in the Marquess Estate. If there were also necromancers there and skilled archers ready to attack them while they were busy dealing with the undead, a lot of them might be wounded and poisoned by now but were out of mana to return.
"Maybe, I should head to the Marquess Estate after all," Alwin thought out loud.
"Zion already headed there. He would take care of the rest. You already did your part as was planned," Raymond stopped Alwin from being reckless again.
"He’s right. You already did more than enough. Leave the rest to your elders. Instead, let’s focus on what we can do here," Arabella added.
Just as she said that, magicians from the search party arrived simultaneously with rescued Prudencians with them.
All the rescued Prudencians were injured badly.
The three magicians left here immediately healed them but it was not enough for the deeper and older injuries.
"Alright," Alwin finally let up and went out of the barrier and healed the injuries his comrades could not.
’That was not what I meant though,’ Arabella was troubled since Alwin probably needed to rest and recover first.
As long as the most pressing injuries were healed so the rescued Prudencians would not die, they could postpone further healing magic for later and let the doctors take care of the remaining injuries in the meantime.
But Alwin already went out there and healed them, using large amounts of mana again.
"Will he be alright? Doesn’t he need more time to recover?" Arabella asked Raymond.
Blanca and Ronald had the same question written all over their faces. They knew Alwin was very much capable but after seeing his state earlier, they were also worried.
"He does need to rest. But let him be until he collapses so he’ll know his limits. He would think we are just being paranoid if we keep stopping him from doing as he pleases," Raymond sighed deeply with a fatherly look on his face.
"Ah, I see," Arabella nodded in understanding.
There were also times when Fermin could be this stubborn no matter what she said until he had to experience things for himself and finally understand why Arabella was telling him not to overdo things.
Alwin might indeed need to learn that lesson by experience since he still wants to keep pushing himself even after what happened today.
