CHAPTER 828: CHAPTER 828: ON PAR WITH A DRAGON

This was the first time he drank this much and in a single day too in quick succession.

Thus, even the mighty Alwin caught a fever for the first time in a while.

Arabella had to wonder though if Alwin had ever gotten sick before.

"He will get better as his mana recovers," Rendell explained.

"I see. That’s good then. But he should be moved to his own room soon."

Arabella worried that Alwin might not be able to rest properly here with everything that’s going on.

With his sharp ears, he might be able to hear them even in his sleep.

However, if they sent him to his room, they would not be able to monitor his condition even more since everyone is busy.

And Alwin would get angry at her for not listening to him, not to get out of his barrier or be away from him or Zion.

"If he wakes up for a bit, he might teleport here to search for Your Majesty. That’s just the way he is since he was still assigned to guard you as well. It’s better for him to stay here until the others return," Rendell figured out what she was thinking and voiced his thoughts.

Arabella thought about it and Rendell was right. WIth how obsessed Alwin was to do his part and more, he would indeed come to find her just to ensure she was fine and he was not found not doing his role.

"I see. Alright then," Arabella relented.

Alwin would only push himself more if he still teleports in this condition.

She was just about to call for one of her maids to take care of Alwin but right on time, all Prudencians in the room were moved to the next room so Blanca was free and returned into the barrier.

"He seems to have caught a fever. Can you please take care of him," Arabella asked.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Blanca retrieved water and towels for Alwin.

[He’s so full of himself to overdo it!

How can he keep using so much mana after getting wounded by that weapon?!

He used two of his mana cores too.

Even if he had more, using one’s mana core is still dangerous.

Yet he still pushed himself this far!

So arrogant!

What does he think he is?]

Blanca had a lot of complaints in her mind but it was all out of worry.

And Blanca was crying again at seeing Alwin in this vulnerable state. Especially since Blanca could not sneak past him at all before.

Now, she was taking care of him but he could not even sense her and was totally unconscious.

Arabella let Blanca take care of ALwin and focused on her tasks. She monitored the situation in the four steps and thankfully, everything was going as planned on their part.

Since Alwin was one to recover quickly, they thought he would wake up in a few hours.

However, he had pushed himself way too hard that he slept much longer than expected.

The war with Crux continued and with a furious Alvis on their side, the war was over in a day.

Deep into the night, Alvis and Zion arrived in the Magic Tower.

"Alwin! How could you be in this state?!" Alvis was hysterical when he saw Alwin unconscious and having a terrible fever.

Blanca and the others had already tried healing Alwin but it didn’t work so they were elated at Alvis and Zion’s arrival.

Alvis was all over Alwin checking his condition, however, when Alvis was about to heal Alwin, Raymond held his hand to stop him.

"Just heal his fever but don’t do anything else with the effects of his overdose," Raymond said.

Everyone in the barrier turned silent and glanced at each other.

"What are you talking about? Alwin is suffering right now," Alvis glared at Raymond and tried to free his hand but Raymond did not let up.

"Alwin will push himself this far again if he easily recovers from this.

He needs to learn his lesson.

If you don’t want him bleeding and injured and yet still pushing himself, you need to harden your heart just this once," Raymond said not only to Alvis but to everyone else here as well who were wavering because of seeing Alwin in this state.

He had such a high fever that Blanca, then Carla and Irene taking care of him together was still not enough.

His fever had not gone down at all and even Arabella was wavering.

However, thankfully, Raymond did say Alvis could heal the fever but not the other side effects of the overdose and Alwin pushing himself too far today.

"I have already shared my mana to him twice just today but he used it all up immediately and drank even more recovery potion even after we scolded him. He needs to learn when to stop. What will happen to him if we are not around?" Raymond pointed out.

He had experienced this with his children so he was speaking from experience.

Alvis who had children of his own surely knew this as well but he still very much conflicted out of worry.

"Alwin is stronger than he looks.

He’s on par with a dragon now.

This much will not have adverse effects on his mana and ability to use magic in the future.

Let him be for now."

Zion agreed with Raymond and also convinced Alvis.

After all, Zion also saw how Alwin kept pushing himself even when he was already bleeding.

"Just let me do this much for him. I can give him a good scolding later," Alvis still felt bad for not healing Alwin completely when he was clearly in pain.

"Scolding is not enough for him now.

Our words did nothing.

If it’s His Majesty, he might listen.

But even His Majesty will likely not scold him since he knew why Alwin acted this way.

I also understand but Alwin must learn not to put himself in too much danger.

What will you do if Alwin does this again?" Raymond pointed out.

Alvis was silenced at that as he contemplated.
