Chapter 1392: Chapter 1392: Well-developed Limbs, Simple Mind
Lu Yichen spoke lightly: “It’s not a big deal, really unnecessary. Quickly take the old man home. After all, he’s getting on in years and got caught in the rain—going back to soak in a hot bath is what really matters.”
The old man held the braised chicken wings Luo Qiao had given him and said to his son: “Chicken wings, delicious. My son’s favorite.”
Luo Qiao had originally thought the old man wanted to eat them himself. Unexpectedly, even when he was unwell, he still thought about his son liking braised chicken wings. She was deeply moved.
Standing beside the old man, the deputy factory manager’s eyes instantly turned red: “Dad, I already ate earlier. These are for you. Let’s go home first, all right?”
The old man grinned like a little kid: “Okay, let’s go home. I can’t find my way home, but we’ll go home and eat chicken wings.”
Watching the group leave, Luo Qiao looked at the burly Zhou Dahai and shook her head: “Turns out he really is all brawn and no brains.”
Maybe it was because of the rain today, but there weren’t many customers, and turnover wasn’t high. Sister-in-law Hu wasn’t too busy later and even had time to sit and chat with them for a while.
The kids were eating happily. Though most of the dishes were spicy—Luo Qiao was a big fan of spicy food at home—so they were somewhat used to it. Still, a few non-spicy dishes were specially ordered for them, and every single one of them left with full bellies.
When it came time to pay the bill, Hu Mingfang said the meal was on her to thank them for taking care of her over these few years. But Luo Qiao insisted that it wouldn’t be proper to waive the bill on the opening day of a new restaurant. She suggested giving a discount next time instead.
When they left, it was still raining, though not as heavily as before.
The people taking shelter under the eaves outside had mostly dispersed as well.
Stone and Taifeng took a cab directly back to the Gu family’s place. Luo Qiao said that she’d let Lu Yichen handle the tickets the next day and that they could just pick them up before departing without needing to make a special trip.
Sitting in the car, Luo Qiao glanced out at the rain still falling: “That Zhou Dahai really got himself ruined by his sister.”
She chuckled as she spoke.
Lu Yichen replied: “He probably bullied others plenty before. Serves him right.”
The little ones were very lively in the car. Yanyan and Yueyue even started talking about the music classes they had enrolled in.
Lu Yichen asked: “Do you have to go every day?”
Yanyan beamed: “No, just every other day. Three sessions each morning.”
Lu Yichen continued: “Besides the music classes, are there any other courses during the summer break?”
Yueyue turned to look at her dad driving in the front: “There’s also martial arts and dance. The other courses don’t require us to attend; we can just practice at home.”
Lu Yichen gave a proud smile: “That’s my daughter, making her father proud.”
Aside from taking swimming lessons during last summer break, the three little ones hadn’t been signed up for any other classes. Luo Qiao asked: “You three, any thoughts? Want to sign up for an interest class?”
Lu Yichen chimed in: “They’re still young. Maybe start with calligraphy or art classes.”
Xiao Rui answered on behalf of his two younger brothers: “Mom, can we join an Astronomy Club?”
Luo Qiao hadn’t expected such a small child to want to join an Astronomy Club: “Of course you can. But I heard they only accept children over five. Still, we can go check it out.”
Xiao Rui was slightly disappointed but still replied: “Alright.”
Luo Qiao smiled as she patted her son’s head: “But we can buy some books on the topic. Mommy can also get you a pair of binoculars. When you’ve built a good foundation, shown you can stick with it, and truly love astronomy, I’ll get you a telescope.”
Now the three little ones were all excited, chiming in together: “Okay, thank you, Mommy!”

A few days later, Stone accompanied Taifeng back to Dabai Village.
On this day, Luo Qiao and Lu Yichen both took time off work to visit Qi Ling’s home and attend Qi Ling’s wedding.
The Qi family hadn’t expected Lu Yichen and Luo Qiao to show up. When someone came running in and said some guests had arrived in a car, the Qi family was puzzled.
When they stepped outside, they only realized who had come after Qi Ling introduced them. The onlookers heard Qi Ling’s introduction: the man worked at the Capital City Public Security Bureau, and the woman was a professor at Beijing Medical University. The villagers immediately exploded with excitement.
The Qi family had hit it big. Qi Ling had made acquaintance with such outstanding people, and from now on, no one would dare to look down on or bully the Qi family. Even the former Yue family would probably regret it to death.
