Reborn as a Tough Army Wife
Chapter 574 - 569: Still Fuming (Third Update)
CHAPTER 574: CHAPTER 569: STILL FUMING (THIRD UPDATE)
Fang Xiu spoke out, then rushed toward the door wielding a kitchen knife.
Right there at the doorway, she encountered Zhou Guangsheng and Granny Zhou. Upon seeing Fang Xiu, fuming with rage and brandishing the knife, they were startled.
Zhou Guangsheng immediately stepped forward and wrestled the knife from Fang Xiu’s grasp.
Granny Zhou, too, took hold of Fang Xiu, asking anxiously, "Xiu’er, what on earth are you doing? Why resort to using a knife?"
Zhou Guangsheng tossed the knife aside and also embraced Fang Xiu, trying to calm her down. "That’s right, Xiu’er, you can’t be so impulsive. Do you understand what consequences your actions could have? You could be sent to the Police Station at any minute."
Fang Xiu herself knew she was being impulsive, but she just couldn’t swallow the indignation in her heart.
In the past, while pregnant with Haohao, the Luo Family claimed the child belonged to someone else and didn’t regard her as a person, making her do all the heavy housework alone, and they would eat only when she wasn’t home, leaving her cold leftovers.
Later, when she was giving birth to Haohao, because of the need to pay medical bills, Zhou Yun Mei made it clear to stay away from her affairs. It was only with Fang Pingying’s help that she managed to give birth.
She truly had accepted all the past events, thinking that it was her own fault for blindly marrying Luo Zhiming, and that she deserved everything she got.
But now, she had completely severed ties with the Luo Family, so why did Zhou Yun Mei still have to harm her son?
She could endure anything now, but she couldn’t tolerate someone hurting her son.
If Zhou Yun Mei were in front of her, she would definitely lash out and kill her, without any care.
But as Zhou Yun Mei wasn’t there, and Zhou Guangsheng wouldn’t let her go find Zhou Yun Mei, the frustration was too much for her, so much so that she started banging her head against the wall.
Seeing this, Granny Zhou and Zhou Guangsheng quickly held her back. Granny Zhou hurriedly pressed further, "What exactly happened? The mother-in-law called earlier, said something happened at home, but didn’t give any details."
Upon hearing this, Fang Xiu took several deep breaths and then told Zhou Guangsheng and his mother, "It’s Zhou Yun Mei, she has broken all the bones in my Haohao’s hand."
"Haohao’s hand is broken?" On hearing this, Zhou Guangsheng immediately pulled Fang Xiu inside to check on Haohao’s hand.
Fortunately, Haohao’s hand, although seriously injured, was not as bad as Fang Xiu had described.
Zhou Guangsheng, after all, was a bit more rational. He quickly picked up Haohao and instructed, "Xiu’er, don’t cry, grab some money. We need to take Haohao to the hospital, got to take care of his hand first."
Upon hearing this, Fang Xiu felt as though she had regained her composure. She hurriedly slung her bag on her back, let Zhou Guangsheng carry Haohao, and called out, "Right, right, to the hospital, I’m nearly out of my mind with worry."
Originally Zhou Guangsheng wanted Li Yuchun and Granny Zhou not to go over, but both elderly people loved Haohao dearly and were not at ease, so they went to the hospital as well.
At the hospital, after examining Haohao, the doctor found that indeed the bones in his little finger joint were broken. But with the technology available at the time, it wasn’t possible to fix it immediately, so they had to just bandage it up and let it heal slowly on its own.
If it healed properly, it shouldn’t cause any major issue, but there might be a bump at the joint in the future. Although not a serious problem, the little guy would certainly be in a lot of pain for the next few days.
And the two fingers at the top were all pinched and broken, with some swelling in the bones, requiring daily medication and causing excruciating pain.
Fang Xiu and the others were relieved to hear it wasn’t too serious, but seeing Haohao crying loudly because the doctor touched his fingers during the examination, the women of the Fang Family, including Fang Xiu, felt so heartbroken that their tears kept falling.
It was not just Fang Xiu and Li Yuchun, but Granny Zhou as well.
Lately, without much to do, Granny Zhou would often visit Fang Xiu’s shop. When Li Yuchun was free, she would take Haohao to help there. When she was busy, Granny Zhou would take care of Haohao while Li Yuchun did some work.
Elderly people generally love children. Furthermore, Haohao, this little guy, was chubby and sweet-spoken, as well as bright, always calling Granny Zhou "grandma" this and "grandma" that, which charmed Granny Zhou into laughter all day long.
Moreover, through her interactions with the Fang Family these days, Granny Zhou knew that the people of the Fang Family were good.
Especially Fang Xiu, who not only valued Zhou Guangsheng but was also extremely filial to her.
She had a daughter-in-law for several years and now she finally enjoyed the benefits of having one, and this daughter-in-law was someone her son truly liked. Even if she was not entirely satisfied before because Fang Xiu had a son, she had now completely accepted her.
Having accepted Fang Xiu, she naturally treated Haohao as her own grandson. Seeing Haohao crying so sadly, she couldn’t help but shed tears too.
Initially, when the doctor was applying medicine, little Xiao Pang cried fiercely, but after seeing his mother and the others crying, he looked at the three of them, then suddenly forced himself to hold back his tears, pouted his mouth, and comforted Fang Xiu and the others instead, "Haohao doesn’t hurt, Mommy, don’t cry."
The little one’s words only made the already heartbroken women even more distressed, hugging the little guy and crying harder than Haohao.
Eventually, Zhou Guangsheng saw that this couldn’t continue as it was hindering the doctor from treating Haohao, so he simply took over Haohao and asked Fang Xiu and the others to go out first to let the doctor apply the medicine.
After more than an hour of ordeal at the hospital, when they left the hospital, Fang Xiu thought again of how Haohao ended up like this because of Zhou Yunmei, and she couldn’t suppress her anger. She asked Li Yuchun with a grave expression, "Where did Zhou Yunmei go?"
Li Yuchun thought about Zhou Yunmei’s words and hesitated before answering, "I’m not sure. She said she was coming over today to take Ruirui and Yaoyao’s photos back to show Luo Dashan. I don’t know if she’s going back today."
Fang Xiu nodded and asked again, "How long has it been since she left?"
"Almost two hours."
"They can’t catch the 10 o’clock train, so they must still be at the train station." Fang Xiu glanced at her watch, suddenly grabbed Zhou Guangsheng, and said, "Guangsheng, let’s go to the train station."
"Wait a moment." Zhou Guangsheng naturally knew what Fang Xiu was up to by rushing to the train station and held her hand, asking softly, "Have you thought it through? What exactly are you planning to say to her at the train station? Are you really going to take a kitchen knife and kill her? You can’t be so impulsive. If you attack her, you’ll have to face legal consequences."
Fang Xiu hadn’t yet thought of exactly how to deal with Zhou Yunmei, but she definitely couldn’t let Zhou Yunmei get away with doing something wrong.
She frowned at Zhou Guangsheng and said, "Then what do you suggest we do? She hurt my Haohao like this and just wants to walk away scot-free?"
After thinking for a while, Zhou Guangsheng suggested, "Why don’t you call our eldest sister and talk to Zhiyong about this? See what Zhiyong and our eldest sister have to say."
He paused and analyzed with Fang Xiu, "After all, Zhou Yunmei is Zhiyong’s biological mother. Even if we don’t consider the fact that Zhiyong and our eldest sister were once husband and wife, we still need to inform him out of the acquaintance we have with Zhiyong."
