Ever since Shi Mei awoke, the police had been coming to the hospital very frequently.

"No," Shi Mei rolled her eyes at her.

"Psht," Ye Tiao had anticipated this reaction, "I knew it, you’re still the same old you. But I think Tang really seems upset. Maybe stop teasing him."

"If I revert back to my old self now, wouldn’t that be too suspicious?" Shi Mei said while eating the apple Tang Jingming had just peeled, "How will he accept a different me in the future if I don’t train him now? I’m planning to subtly make him face reality."

Ye Tiao glanced at her, then quietly took a look around, and whispered, "Did you really kill those two people?"

"Yes," Shi Mei was terse and kept her voice low, "In that situation, it was either them or me."

Ye Tiao began to see Shi Mei in a different light, felt the hair on her neck stand up, and twisted her neck unconsciously. "How come I never knew you even had the guts to kill..."

"Potential is forced out by circumstances." Shi Mei finished the last bite of her apple, her eyes growing somewhat dimmer, "How did your parents agree to let you out?"

Shi Mei glanced over, "Since when were you two so close?"

"What could I say? I left without saying anything and didn’t even glance at her."

Shi Mei scoffed lightly, her gaze suddenly catching two figures out of the corner of her eye. The playful expression on her face swiftly faded, and she returned to her gloomy demeanor.
