CHAPTER 56: THE GAME OF IMAGINATION III

Once they had both announced their pacts, neither one having any kind of defiance or argument, the two iron rods reacted, merging into a single item and then taking the form of a round glowing star, hovering higher into the dark clouds.

The stage was set for their battle.

"Now, show me what you can do, Aurelian!"

Ishtar raised her hand, her eyes glowing with excitement as she urged herself to say her next words.

"The spear of divinity!"

So she yelled, announcing her first attack.

Right above her platform, a long green spear appeared, pulsing with raw, unfiltered energy. It had a long red flag strapped to the side, dancing as though it had a life of its own.

[Target is the spear of divinity, used by the 12th hero summoned by the world. It is said to never miss its target, no matter the distance or amount of force.]

’An unstoppable force. I figured an overpowered attack like that would be her first move. This is probably what she used to defeat all her opponents in the past,’ Dorian whispered to himself, slowly calculating the best move to counter with.

It was his turn to make a move, as spoken by the rules of the game. He was either going to go defensive or offensive.

’Here goes nothing, I guess.’

Dorian stretched his hand forward, ready to announce his next move.

"Nano shield," he said with confidence.

Right in front of him, a multilayered wall of black nanoparticles formed. It took a square shape, shifting from solid to fluid continuously.

However, as soon as his imagination fully materialized, Dorian found himself gripping the rings, keeping him from falling from the platform. His head felt light, and he could feel a bulging pain swell up in his stomach, tempting him to puke.

Dorian quickly covered his mouth, pushing the urge right down his throat.

’Shit, was I too careless?’ He raised his head a bit, observing the confused look on Ishtar’s face. ’So that’s how it works.’

He slowly gripped himself, standing upright and proud. Though in that moment, even a slight push from an ant could send him to his knees.

’The more complex the imagination, the more mana is being absorbed. I intended to end it at once with this, but I guess I can take it slow.’

If anything, his knowledge from his former world was sure to give him an open advantage. At least if everything went according to plan.

Dorian cleaned the blood almost slipping from his nostrils with the back of his arm. ’There is no way she is beating me with just imagination alone.’

While Dorian was staring her dead in the eye, Ishtar was at the other side, trying to make sense of what he had called forth.

"What is that? It looks soft and hard at the same time. Is this an artifact I have never heard about? No, that can’t be right; I have read all the books, there is no way I could have missed this."

She frowned.

"No matter, this spear won’t stop until it hits its target. It’s a hero’s weapon, after all; nothing can stop it once it’s built up momentum!"

With a grin, she snapped her fingers.

Pheww!

Just like that, she sent the green spear forward, speeding toward Dorian with so much force that it rippled through the air with flashes of mana.

However, just as it came in contact with the nano wall hovering in front of Dorian, it stopped.

Rather than piercing or shattering the shield like Ishtar had thought, the entire spear got covered in nanoparticles, keeping it halted in the air, like a spoon trying to go through a cloth.

This not only left Ishtar speechless but also damn near terrified.

"Impossible..." She took a couple of steps back, her eyes shaking. "The spear can’t be stopped once it’s thrown. How are you able to hold it in place?!"

Dorian, weak and resting on the frame, sent the terrified lady a teasing grin.

"I believe it is my turn to attack, no?"

Hearing this, Ishtar looked to the ground, her upper face darkened with seriousness.

She didn’t utter a word for a while.

Taking it as a go-ahead, Dorian stretched his arm forward, ready to summon his next attack.

That was when he saw the look on her face.

It was a depraved look. A senseless look.

Ishtar had her hands cupped around her cheeks, her face red and breath heavy while gawking at Dorian from afar.

This caught him off guard. How did her facial expression suddenly change so quickly?

Before he could continue his thoughts, he watched her lean against the frame wall, one hand keeping her grounded while the other found its way to her mouth, mainly her thumb.

"AHHH~ I knew it; you really are special, aren’t you?"

Dorian was flabbergasted at the sight before him.

He watched as Ishtar bit her thumb, a slow, deliberate movement that seemed to stretch the moment, her eyes, usually so sharp, now hazy and half-lidded, almost rolling back into her head as a faint, tantalizing hum escaped her lips.

A blush bloomed across her cheeks, a stark contrast to her usual composure.

Her breaths were heated and heavy, her thighs rubbing against one another, a subtle rhythm building. A wild, almost predatory grin stretched across her face, her eyes glittering with an insatiable hunger.

"Never in my life have I faced an opponent using a weapon I myself don’t know about, in my own domain. I invented this game, and yet—"

"Interesting~ this is interesting." She leaned forward even more, a shiver running through her.

Ahhh~

She moved her hand from her mouth and cupped a feel of her breast, swaying it back and forth while moving like a snake on the platform, the pleasure getting to her. Her laughter, low and throaty, filled the air, a melody of pure, unadulterated ecstasy.

"Amazing, I love this; I love this feeling~, knowing there is a chance I might lose, ahh~." She moaned, her sweat dripping from her jaw into her cleavage. "Just makes me want to keep playing even more. All my other contenders never got past the first round. Say, Aurelian." She raised her head to look at him, her eyes gleaming with a manic delight. "You’ll keep entertaining me, won’t you? I want us to keep playing even more~ "

As Dorian observed this erotic and quite shocking scene, only one thing crossed his mind.

’What the hell—? This girl is a damn freak.’ His face too exhausted to form an expression, ’Game addict, now it’s making sense.’
