Reborn as the Failed Lord with my Resource Gathering System.
Chapter 57: A concluded battle.
CHAPTER 57: A CONCLUDED BATTLE.
It didn’t take long for Dorian to collect himself. His arm was still stretched out, ready and waiting for him to cast the next attack.
Of course, for him to fully concentrate, he needed to ignore the lustful movement of the woman before him.
’Just one more attack, and I can end this,’ he spoke with conviction, feeling more and more mana being drained from his body like a vacuum.
The fact he was still standing was a miracle in and of itself.
Eyes locked on his target, Dorian uttered—
"Missile launcher."
Right in front of him, the missile formed. It was rectangular and small, forged with multiple slots having missiles loaded into them.
All Dorian needed to do was just think of the missiles going forward, and they would.
He could have easily constructed something way bigger, but due to his mana loss and obvious mental strain, this was the best he could do.
After seeing another strange item appear as Dorian’s attack, Ishtar was now more than convinced that Dorian was indeed a special person.
"A second artifact I don’t know about," Ishtar uttered more to herself than anything.
She gripped her arm, shaking like an addict trying to beat their withdrawal. She was trying her best not to get aroused by the situation, however hopeless it was.
Her cheeks were still red, and her breath heavy. Still, she didn’t let that stop her from making her next attack.
"Wall of Ashra."
Not long after she uttered these words, a beautiful massive blue flower appeared in front of her.
Its vibrant light lit up the entire place as the flower grew bigger and bigger until it had completely shielded Ishtar, leaving just enough space for her to still see her enemy.
The cheeky expression on Ishtar’s face was proof that she was very confident that the flower could hold whatever attack was thrown her way.
Being a special-grade weapon used by one of the greatest mages in the entire kingdom, it was only normal that her confidence would skyrocket.
However...
"Go." Dorian pointed at the flower, or at least he tried to. He barely raised his hand past his chest.
That said, the single gesture sent multiple missiles speeding toward Ishtar.
Boom! Boom!
As the first few collided with the flower, it sent entire shockwaves that spread all around the domain as flames slowly began to engulf the entire flower.
More and more missiles continued raining down on the flower.
Boom! Boom!
With multiple firepowers slamming against its magic shell, it didn’t take long for the entire thing to shatter, burning the flower faster than Ishtar could take notice.
When she eventually noticed her shield was giving up slowly, she could only stand there in shock, her cheeks still red.
"Once again he is using his strange artifact to completely overpower a high-grade artifact that has been used by some of the best of our time."
Hmph~
She closed her eyes, barely able to contain the hunger she had begun to feel from the inside. The thrill of being backed into a corner was slowly getting to her.
And the fact Dorian was staring down at her, not uttering a word, made it even more of a turn-on.
Boom!
Ishtar noticed the last explosion was louder than normal.
As she raised her head to check, she found that two main things that left her completely speechless.
First, the wall of Ashra, known to be built to regenerate as long as it had mana, was now withering away in front of her. The petals dried up and burnt to ashes.
Secondly, which was most likely what sparked her hopelessness, from both sides of the platform, she could see two sleek missiles charging towards her.
These things were cylinder-shaped and looked small enough to fit into a basement window. So how? How were they able to deal so much damage?
"Am I... going to lose here?" Her voice cracked, filled with fear in contrast to the pleasurable look on her face.
Just like that,
Boom!
Both missiles collided right on Ishtar’s position.
There was little time for her to react. In the blink of an eye, the missiles violently crashed into her, causing the entire place to explode, including the platform she was standing on.
Dorian watched from a distance, the flames burning up the air as though it were mixed with gasoline.
At first he worried if that would kill her, but then he noticed something.
’My mana is back?’ he uttered to himself, looking at his hand, surprise etched on his features.
Though it was little, he was certain his mana was restored.
Was this how it worked? Giving your target damage means you get to recover a bit of the mana lost?
’I have to hand it to her. This domain is quite impressive. I’m tempted to actually know how she built it. Eh, hold on—’
He quickly turned his gaze towards Ishtar’s platform, where he could see her floating in the air, her clothes torn, revealing most of her skin.
Though he was far away, he could still see a bit of her upper thighs all the way from where he was.
And most importantly, the degenerate expression on Ishtar’s face.
"Insane. This is insane. Ahh~ I don’t think I can take another attack like that," she uttered, her thighs rubbing together. "If this world has pain and damage sensors, I may have died from that."
Dorian glared. ’Like I thought. She can add concepts to this domain. Can she do it freely? Any time she wants?’
Slowly, he watched as Ishtar barely lifted her hand to send another attack. She wasn’t done yet; it seemed like she still had a bit of fight in her.
The same couldn’t be said for Dorian; one more attack and he was sure to collapse.
As such, he knew he needed to risk it. Create something that she could never recover from.
"Holy blade Excalibur."
Announced Ishtar, a golden blade constructed before her, its sharp steel blade aimed at Dorian.
Meanwhile...
"Hydrogen bomb."
As Dorian made his own announcement, a huge cylindrical object formed, a bit similar to the smaller missiles Dorian had sent beforehand.
At least from Ishtar’s vision, it was. She was so stunned that for a good minute she forgot about her own attack and focused all her attention on the hydrogen bomb hovering higher into the dark clouds.
"Another one..." her eyes shifted to Dorian; she could see how he was barely able to stand on his two feet.
Eyes shut, she let out a small smile.
"To think I would lose this easily." She opened her eyes back. "Truly, I have been entertained. Very much so."
With those final words, Ishtar sent the holy sword speeding towards Dorian.
’One more...just one more...’ Dorian had already begun to see a blur, barely able to make out his surroundings.
Slowly, he clenched his fist, fully materializing his imagination for his attack.
That was when it happened.
As the hydrogen bomb slowly fell to the ground, so did Dorian, unable to stand on his two feet as his consciousness slipped out of his grasp.
Boom!
A massive explosion the moment it touched the dark fog at the bottom.
Everyone was immediately enveloped in flames.
And with that, the domain that had housed both contestants shattered like glass.
Dorian was out.
...
[A/N]
And with that, that concludes the game of imagination battle. I have to apologize for going with this route. I promise to make it up to you guys.
Whether or not to add her to the harem is still up for debate. But as always, thanks for reading.
