"You have lost your mind. Do you think you can just leave the temple when you want to? This place is like a prison. It won't let anyone go, especially a talented person like you.

Our gods blessed both you and me, and we have special powers. The temple would want to use us fully before letting us go."

Adam was ranting and badmouthing the temple right in the middle of it, halfway, where anyone could walk around and hear what he was saying.

But Adam had no fear, and he was exposing the temple. Nothing he said was a secret; everyone knew that the temple was where people were exploited.

Yet, the firm hope that things would be better and that the gods would listen to them kept people going. Rosette had been no different, just drifting daily to get by until she had found Layla.

After meeting Layla, Adam noticed his friend suddenly looked full of life and vigor, which also worried him.

Rosette had put up too much of her faith in a single child, and now she was willing to abandon everything she ever knew for a relationship that could be a one-sided friendship.

"I know what you are worried about, Adam. But this is not your decision to make; this is mine. And I want to head out with Lady Layla as soon as possible. She has helped me a lot to get here, and now I want to return the favor."

Rosette was resolute, and she stood firm. She was ready to give up on everything she knew, and Adam could only sign in regret.

'I know I am going to regret this decision in the future. But I also cannot let Rosette step out into this world alone. It won't be right to do that to her.'

Adam sighed before he stepped up behind Rosette.

"So, when are we leaving and how are we leaving? Both Rose and I have seals engraved on our bodies, and the temple seal will prevent us from being able to head out of the barrier. Do you know any magic that might be able to help us out?"

Adam asked in a low voice, but he looked determined to have a clear goal.

"You don't need to worry about it. I have a way we can get out of here. Or rather, one of our companions can make it happen if they feel like cooperating with us."

Mary looked at Layla's unconscious form, or rather, on top of her unconscious form when she spoke.

That weird energy shifted around before settling down once more.

Adam and Rosette felt magic running through their veins and undoing the binding seal that had been placed on top of their bodies.

"Now, let's leave. The longer we stay here, the worse our lady could get. But remember, from this point on, you are Lady Layla's servants, and you will make all your decisions based on how they will help Lady Layla out.

If you cause her trouble, I won't hesitate to 'take care' of you both."

Mary spoke in a calm voice, and she even had a smile on her face. But her words were not quiet or happy. She had a bone to pick with anyone against her lady.

The group reached the outside barrier, and it was time to test the waters.

Rosette stepped toward the barrier, but Adam stopped her from heading out. His eyes looked shaking, but he also looked determined to speak to her.

"Let me head out first. I must check if this is safe before letting you go."

The magic had been undone, but Adam was unwilling to risk Rosette's life over something like this. So, he headed out first, and his body crossed the barrier without much problem.

Rosette was next, and she left the temple grounds.

For the first time, the pair felt free to do whatever they wanted with their lives and could not be happier.

Finally, it was time for them to be able to do whatever they wanted to.

They were ready to head out when a pair of arms warped around them and held them in place. Raziel had kept them in place while Mary looked at the young pair with sparkling eyes.

"From this point on, you both are a part of Duke Lockhart's family and Lady Layla's fraction. If anyone badmouths our lady, then you are free to do whatever you want to that person. Don't worry about repercussions since the Duke will handle everything.

You can do whatever you want as long as you do not harm Lady Layla and her reputation. On that note, I want you to help with the business and the new orphanage we opened."

Lady Layla was insured for a lot, but there were not enough hands to look after her empire, which was in the initial stages of being built.

There was not much time left for preparations, and Mary was willing to complete what her lady had left behind…not that her lady was dead.

She was very much alive and thriving as a result of what happened.

Lady Layla was just…temporarily out of it. She would wake up soon and take charge of the situation.

That was how that small group was formed, and they reached the battlefield in record time. However, by the time they reached the battlefield, the fight was ongoing, and Cardinal Bishop had headed out to battle with his assistant, Saintess Cana.

No one knew when the pair would be back (or if they would be back), so no one allowed Mary and her small group entry to the temple's grounds. They were suspicious of her identity and the reason she had come here.

And no matter how much Mary gave them her identity and tried to explain that she was not a threat, the security refused to take her seriously. They were aiming to piss her off by making her angry at their fraction.
