Layla watched the pair fighting before her eyes but could not interfere. Because of her, she did not know what to say when this fight broke out.

So, she sat back and let this play out.

Like everything else, the dynamic between the male and female leads had also changed. Layla noticed that Rosette was much more confident and outgoing, and Adam was more patient than the original work.

But most importantly, their powers felt well-trained, and Layla could feel how much these two had developed as individuals.

The original story often made these two appear as flat people who were good for being good and had no individuality. But that was not the case with the people Layla saw standing before her this time.

She could tell these two were aware of their surroundings in this playful form.

The atmosphere was relaxing, and Layla pushed herself to lean on her chair when she felt a slight disturbance approaching.

She could feel some magic following this carriage, but it was unlike anything she had ever felt. It felt sinister in a way that not even dark magic felt.

Layla could only describe the feeling as 'odd' or 'twisted' as she felt rapidly approaching magic heading her way before she snapped out of her daze and cast a barrier around their carriage.

"Brace yourself for impact. We are being attacked by something."

Layla warned as soon as her spell took form. She blinked as the carriage shook before almost throwing her out of the window.

Thankfully, her shield absorbed most of the impact, or this would have been a bad crash that killed someone.

It was still a bad crash, but at least no one died due to this crash.

'"Fuck! What the hell was that? I don't think I have felt an impact this strong before. Who the hell wants to mess with me like this?"

Rosette cursed as soon as she felt stable.

She also cracked open the door to step out and show herself to the world. She needed to check out what was happening around her.

Layla felt sorry for whatever had blocked Rosette's way, and she stepped out of the female lead's way before she stepped out after her.

The outside world was calm, and nothing could indicate what had happened. Layla could not see anything around her, which made her wonder what had happened.

"Beneath the earth…whatever attacked us is likely beneath the earth. Give me a moment, and I will drag it out."

Adam promised as he took out his silverish-white sword. It was the protagonist's special weapon forged by the gods and could only be wielded by a royal family member.

Of course, that truth only emerged halfway through the original story before it went wacky. So, Layla was unsure if Adam knew the truth about this weapon.

She was so enchanted by that silver sword that she forgot to move out of the way of that attack. But luckily, she had Rosette with her to remind her that she needed to get out of the way.

"What are you doing? Do you want to die? Come here and don't move for a minute. Adam can get violent quickly."

Rosette dragged Layla toward the designated 'safe spot' before she cast a barrier around them.

Luna could have cast a better barrier, and Layla kept the dragon's power on standby. She waited for Adam to strike the earth, which caused the barrier to shake.

She almost lost her balance before noticing that foul magic block fast approaching the surface.

But it was not heading toward Adam's location. That foul magic had decided to forsake Adam and head toward her and Rosette's way. Ad she could feel it breaking the surface, which caused Layla to grab Rosette's waist before she jumped up.

She managed to make it out in time before a mouth opened to try and swallow the two females.

Adam noticed it too late, and by the time he attacked back, that creature had gone underground again.

"Tsk, what the heck was that? I used divine allure that should have caused that beast to head my way. Why did it head toward you two instead?"

Adam questioned, and that was a big question to ask.

Layla was well-acquainted with the ability Adam talked about since he had often used it in the original story.

This ability allowed him to attract the attention of any beast and make him the target of their attacks. It would also allow his companions an opportunity to attack.

In theory, this ability should have worked and allowed Adam to slay these beasts, but that did not turn out to be the case.

Instead, he was almost forced to kill his companions because he had lost control of the beast he was handling.

"I am fine! It was not such a big deal. That beast did try to jump me, but our guard saved me at the last second. Besides that, I could feel something was wrong with that beast.

I cannot put my finger on what it was…but I could swear that there was something off about it…"

Rosette was sensitive, so it was a given why she sensed that sinister aura and felt the need to speak up about it.

Even in the original story, she could tell when the final villain had influenced a creature and slain it if necessary.

"Why did it come after us and not you? I feel like we are missing something important here. And also, what was that creature? I don't think I have even heard of it before. It did not feel like any other creature I have seen before."

Somehow, it felt like an important question to ask.

Layla did not want to brag, but she was sure the creature had headed for her and not Rosette when it attacked. Just the slight tilt of that creature made Layla think it had been after her and not the pink-haired heroine.
