Raziel was serious about raiding this place alone and had enough power to make it happen.

If it had been the usual case, Layla would have seen no problem with allowing Raziel to do this. She was more than aware of his capabilities and potential. But this time, she decided not to let Raziel do things like these.

Something about this situation struck her as odd, and Layla's common sense told her that she would need more manpower if that 'secret organization' were involved.

"It's fine! We do not need to get involved with the mess here just yet. For now, let's head back and watch this place.

Once they have all gathered, we will attack."

Layla assured Raziel, and the male reluctantly stepped back.

Somehow, Layla could tell that Raziel was still unhappy, but he was unwilling to complain either.

Now that the pair had sorted out their differences, it was time to return. Layla took the lead and straightened her back to pretend nothing had happened.

She looked like a careless noble who accidentally ended up in these parts and had no idea how that happened.

After about two minutes of walking, Layla suddenly felt a presence walking behind her, and she was well aware that this was not Raziel.

Someone else was trying to follow her and get to her. And she was not the only one who noticed.

"It seems as if a guest, Raziel, is following us. Do you think we should give our stalker a surprise?"

Layla asked in a tense voice as she turned around. She clutched her staff in her hand, which she had taken out of her inventory.

She was not the only one ready to play. Raziel brought you his sword as well, and he kept it ready to attack their enemy. His confidence in his weapon shined clearly in his eyes.

It is even more evident that this man is stalking her and Raziel when he falters and hesitates to follow them once he notices their weapons. That person made a second decision before quickly gathering himself and continuing to follow the pair.

Now Layla felt surprised and intrigued. She no longer wanted to end the situation but take care of it and talk to the guy more.

Raziel made a motion to attack the man, but Layla stopped him and decided to step forward herself.

"Hey, I know we are being followed, and my common sense tells me I should eliminate you. But because I am such a good person, I would rather not have to fight and kill unnecessarily.

That's why I will give you a chance - you either come out yourself, and we can call it even. Or, I can drag you out, and you can lose half your body. The choice is yours to make in the end."

Layla offered, and the man stiffened before he decided to come out of his hiding place. The spell that had been cast around the man…no, child... wore off, and the kid looked different from Layla and Raziel.

Seeing Raziel take a step toward the child made him even more nervous. The child quickly backed away, only for his back to hit a wall.

"D-Don't come close to me, or I will scream and attract attention. A-Also, if you promise not to harm me, I will show you the shortest way out of here. I swear on my abilities that I am lying to deceive you.

I will help you out and not ask for anything more/"

The kid promised, but he looked scared of Layla and Raziel. It was understandable why he felt this way, but Raziel did not intend to let this kid go. At this rate, this kid was as good as dead, and the kid realized it as well. That was why he closed his eyes and accepted his fate.

He was about to get chopped in half when Layla stepped forward and stopped Raziel. She felt intrigued by the kid and his boldness.

"I do not like to give people chances, but your bravery is commendable. Raziel, we can give this kid a chance to prove himself. And if not, then disposing of him would be easy for us to do."

Raziel sighed as he heard his mistress talking. He felt that trying to talk her out of it would be impossible, so he might as well give up now.

Layla, who understood what this man was thinking, just let out a chuckle before her eyes darkened, and she looked at the kid.

"How about you do us another favor while you help us out of here? Can you tell us what is happening in this alley? Something about this feels sinister to me."

Layla asked in an easy-going voice, but her intention to know more was clear.

Seeing her speak about this made the kid bite his lip in agitation, and he knew he wouldn't be able to keep things to himself for much longer.

"I…this alley used to be a good place…I know it sounds ridiculous, but the people here used to live normal and honest lives they could be proud of.

And then…he appeared. He called himself the 'boss' and someone who could hear the 'real god' voice. People initially did not believe him, but they all felt helpless in front of his charm and mighty power.

This place is more like his stronghold, making his name more visible and carrying out his will. I am afraid that we have lost our true purpose of survival."

The kid spoke increasingly, telling Layla all the important information she wanted to hear. The more he said, the more distraught he looked. Some weird magic also surrounded the kid, and Layla realized it was a seal just before it tried to strangle the kid for speaking about things he should not be talking about.

"Fuck, I should have known it would not be easy to get the information I need. Kid, don't move. I will help you out with this."
