Reborn From Oblivion
Chapter 1000
Mrs. Vincent watched Morris''s tall, upright figure as he walked away. Even though his body was marked by disability, there was a quiet pride in the way he carried himself nothing about him looked defeated.
In that moment, something clicked for the olddy. She let out a long sigh, realizing it was her own narrow-mindedness that had clouded her judgment all this time.
She''d always thought that Morris''s physical limitations meant his spirit must be limited too—either timid or insecure. So, she''dvished her grandmotherly affection on the other grandchildren, barely sparing a thought for him.fn645c Follow current nov?ls on find?novel/fn645c
She had never seen it before, but now it was obvious: Morris might be frail, but his heart was brighter and stronger than anyone else''s.
Regret and frustration twisted inside her, and she knew exactly where those feelings came from-her own treatment of Morris.
"Arthur, go and bring your brother Lincoln back," she said, her voice trembling with anxiety. "And while you''re at it, make sure he understands exactly why Vincent Corporation lost to Stewart Enterprises. Spell it out for him. Tell him to look at the big picture, not just listen to one side, and definitely not to get stubborn and mess up thepany''s future."
With those words, the olddy walked away, her steps heavy with resignation. By evening, Jules and his brothers hade home.
Arthur had been waiting at the door for ages. As soon as he spotted them, he rushed over, nerves written all over his face.
"Lincoln, Dad, Uncle," Arthur greeted them one by one.
Jules, who''d always been fond of his aplished nephew, smiled. "Arthur, you''re waiting for us-something important on your mind?"
Arthur shot a nce toward the inner courtyard and nodded, his face dark.
"Grandma asked me to wait for you. She wants me to tell you something." Jules and his brothers settled onto the living room sofas, loungingfortably. Jules picked up his tea and took azy sip. "Go on then."
Arthur swallowed, gathering his thoughts. "Our deal with East Sunrise Estates— Stewart Enterprises swooped in and took it from us."
Jules''s teacup froze halfway to his lips. He stared at Arthur, disbelief all over his face. "How is that even possible? What does Stewart Enterprises have that we don''t?"
Arthur leaned forward, his voice rising. "Lincoln, you have no idea. Their robotics technology is lightyears ahead of ours. When their robots are in front of you,
ever tell if they''re human can
or
machine. If Vivian hadn''t used the controller to switch the robot into demo mode, I would never have believed it wasn''t real." s
Jules looked stunned. "You''re serious?"
Arthur nodded, then dropped the real bombshell. "And those amazing robots? They were created by... Morris."
Jules went pale, then flushed. "No way!"
Arthur replied, “If I hadn''t seen it with my own eyes, I''d never believe Morris could pull off something so advanced. But just before you got home, I got a report from our inside man."
Arthur went on toy out everything
he''d found out: why Morris had gone to prison, hisplicated history
with the four big families, how bonel
built Maple Technologies from nothing, and the real story behind his early release. s
Even Jules, a man who''d seen more than his share of the world, was left speechless.
"Are you sure you''re not just making him out to be some kind of
superviin?" Jutes still couldn''t Jutes still couldn''t wrap his head around the idea that the thin, wheelchair-bound boy he''d dismissed could have such hidden strength. s
Arthur gave a wry smile. "Lincoln, you know me. I''m thest person who''d want a family member outshining me."
Arthur wasn''t like Jackson. Jackson had ambition but tried to hide it. Arthur, on the other hand, wore his ambition on his sleeve-always working, always fighting for
more.
Jules sat in silence for a long time, clearly shaken.
He''d always prided himself on reading people at a nce. The first time heid eyes on Morris, he thought he had him pegged-a cripple, obsessed with chasing fame and fortune. Now, he wasn''t so sure.
