Greta felt like Cameron had ripped her heart straight out of her chest. She couldn''t breathe—she just copsed on the floor, gasping for air.

"Cameron, I''m sick. Take me to the hospital," she rasped, her face flushing a scary shade of purple.

Cameron looked down at her, not a hint of the panic or tenderness he used to show. His eyes were cold, like he was staring at a stranger.

He let out an impatient sigh, pulled out his phone, and dialed 911.

"I called you an ambnce. That''s all I can do for you now."

With that, Cameron turned and walked away.

Gretay there, eyes red and stinging, watching his back as he left.

"Cameron, what if... even if Nellie gets her memory back, she still doesn''t want toe back to you? After everything you''ve done to hurt her..."

"She will," Cameron said, his jaw clenched. "If she learns that everything I did was because I was manipted, she''ll forgive me."

"Your little schemes aren''t going to work," he added through gritted teeth.

    Meanwhile

Nellie brought Almos back to the Stewart estate.

In the living room, Lincoln was pestering Morris for a chess game. As soon as Almos walked in, Morris flinched so hard that all the chess pieces scattered across the board.

Lincoln immediately picked up on it. "Nathan, what''s up with you?"

Nathalie walked over, her gaze drifting from the chessboard to Morris, eyes deep and impossible to read.

What on earth is Morris so afraid of?

"Who is that?" Morris asked, his voice shaking.

    Nathalie replied, "That''s Almos-the hypnotist."

Lincoln frowned. "Why''d you bring him here?"

"He took some of my memories before," Nathalie said evenly. "Today, I want him

to hypnotize me again. I want my memories back."

Lincoln snorted. "And you actually buy into that mumbo-jumbo?"

Nathalie just smiled, choosing not to answer.

Her eyes lingered on Nathan''s face.

"Nathalie..." Nathan''s voice wavered as he grabbed her hand.

She gently patted his shoulder, her voice soothing. "It''s all right."

But Morris still clung to her hand, refusing to let go.

"That thing I asked you about the other day... do you remember?"

Nathalie frowned. "What are you talking about?"

Suddenly, Morris took off his sunsses. His narrow eyes were full of bitterness, wildness, and a touch of self-mockery. "If you gave me a get-out-of-jail-free card. would it even matter?"

Nathalie blinked, caught off guard. "What have you done that''s so unforgivable? How many pardon''s would it take to give you peace of mind?"

Morris slowly let go of her hand.

Nathalie heard him sigh-a quiet, hopeless sound.

She asked softly, "If you did something wrong, can''t you just fix it?"

But Morris''s reply was barely a whisper. "No matter how many times I could do it over, I''d make the same choice."

Nathalie just stared at him, stunned.

Confused, she made her way upstairs.

Almos followed, but as he passed Morris, the two locked eyes. Tension crackled in

    the air-a silent standoff.

    "We meet again," Almos said.

Morris shot him a cold look. "Get lost."

Almos''s face darkened, but he walked away without another word.

Nathalie stopped on the stairs and called to Lizzy. "I''m about to have a hypnosis session, Lizzy. Keep an eye on the door for me."

    "Sure thing, sis," Lizzy said.

And just then, guests from the Sharp family arrived.

Jules pulled up in a shy sports car, and behind him was

    a whole et

convoy of sedans. Each one, besides the driver, was packed with

    gleaming, extravagant gifts.
