Their bodies pressed lightly together. She could feel Ye Sanshao’s slightly cool skin, the strength of his muscles, and his powerful hands tightly embracing her waist. His face was alluring, his eyes as deep as star-filled skies. Her heart suddenly began to thump wildly.

"You... what?" Ye Sanshao’s smile deepened as he gazed at the bashful, bewildered woman in his arms. The sour feeling in his heart vanished in a flash, leaving him in high spirits.

"I..." Shangguan You muttered, her tongue feeling tied in knots. She knew Ye Sanshao was enchanting, a destructive flame that drew moths. Gazing at the beguiling man before her, her heart inexplicably fell into chaos. Looking at his handsome face, so close, she suddenly, desperately wanted to kiss him.

"You what?" Ye Sanshao lowered his head, his warm breath caressing her face. His grip tightened, pulling her soft body close. They were eye to eye, nose to nose, face to face, as he gazed at her intently.

"Don’t look at me like that," Shangguan You finally found her voice, murmuring as she stared into Ye Sanshao’s direct, seductive eyes.

"Why?"

"Because... that look in your eyes makes me feel so guilty. I think..." Shangguan You murmured, then stopped mid-sentence, abruptly realizing what she was about to say. She quickly clamped her mouth shut.

"You think what?" Ye Sanshao chuckled lightly. One hand supported her, while the other gently lifted her chin. His sensual lips brushed hers in a light kiss, then quickly moved away. His alluring voice sounded again in her ear, "Is this what you were thinking? Hehe."

Ye Sanshao chuckled again, his tongue lightly licking his lips. He looked at the stunned woman beneath him and kissed her once more, this time with a kiss filled with deep affection and love.

His kiss, like him, was overbearing and assertive, with a hint of conquest. Though Ye Sanshao was being very gentle, cherishing Shangguan You in his arms like a precious treasure, his inherent assertiveness was still there, melded with tenderness. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain on her lip. Ye Sanshao had gently bitten her, his lips softly kissing the blood that welled there.

Shangguan You frowned and abruptly kneed Ye Sanshao in the stomach. This bastard! How dare he try to seduce me?

"Girl, are you trying to murder your husband?" Ye Sanshao was still savoring her taste when pain shot through his stomach. He leaped back quickly, his hands gently touching his lips where her scent lingered.

"Are you a dog?" Shangguan You snapped.

"It’s because you were so distracted, thinking about other things! I was just trying to get you to focus," Ye Sanshao’s voice sounded somewhat aggrieved. "If you hadn’t been distracted, I wouldn’t have bitten you, and you wouldn’t have pushed me away."

"Hmph! From now on, keep your distance from me, or I’ll bury you alive!" Shangguan You, her face flushing red, scolded.

Ye Sanshao, however, seemed fearless. "That won’t do," he said, approaching her again and wrapping his arms tightly around her waist. "Aunt and Dad are waiting for us to eat. It’s not good to be late."

He continued, "Go on, hit me if you want. I promise I won’t fight back. But if you injure me, you’ll have to wait a few days for the information you want. You might be able to wait, but I’m not sure Zhuge Feng can."

His words made Shangguan You’s Water Element freeze once more. "You win!" she bit out, glaring at the man beside her who was grinning like a fox. She ground her teeth in frustration. Damn it! He took advantage of me, and now he’s threatening me!

"I’m only thinking of your best interests, girl," Ye Sanshao said, his lips curving into a slight grin. "Let’s go. You must be tired after fighting that waste of space for so long. I’ll take care of you on the way home." Gripping her, he pulled her close and, before she could object, lifted her horizontally into his arms. Then, he swiftly soared into the air.

"Ah!" Shangguan You exclaimed softly, her hands instinctively wrapping around Ye Sanshao’s neck.

"That’s a good girl. Hold on tight," Ye Sanshao said, his lips curling into a smile as he looked at the woman in his arms, his heart brimming with sweetness.

Shangguan You just snorted, "Hmph."

"Girl, in the future, you’re not allowed to be so close to other men," Ye Sanshao’s deep, sensual voice commanded.

"Are you some kind of busybody, meddling so much?" Shangguan You retorted disdainfully.

"I only meddle when it comes to you. I couldn’t care less about other men," he stated.

"Hmph."

"And stay away from Shangguan Qing. Even though he’s your cousin, he looks shifty-eyed to me. I can tell he’s up to no good," the jealous man declared, staking his claim.

"Hmph! Cousin Qing is a graceful and refined gentleman. Are you just jealous of him?"

"That Yu Zifeng, too. Keep your distance from him. How dare he show his face in front of you, looking like that."

"In short, stay away from all those men."

"Fine," Shangguan You said, a smirk playing on her lips as she spoke with feigned indifference. "From now on, I’ll stay away from all men. That includes you, naturally."

"No! I meant all *other* men. That doesn’t include me!"

"Are you a man?"

"Of course, I am!"

"Then, since you’re a man, I naturally need to stay away from you."

"I don’t count!" Ye Sanshao bit out, his teeth clenched.

"If you’re not a man, then you don’t count," Shangguan You rolled her eyes. Seeing the veins throbbing on the temples of the man holding her, she felt a surge of delight.

"Shangguan You!" he roared.

"I’m home now. Thanks for bringing me back," Shangguan You said, hearing his shout. She lightly jumped from his arms, landing softly on the ground, and darted towards her house.

"Where do you think you’re going?" Ye Sanshao’s large hand shot out, tightly grasping hers. A smile touched his charming face.

"Home, naturally," Shangguan You replied, waving her hand to free herself from his grip. Looking back at the man following closely behind her, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes again.

"I’ll see you in."

"I’m already at my front door. I don’t need you to see me in," Shangguan You declined coolly. She saw a few anxious figures pacing by the entrance and quickened her pace, running towards them.
