"Gained sentience? Yes, that’s one way to put it. As for why it’s hundreds of meters underground, I’m not sure of the reason yet."

"Stay here and behave, little lass," Ye Sanshao said to Shangguan You. With a flash, his dark figure was gone, reappearing beside Ye Ershao. A Silver Long Sword materialized in his hand, and the two of them attacked the Man-Eating Flower from the left and right.

A Fire Dragon erupted from the Man-Eating Flower’s mouth, a blanket of flames engulfing the large cave. The two Ming Shi Elders, already suffering from the previous Electric Shock, now screamed in agony from the burns.

"AH, SAVE ME! GIRL, QUICK, SAVE ME! From now on, all grudges between us will be erased!" Elder Ming shouted towards Shangguan You, even as the vine-like tendrils tightened around him, pulling his body faster into the Man-Eating Flower’s gaping maw.

He shouted, furiously channeling his Spiritual Energy to resist. But the more force he used, the tighter the tendrils bound him. A suffocating pain crushed his chest, and the shadow of death loomed, engulfing his entire being.

"AHHH!" Elder Ming screamed as he saw the Man-Eating Flower’s sharp teeth close in on his head before it swallowed his body whole.

"Elder Ming!" Elder Shi cried out, watching his companion disappear bit by bit into the Man-Eating Flower’s mouth. He closed his eyes in resignation, having witnessed his comrade being devoured. Fresh blood splattered all over him, and he knew he would be next.

They were not Shangguan You, so there would be no rescue from Ye Sanshao for them. Ye Sanshao and Ye Ershao stood in mid-air, swords in hand, watching coldly as the Man-Eating Flower consumed Elder Ming and let out a satisfied burp.

It then launched another attack on the two brothers. The battle raged on in the cave. Shangguan You’s figure flashed, and she swiftly moved into her space.

As soon as she entered the space, purple Spiritual Energy surged towards her. Time in this space passes much slower than outside, she recalled. With this thought, Shangguan You quickly took a shower and removed the singed white beard.
