Reborn! I Ditched the Run and Married the Heir
Chapter 301: Targeted
CHAPTER 301: CHAPTER 301: TARGETED
Xiao Li glanced at the time, "It’s almost time for work, no time to talk in detail. Are you on the day shift or both day and night shifts today?"
"Both day and night shifts."
Xiao Li nodded, "Then let’s wait until tomorrow morning when we’re off duty, find a place to sit down, and I’ll tell you everything in detail. Don’t worry, Wenwen will be alright."
Hua Xiaochun nodded, "Okay."
After speaking, the two took the elevator upstairs.
In the respiratory department, Yue Wenwen didn’t change into her scrubs first but waited by the elevator for Xiao Li. As soon as Xiao Li exited the elevator, Yue Wenwen hurriedly grabbed her arm, "Sister, what on earth did you talk about?"
"With such a short amount of time, what is there to talk about? Hua Xiaochun just asked me a couple of things. Now it’s time for work, so I didn’t have time to talk in detail. We agreed to discuss it after work tomorrow.
If you want to know, just come by tomorrow."
The two talked as they walked into the department, changed their clothes, and started their shift.
Today’s shift was quite calm. The patients didn’t increase dramatically, and the flu Xiao Li was worried about didn’t break out, which was good news.
In H Country, Qin Xiao was sitting in a café drinking coffee, with a view of the Woer Company building outside the café.
After a while, a brown-haired man sat across from Qin Xiao.
Qin Xiao looked up at the man, "Lai Si, what would you like to drink?"
"Same as you!"
Qin Xiao waved to call the waiter and ordered a cup of coffee.
"Qin, you really are an interesting person. Choosing to meet me so close to our company just to recruit me. Aren’t you afraid your plan will get sabotaged?" Lai Si said with a smile.
Qin Xiao chuckled, "Because I’ve changed my mind now; I’m not planning to recruit you anymore."
Lai Si’s expression changed slightly, as the terms offered by Qin made him very tempted. However, since the old company had taken good care of him, he was momentarily undecided.
But now, Qin has changed his mind and doesn’t intend to recruit him anymore.
Did Qin choose another target?
Lai Si was a core member of Woer Company’s technical department. If someone highly skilled in technology could join their company’s medical device research, it would mean a major breakthrough for their device development.
Is this why Qin Xiao spent ten days here?
If Zhang Yang had come, it would only take two or three days to finalize the equipment purchase.
As for recruiting, people would be sent by Qin Tan to negotiate slowly.
But later, Qin Xiao came. While purchasing equipment, he can cooperate with Qin Tan’s people to speed up the negotiation and ensure success.
Lai Si’s expression quickly returned to normal.
He felt that Qin Xiao couldn’t have changed targets so quickly. It was probably just a negotiation tactic.
Seeing the change in expression, Qin Xiao obviously understood his thoughts, slightly smirked but didn’t say anything.
The waiter brought him a cup of coffee. Lai Si, though feeling uneasy, picked up the coffee and drank it slowly.
After finishing the coffee, Qin Xiao still hadn’t spoken. Lai Si started to feel anxious. Just as he was about to say something, Qin Xiao stood up directly, "Lai Si, maybe we’ll meet again!"
Saying this, Qin Xiao extended his hand, and the bewildered Lai Si shook hands with him, watching his departing back.
Qin Xiao left the café and got into the car where Qin Hai had boarded just a few minutes earlier. When Qin Xiao got in, Qin Hai immediately handed him the newly signed contract.
Qin Xiao got up only after receiving Qin Hai’s message.
Lai Si guessed correctly; this was indeed one of his negotiation strategies, but Lai Si wasn’t the real target, just a stepping stone.
During their meeting in the café, on the opposite side on the second floor in a private dining room, Qin Hai was also negotiating with someone. From the room, they could see Qin Xiao and Lai Si in the café.
Qin Hai was the head of the Human Resources Department at Qin Corporation, and the person he was talking to was Kate, the head of Woer Company’s technical department.
Kate was the real person Qin Xiao wanted to recruit, whereas Lai Si was just incidental, primarily there to support the operation. If both could be recruited, so much the better.
As to why Qin Xiao met with Lai Si instead of Kate, it was appropriate for the recruitment, led by Qin Corporation, to have Qin Hai, the HR manager, meet the actual target.
Qin Xiao looked over the contract, "Very nice, Lai Si is also tempted. Another couple of days should be enough to recruit him."
"Yes, this time we succeeded largely thanks to the Second Master’s assistance.
So, Second Master, should I take care of the Lai Si side again?" Qin Hai asked.
Qin Xiao shook his head, "No need, now it’s time for him to come to us!"
"Yes."
The car continued forward. Just as they were nearing the hotel, there was an explosion ahead, followed by a thick fog and gunfire all around.
Sitting in the car, Qin Xiao couldn’t see anything and closed his eyes, listening carefully. Gunfire was everywhere, but if he listened carefully, he could still discern where it was coming from.
Being trapped in the car was quite distressing. Despite being bulletproof, if it got shot enough times, it would still be destroyed!
But just getting out of the car wasn’t a wise choice.
The only thing to do now was wait. Everyone in the car had drawn their guns, and when people began to close in from all directions, Qin Xiao gave the order, "Fire..."
The driver lowered the window, and Qin Xiao and the others immediately fired, taking down several people nearby.
After taking down those people, everyone got out of the car and began to fight.
Shortly after they fled, a bomb blew up at the car’s location.
While Qin Xiao battled in a gunfight, Xiao Li was teaching medical students how to write patient records and input them into the computer.
As Bai Yu passed by and saw Xiao Li instructing the students, he made a mental note to assign the upcoming batch of intern medical students to her.
Xiao Li was unaware that her good cousin had plans for her; if she knew, she probably wouldn’t care.
Clinical doctors training medical students is quite normal.
During their internship, teaching medical students was also part of their internship project.
Xu Fang and Zhang Wu were listening intently to Xiao Li’s lecture, a rare learning opportunity.
Don’t underestimate working on patient records; if a doctor can’t even understand patient records, there’s no way they can manage anything else.
Doctor Fang came over, "Doctor Xiao, the people you’re teaching are really lucky."
As a fellow doctor, Doctor Fang felt she didn’t have the patience to teach step-by-step and would rather let interns figure it out themselves.
The words of Doctor Fang were acknowledged by other doctors in the office.
Xu Fang and Zhang Wu heard the seniors’ comments and counted themselves lucky.
