Reborn: I Won't Chase You Anymore, School Prince
Chapter 444: Secret Little Joys
CHAPTER 444: CHAPTER 444: SECRET LITTLE JOYS
Ashley Shaw didn’t want to leave her to handle everything alone, so she was about to stand up.
"I’ll go with you."
"No need, I can do it." Evelyn Vaughn promptly rejected the offer, quickening her pace towards where the boys were seated.
As soon as she arrived, the boys’ attention immediately turned to her.
For some reason, Evelyn’s heart started racing.
The homeroom teacher wasn’t wrong; the boys in their class were indeed quite good-looking.
There were 36 students in the class, with only 11 being boys, and among them, several were rather handsome.
Leo Bell was the most outstanding of them all.
His height was remarkable, and he had a certain charm about him.
The LV limited edition sneakers he wore gave away his non-average family background.
Before coming over, Evelyn had tidied her hair.
She tried her best to appear confident and natural.
"Leo Bell."
Seeing that she was looking for Leo, the boys started joking around.
Some even whistled.
Evelyn’s face turned redder, but her expression stayed serious.
Leo glared at the boys, stopping them from teasing, then stood up and asked, "What’s up?"
"Do you have pen and paper? We should start taking notes now. Otherwise, it’ll be hard to find anyone once everyone goes back to the dorms."
"Yeah, I have them." Leo pulled a notebook and a pen from his backpack.
Evelyn noticed that his backpack wasn’t a luxury item, but it was still a branded one.
However, she quickly glanced away and took the pen and paper, saying, "Could you create a class group? It’d be convenient for calling everyone to gather for photos tomorrow."
Leo nodded, "Sure."
Evelyn felt relieved and a secret joy rose within her seeing Leo cooperating so well.
She maintained a calm demeanor, saying, "Let’s split the tasks. One of us will take note of everyone’s height and weight, and the other will have them scan the QR code to join the group. It’ll be more efficient that way."
Leo still said the same thing, "Sure."
Then he glanced towards Ashley Shaw’s direction and asked, "By the way, what’s the class president doing?"
Evelyn’s expression stiffened slightly, "She said she has something else to handle and asked us to get started."
Evelyn didn’t know why she said that, but it came out instinctively.
Fortunately, Leo didn’t bring up Ashley Shaw again, and simply replied, "Oh, okay, I’ll create the group, and you take note of everyone’s height and weight. Let’s start from the first row."
"Mm-hmm."
They wasted no further time and started from the left side of the first row, one recording while the other pulled people into the group, working rather efficiently together.
Ashley Shaw had just been chatting with Joy about what to eat for a late-night snack and was about to ask Lynn Redding if she wanted to join them when Jocelyn Hayes lightly nudged her arm.
Ashley asked in confusion, "What is it?"
Jocelyn motioned towards the first row with her lips.
Ashley followed her gaze.
Seeing Leo and Evelyn busy, she suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.
"I should go help too..."
She hadn’t yet fully stood up when Jocelyn pressed her back down by the shoulder.
"Don’t bother, can’t you see they’re happily busy?"
Ashley’s eyes reflected confusion, "What do you mean?"
Jocelyn signaled again with her lips.
"Look at her, she’s as radiant as a peach blossom and seems eager to stay busy. If you go over now, what would you become? A third wheel?"
Ashley looked over again.
This time, she looked more closely.
Evelyn wasn’t exactly radiant like a peach blossom, but there was a subtle sweet smile on her lips, and she occasionally stole glances at Leo.
Whenever Leo lagged behind, she would stand and wait, only continuing to the next student when he caught up.
Ashley finally understood and sat back down firmly.
"If that’s the case, then I won’t go join in."
Lynn, thinking a bit more, said softly, "But if they’re the only ones busy, won’t people say something about you? After all, you are the class president."
Ashley shook her head, "I’m not worried about that. Let them say what they want. If you care about everything people say, you might as well stop living."
Lynn initially wanted to urge Ashley to take some initiative, but on second thought, what’s there to fight over work for? Ashley never wanted to be the class president anyway.
So she swallowed her words back down.
After about twenty minutes or so, the two finally arrived in front of them.
Evelyn suddenly felt a bit guilty for no apparent reason, and her voice was softer than before, "Please write your height and weight here..."
Ashley Shaw calmly took it and wrote down her height and weight.
Jocelyn leaned over, her eyes wide open.
"Are you only 90 pounds?"
Ashley sighed, "Maybe it’s the climate, I’ve lost a bit more weight recently."
"You need to gain some weight then! Let’s go for a barbecue tonight, eat for three days and nights straight, and I guarantee you’ll gain weight. Right now, you’re just too thin."
Ashley’s height was considered tall for a girl and with that weight, she was practically a stick.
Yet, surprisingly, she still had a chest.
Which made Jocelyn envious to the point of jealousy.
Ashley remarked, "You’re one to talk, you should also gain weight. You’re down to just skin and bones."
"No, I have to lose weight. I’m just about to hit 95 pounds, and I have to maintain that limit at all costs!"
Lynn chimed in from the side, "Who are you making jealous now? I have to control my diet daily to stay at 100 pounds, and you have to gain weight!"
Ashley stuck out her tongue, "Can’t help it, I’m just not that into food, you know?"
Lynn shook her head, "I don’t understand."
The three of them filled out the form while jesting with each other, not noticing Evelyn’s face growing sour.
Not because of anything else but due to their topic of discussion: weight.
Evelyn had a round face and was on the chubbier side.
At 158 cm tall, she weighed exactly 120 pounds.
She didn’t actually look fat, but she knew all too well that her stomach, without sucking in, looked like she was pregnant.
And from the side, she wasn’t as flat as Ashley and the others but rather... thicker.
Now, the three were openly discussing their weights, which was particularly grating to Evelyn’s ears.
She couldn’t tell if Ashley and the others were doing it on purpose, but she was already hurt by it.
Soon, they all finished writing down their height and weight, and Leo handed over his phone with a QR code.
"Here’s the class group QR code, please join."
The three of them took out their phones and scanned the code.
Evelyn turned and walked to the other side, hearing Leo ask Ashley, "Can we add each other as friends? It would be easier for the class committee to communicate via WeChat."
Evelyn’s pace slowed briefly, then quickened again as she headed towards the occupied seats on the right side.
"Please fill out the form!"
Her voice was a bit loud, startling the two girls there.
