Reborn: I Won't Chase You Anymore, School Prince
Chapter 449: Mockery
CHAPTER 449: CHAPTER 449: MOCKERY
If it’s Leo Bell, then it’s something related to the class.
Couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed and annoyed.
Ariana Grant slept here last night with a mattress. To avoid disturbing the other three, Ashley Shaw muted the ringtone first, then tiptoed to the bathroom to call Leo Bell back.
Leo answered and asked, "Did I disturb your sleep?"
Ashley had just checked the time. It was already nine in the morning, which wasn’t too early.
She smiled and replied, "No, I’m already awake. What’s up?"
"Here’s the thing, the homeroom teacher just announced the time for the student ID photo session in the group chat. I noticed both of you hadn’t replied, so I called."
"Oh, oh, what time?"
"At ten o’clock sharp. I’ll post a message in the group chat shortly. If anyone hasn’t acknowledged it, could you knock on the girls’ dorms for me?"
"Sure, sure, thank you."
"No problem..."
"So we’ll start gathering downstairs at 9:40?"
"That’s fine."
"Alright, I’ll hang up now."
Ashley hung up, seeing it was only 9:05. She quickly freshened up and went out to buy breakfast for the other three.
The campus convenience store, fruit store, and barbershop were all located in the multipurpose building.
On her way there, Ashley noticed the campus was quite empty, but once she got her buns and came out, more people were around.
Judging by their slightly youthful and innocent looks, they seemed to be freshmen like her.
—The seniors must still be asleep.
Having gone through college once, she understood this very well.
After entering university, it’s easy to sleep in as a form of revenge, making up for the sleep lost during three years of high school.
Only the freshmen have some vitality left.
Except Ashley Shaw.
In her mind, she’s already a middle-aged person.
Psychologically and spiritually, at least.
Only her body is still young.
Holding the buns, Ashley returned to find all three in the dorm still sound asleep.
She woke them up one by one.
Ariana sat up rubbing her eyes, momentarily disoriented.
"Where is this..."
Ashley patted her back, "School! Our dorm! You’d better go back. Your class should have a photo session too today."
"What time is it?"
"Nine twenty."
"Oh shoot! I need to go back!"
Ariana jumped up, grabbed her bedding, and dashed out.
Looking at her, she seemed like a big rolling ball—hugging her quilt and pillow, she got stuck a bit while exiting the door.
"Hey! Breakfast!" Ashley waved the buns in her hand.
Ariana’s voice came from afar:
Such a commotion completely woke up Jocelyn Hayes and Lynn Redding.
"Ariana should lose weight," Jocelyn remarked.
Ashley laughed, "Watch out, or she’ll hear you and smack you."
Jocelyn made a scared face and quickly got out of bed to wash up.
She’s very meticulous, not to mention there’s a photo shoot today.
These photos will stick with you for four years... oh, and who knows, the academic portal photos might last a lifetime.
So she had to apply an exquisite and beautiful makeup.
Ashley was more casual, wearing no cosmetics, just styled her hair into a bun to conveniently show her ears in the photo.
Jocelyn came over to look.
"This won’t do! You’re our class beauty queen, you must look gorgeous."
"No—I need to knock on doors and gather everyone."
"No rush, it’s still early. I’ll do your makeup, just ten minutes... Besides, you’re giving a speech on stage tonight, right?"
Thinking about the speech, Ashley got a headache.
Not sure if she left her intelligence during the college entrance exam, but she forgot the speech she memorized perfectly yesterday.
It’s like she forgot to save it in her brain.
During her daze, Jocelyn pushed her onto a chair.
Jocelyn’s makeup skills were adept—she had been learning since middle school.
According to Vincent Ford, if someone as carefree about studying as Jocelyn could get into this university, it was a miraculous blessing for her family.
So Vincent had no further demands from Jocelyn.
Just hoped she would learn something steadily and get into a regular hospital—so if she feels unwell, she would know what to do.
Ashley also knew through Jensen Hayes that Jocelyn had a heart condition.
So she just let Jocelyn have her fun with the makeup.
Initially, it was just applying foundation, then it also included doing the eyebrows.
Eye makeup was a must after perfecting the eyebrows.
Step by step, Jocelyn ended up doing a full makeover on her.
Staring at the impeccable face in the mirror, Ashley felt a bit overwhelmed.
"Am I overdressed?"
"Nonsense! A beauty should show off her beauty confidently, or it’d be such a waste!"
Lynn sincerely agreed, "Ashley, you look great like this. If I were a guy, I’d like you too."
Ashley held her forehead, "No, you don’t get it. Besides the photo, there’s facial recognition for morning exercises today..."
She’d never be able to wake up early to put on makeup for morning exercises.
She’s afraid the facial recognition might not recognize her without makeup then.
The two laughed.
"Hahaha... Ashley, you’re overthinking it. At most, this enhances your look. Facial recognition can’t be fooled just by a head swap, let alone this."
"Yeah, it just makes you look a bit healthier and more refined than without makeup."
Out of time to debate, Ashley urged them to finish up quickly and get downstairs to gather, then went to knock on the door of the next dorm.
After a meeting yesterday, each class leader received some materials. She knew rooms 401 to 406 belonged to their class.
She knocked door to door; most people were already up, with only a few just waking.
Not well acquainted, Ashley didn’t rush them, just said, "I’ll be waiting downstairs; come down when you’re ready."
A few girls nodded noncommittally.
Turning around, Ashley bumped into Evelyn Vaughn coming out of her dorm.
Upon seeing Ashley’s face, Evelyn frowned slightly.
The next moment, she blurted out, "Today is for photos and facial recognition, isn’t your heavy makeup inappropriate?"
Actually, Ashley’s makeup wasn’t heavy; every part was just a bit enhanced, certainly not affecting facial recognition.
But earlier in the dorm, Evelyn’s roommate had asked if she was going to put on makeup; she hadn’t bothered, claiming not to be good at it—though she did wish for prettier photos.
In this dilemma, she ended up not wearing any makeup.
But the moment she stepped out, she saw Ashley’s fully made-up face, her beauty almost overwhelming, making Evelyn inexplicably uncomfortable.
So she couldn’t help but make that remark.
