Reborn in the 1980s: Recapture My Devoted Husband
Chapter 442 - 440: Lin Wan’s Anger
CHAPTER 442: CHAPTER 440: LIN WAN’S ANGER
The little one who was asleep suddenly thought of the past few days and darkened his eyes, asking Lin Wan,
"Hmm, okay."
Han Yi’s vacation is limited, and he doesn’t have much time to spend with her. However, as long as Han Yi is home, he doesn’t see friends or go out, he basically spends time with her.
Lin Wan was halfway there when she realized she forgot something, "You go first, I’ll go back and get something."
"What is it? I’ll help you get it."
Lin Wan gave him a playful glance, "No need," she just needed to get some tissue paper.
Han Yi smiled and let her go back, while he headed towards the bathroom.
However, as he approached, he suddenly stopped. His expression tightened, and a flash of doubt crossed his eyes.
He retracted his steps and turned around, heading back the way he came.
Zhang Dandan had been wandering in Lin Wan’s courtyard every morning these past few days, trying to seduce Han Yi. How could a man resist the temptation of a woman? She was sure she could win Han Yi’s heart. She was determined to have a big fat son with Han Yi. By then, she didn’t believe Han Yi could continue with Lin Wan.
No matter how much money their family had, it didn’t change the fact that they were from the countryside.
If she married Han Yi, she would certainly seize this house from Lin Wan. Then, she would have Han Yi help her transfer her household registration. In the future, she’d be a city person too.
Han Yi could love her just as he loved Lin Wan, and his mother-in-law could surround her and serve her.
...(This little girl’s thoughts are certainly ambitious.)
When Lin Wan came out of the house and saw Han Yi returning, she playfully scolded him, "Weren’t you waiting for me? Why did you come back so quickly?"
Han Yi said with a smile, "I already went."
Lin Wan was a bit surprised at how fast that was. She was afraid the child would wake up soon and didn’t pay much attention.
Just as she passed through the hallway and entered the backyard, she saw Zhang Dandan coming out of the toilet, hurriedly crossing the door and heading towards the front yard.
Lin Wan frowned slightly, understanding why Han Yi had come back again. If Han Yi hadn’t been vigilant, someone like Brother never served in the military probably wouldn’t even know someone was inside and might have barged in suddenly. Not to mention the awkwardness, the consequences could be serious.
Clearly, this Zhang Dandan was up to something. She and her mom had thought Zhang Dandan was after her brother. But now, she had set her sights on Han Yi.
The front yard had two toilets, and her mom was probably at the morning market now, with no need for the women’s toilet.
Lin Wan originally modified the house’s toilet for convenience since it was just her and Han Yi, and Han Yi wasn’t often home anyways.
Zhang Dandan deliberately came to their toilet and hadn’t even closed the bathroom door.
"Has she been here these days?" Han Yi brought her over just to let her know, right?
"Hmm," Han Yi responded clearly.
Zhang Dandan’s intentions disgusted Lin Wan. If by coincidence the front yard’s toilet was occupied, it would be understandable to come over here. But life doesn’t have so many coincidences, and it was obvious Zhang Dandan had ulterior motives.
That morning, Lin Wan felt heavy-hearted.
If she had set her sights on her brother, it would be one thing, but now she’s shamelessly targeting her husband. Zhang Dandan was wrong.
Her husband was not such a shallow person.
It seemed they could no longer let Zhang Dandan stay here.
After Lin Wan saw what happened in the morning, she thought if Lin Wan asked, she’d just say the women’s toilet in the front yard was occupied. Just using the toilet, how could that be an issue?
Despite this, Zhang Dandan was aware of her own intentions. Facing Lin Wan and Han Yi, she always felt guilty.
Zhang Dandan simply stopped going to Lin Wan’s courtyard for the next couple of days, instead staying in her room reading storybooks.
Lin Wan told Liang Hongmei about this, and Liang Hongmei got angry and wanted to grab Zhang Dandan for a beating. But without evidence, it was hard to accuse her of anything.
A woman shamelessly targeting her son and son-in-law, Liang Hongmei wasn’t going to let her succeed.
The baby was already five days old, and on the twelfth day, they would need to hold a banquet.
Liang Hongmei wasn’t idle either. After this incident, she felt Zhang Dandan was now the biggest headache.
Around five in the afternoon, Liang Hongmei thought her in-law should be coming back, so she told Lin Wan she’d stay at home for a while. They could handle anything when the mother-in-law got back, and took Zhang Dandan to the store.
She needed to make proper arrangements for Zhang Dandan.
Could not let her wander around the house every day.
With nobody at home, Little Star was full of excitement. She had been urinating and pooping.
Lin Wan cleaned her up, then held her and fed her until she was full.
Not able to leave the house, Lin Wan held Little Star and walked back and forth between the living room and bedroom. Getting a bit of exercise.
Before long, Mom came back from work.
This time Uncle Hu and Hu Dong also came along.
"Oh, let Grandpa hold our granddaughter!" Hu Bin happily wanted to hold Little Star as soon as he entered the room, but Shen Qing rolled her eyes at him, "Do you know how to hold a baby?"
"Well..."
Seeing Hu Bin’s awkward expression, Shen Qing knew he was at a loss and didn’t tease him. She took the baby from Lin Wan’s arms and placed her in Hu Bin’s. Meanwhile, Hu Dong, standing nearby, dumbly stared at the little baby in the blanket, blinking and repeatedly saying, "She’s so tiny."
He kept teasing Little Star, calling him Uncle!
Han Yi went out to handle some matters and returned with a cradle in his hand. People here like to hang cradles from the roof beam, so they can sit on the brick bed and rock the cradle from time to time to soothe the baby while they work. Han Yi found it convenient to walk in and wasn’t surprised to see both Hu Bin and Hu Dong. He greeted them, "Uncle."
Hu Bin asked about the situation and learned that a banquet was planned for the baby.
The two sat in the living room and chatted for a while.
Hu Dong took the cradle from Han Yi and helped Saozi hang it on the beam above the brick bed.
Curiously, Lin Wan placed the baby inside to try it out. It was quite nice.
Little Star lay inside, and Hu Dong gently rocked her twice. She made sounds and opened her big eyes, clearly happy.
In the evening, when Brother got off work, Brother Congnan also came.
Both of them had just started at their new jobs and dared not slack off for a single day. They were busy adapting to the new work.
The liquor factory relied entirely on Li Jianye for support.
Brother said he plans to recruit a few more people to set up a research and development studio dedicated to developing new products. Their few liquors had been sold for two years already, and it’s time to add new products.
They also need to hire an accountant.
When Li Congnan arrived, he was carrying a bag of eggs, prepared for her by Mrs. Li. As an unmarried young guy, Li Congnan naturally didn’t understand these things.
In the evening, Liang Hongmei and Zhang Dandan didn’t come back. Shen Qing cooked a few dishes, and several men drank together.
Li Congnan couldn’t hold his liquor and was drunk after just a couple of drinks, so Lin Yinghui decided not to let him leave.
He called the Li Family to let them know.
Uncle Hu was in a good mood today. He called Little Star his granddaughter and Han Yi didn’t object when Uncle Hu mentioned wanting his old friends to join in the festivities. This showed Han Yi considered him half a father. Could he not be happy? In a moment of pride, he drank a little more.
Han Yi, fearing Hu Dong couldn’t handle him alone, had Shen Qing go back with him as well.
Little Star was very quiet. Newly born babies tend to eat frequently and hardly sleep well through the night.
The weather was hot, and Lin Wan couldn’t sleep well either.
Tonight it was just the two of them; after Han Yi cleaned up the living room, he brought a basin of warm water and, out of habit, washed his daughter’s face, little hands, and cleaned her bottom.
After washing, he applied some talcum powder under her arms.
Little Star seemed to enjoy face-washing very much; every time her face was washed, the little one would open her eyes.
"Haha, this little girl really knows how to enjoy it. I want to wash too," Lin Wan stood in the room, watching her daughter’s enjoyment, and suddenly felt the smell on her own body was unbearable.
In the height of summer, even thinking about using a fan was pointless, let alone actually fanning oneself a few times. It was really torturous.
"You can’t, darling. Just hold on a little longer," Han Yi knew where his wife was uncomfortable, but for her health, it was okay to be a little dirty.
Lin Wan couldn’t argue and knew the reason; she just sighed helplessly.
As was her habit, she walked back and forth between the rooms to exercise. She didn’t want to lie in bed all the time eating, gaining weight during her postpartum month.
Although she hadn’t weighed herself, she knew she was definitely much heavier than before.
When their daughter woke up, Han Yi dealt with her for a while, indulgently cradling Little Star and walked back and forth in the room with Lin Wan.
Lying in bed, Han Yi placed the baby on the innermost side, lying on the outer side, hugging his wife.
"Xiao Wan, when I come back next time..." Han Yi’s gaze was so warm it made Lin Wan’s face flush.
"When are you leaving?" Lin Wan, her face red, bit her lip and smiled, knowing exactly how he was feeling.
"I have to leave after the banquet... Once you’ve finished your postpartum month, I’ll bring you and the baby to the barracks for two months. Is that okay?" He couldn’t bear to leave the child and wanted to see the mother and daughter every day.
Lin Wan thought for a while. July and August would be just the summer break, of course.
"Okay, once I’ve finished my postpartum month, you can come pick me up."
"Alright."
