Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance
Chapter 174 Sample Clothes
CHAPTER 174: CHAPTER 174 SAMPLE CLOTHES
Xie Qingyi walked out of Wang Yuan’s room with a smile, gently closing the door behind her.
Wang Yuan’s dad quickly stepped forward.
"Is the girl okay?"
Xie Qingyi said nothing, pulling him into their room.
She relayed the conversation she had with Wang Yuan to Wang Yuan’s dad.
"Gu Yi is really something; he’s always looking out for our Yuanyuan with good opportunities."
Wang Yuan’s dad only knew Gu Yi as his daughter Wang Yuan’s good friend.
He never expected him to secure such opportunities for Wang Yuan.
Although Xie Qingyi didn’t say anything, she shared the same thoughts as Wang Yuan’s dad.
Gu Yi wasn’t a local, so his network wasn’t as extensive as theirs.
Moreover, her friend needed design sketches, and she introduced Wang Yuan.
In a sense, they were competitors.
If someone had ulterior motives, they might hold back when it comes to matters involving interests.
What they didn’t know was that Gu Yi’s friend who needed design sketches was actually herself.
While Wang Yuan was working hard on her design sketches,
Gu Yi’s designed samples had already been completed.
After Li Yitian got the samples, he quickly called Gu Yi at noon.
He asked her to come to the store to see the clothes.
After answering the phone, Gu Yi didn’t even bother to rest.
She quickly rushed to the store.
Seeing the sample after sketching the design definitely feels different.
Gu Yi held the sample in her hands, overflowing with excitement.
This was her first batch of designed clothes.
"You’re the designer, why don’t you do the arranging?"
Li Yitian said with a smile, seeing how reluctant she was to let go.
"Sure, but I’ll be taking a set home later."
She definitely wanted to keep a set as a memento.
"I knew you’d do that, so to keep the store stocked, I made two sets in your size."
Li Yitian looked like he had anticipated it.
"Then I won’t hold back."
Gu Yi said happily.
"My instinct tells me these clothes will sell well, but the final result depends on whether the customers will buy it."
Li Yitian said, holding the other set of clothes.
"Hey, there’s something I need to tell you."
Instead of responding to Li Yitian, Gu Yi brought up something different.
"Oh, what is it?"
"I have a classmate named Wang Yuan; she came to the store once. I was drawing design sketches that day, she watched and made some suggestions. I thought she had a talent for design, so I told her you wanted to launch your clothing brand. I encouraged her to draw some designs and told her I’d bring her to meet you. Don’t sell me out, okay?"
Gu Yi joked as she finished.
"Sure, why not?"
Li Yitian thought it was something big.
"If you think her designs are good when the time comes, I’d like her to join us. I also talked to her that day; she has a real design dream. Her drawing skills are better than mine, and her fashion sense is sharper too."
Gu Yi shared her observations of Wang Yuan with Li Yitian.
"For you to praise her so highly, I’m eager to see her designs now."
Li Yitian knew that for a clothing brand to excel, it must have a strong edge from the start.
Gu Yi stayed until almost class time, then headed directly to the classroom.
After school in the afternoon, she went to the store to pick up clothes and casually asked the clerk if any of her clothes had been sold.
The clerk shook her head at her.
Saying she wasn’t disappointed would be a lie, but Gu Yi believed there would eventually be a patron to appreciate her work.
By Friday, Ye Qian’s shop was fully set up.
On Saturday, the Ye Family turned out in full force to clean up the entire store.
So Gu Yi didn’t have time to visit Jingying Second Store.
In the evening, when Gu Yi was at home having dinner with them, the phone rang.
Gu Yi quickly went to answer it.
She wondered if it was Ye Hao calling.
"Gu Yi, the clothes you designed sold out at both stores today, and many have pre-ordered, all paid deposits."
The moment Gu Yi picked up, she heard Li Yitian’s excited voice over the line.
"Really?"
After listening, Gu Yi could hardly believe her ears.
"Yes, really. I’ve already called the factory for mass production."
Li Yitian seemed to fear that she wouldn’t believe him, so he spoke loudly over the phone.
"Okay, I’ll finish my meal and come by to take a look. Which store are you at now, the first store?"
"Yeah, the first store. Many people have placed orders here, and thanks to your clothes, today’s sales were exceptionally high."
They chatted a little more before hanging up.
"Sis-in-law, whose call was it? Is there good news?"
Ye Qian asked curiously, seeing Gu Yi return with such a happy look.
"It was a call from Yitian; he said the store did especially well today and was calling to share the news."
Gu Yi replied with a smile, then sat back down to continue eating her meal.
"When I first met Yitian, I thought he was just a boy pampered by his family, and I was skeptical of his store’s prospects. But, surprisingly, he’s lucky and willing to work hard; his business has been improving."
Ye’s mother commented as she ate, recalling her initial impression of Li Yitian.
Gu Yi recalled her own first impression of Li Yitian, which was similar to Ye’s mother’s.
She couldn’t believe how time had flown by, as they had been working together for over two years.
Gu Yi wanted to share her happiness with Ye Hao.
She wondered how his missions were progressing out there.
After dinner, Gu Yi quickly went to the store.
The staff all knew that the clothes were her designs.
So when Gu Yi walked in, everyone congratulated her.
Which made Gu Yi feel a bit embarrassed.
She looked over the day’s sales and found they were higher than any previous weekend.
There were also pre-order payments from some customers.
"Why are these customers pre-ordering?"
Gu Yi asked the clerk, pointing at the names of the pre-ordering customers on the notebook.
"Some came and didn’t find their size available, so they pre-ordered, and others came in because they saw someone else wearing it."
Gu Yi thought perhaps some people bought them, showed them to others, and that brought the customers in.
It also served as an advertisement for her.
Gu Yi stayed until the store closed before heading home slowly.
She looked up at the round moon quietly hanging in the sky, thinking today was the fifteenth.
She wondered if Ye Hao had a chance to look up at the moon.
When Gu Yi got home, the Ye Family were all chatting in the living room.
"Yiyi, we plan to move the store’s machines over the day after tomorrow."
Ye Fu said as she walked in.
"Sure! The sooner we move them, the sooner the store can open. Have you arranged with the truck driver?"
Gu Yi didn’t have any objections.
"Yes, it’s all set. Is there anything you want to send to your parents? You can prepare it tomorrow."
Ye’s mother added, noticing Gu Yi seemed to miss her parents a bit.
That’s why they mentioned it early so she could prepare.
