Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance
Chapter 32 Encountering Yang Lin
CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 32 ENCOUNTERING YANG LIN
Ye Hao went back to the base and went straight to find Li Yifan: "Captain, I want to request three days’ leave."
"Are you accompanying your wife?"
"Yes, they’re staying for three days, and I want to take them out for a walk."
"I can approve the leave, after all your wife is here, I understand. But after returning to duty, you need to train hard. Although you’re going to the military academy in two months, there’s an exercise next month. You need to have a brilliant closure before going to the academy. It will benefit your future development, understood."
"Yes, I guarantee the completion of the task." Ye Hao solemnly saluted Li Yifan.
Ye Hao knew how good Li Yifan was to him. Apart from his own efforts, he couldn’t have gotten to where he was today without Li Yifan’s support.
At this time, if he were rational, he should train well in the army, but Gu Yi had a hard time coming this time.
Originally thinking about parting, he couldn’t help but seize the opportunity to perform well this time, so he decided to be a little headstrong this once.
Early the next morning, Ye Hao carried the buns and porridge he got from the cafeteria and knocked on the door of Gu Yi’s room. Both of them were already up.
"Come quickly, have some buns, the buns in our cafeteria are the best."
Ye Qian heard her brother say they were delicious, so she quickly picked one up to try.
"They are really good, and they’re meat-filled."
Gu Yi drank a glass of water and started eating too.
"Have you eaten?" Gu Yi asked, seeing Ye Hao standing there not eating.
"I ate in the morning before coming. You guys enjoy."
"Later, should we just wait at the gate for the bus? When’s the last bus returning?"
Gu Yi wanted to confirm the return time of the bus to plan accordingly.
"I’ll accompany you later, I’ve taken leave these days."
"Didn’t you say you wouldn’t take leave? You should handle your stuff, and we won’t get lost or anything."
Gu Yi thought it was unnecessary, knowing that Ye Hao and the others were busy and strict. In the previous life, he too didn’t visit home much.
"Sister-in-law, isn’t my brother just worried about you? Anyway, he’s already taken leave, so he might as well go with us. At least we have a free laborer."
Ye Qian quickly helped Ye Hao, her brother didn’t have much time at home usually, so now that they were here, shouldn’t they seize the opportunity to cultivate feelings?
Gu Yi didn’t mean anything else, but she was just afraid they would bother Ye Hao. Since the siblings both said so, she didn’t feel conflicted anymore. Besides, as Ye Qian said, there was a free strong laborer.
"Alright, let’s go together then."
Ye Hao stood behind Gu Yi and gave Ye Qian a thumbs up.
The buns from the cafeteria were big and substantial, and Ye Hao brought three for each of them.
Ye Qian finished all three of hers. Gu Yi, who had been dieting and had a smaller stomach, despite the buns being tasty, struggled with two, and couldn’t eat the last one.
"I really can’t eat anymore, why don’t you have it?"
The last bun wouldn’t be good cold for the next meal, and knowing Ye Hao’s appetite, although he had eaten, he could still have a bun.
Seeing Gu Yi was really full, Ye Hao quickly finished the remaining bun in a few bites.
After eating, the three of them walked towards the crossroads to wait for the bus. Ye Qian held Gu Yi’s arm and walked in front, while Ye Hao followed behind watching them chat and laugh.
"Captain Ye, what a coincidence, are you also heading to the city?"
Approaching the crossroads, someone greeted Ye Hao. The three turned around and Ye Qian recognized Yang Lin, who also spotted Ye Qian.
"Qianqian, when did you get here? If we hadn’t met today, I would’ve missed you. Why didn’t Captain Ye mention it to me, I could have shown you around."
Yang Lin seemed genuinely happy. It was Gu Yi’s first time seeing Yang Lin.
Previously it was all hearsay, including in the previous life, when she joined the army three years later, Yang Lin had already transferred.
Gu Yi didn’t say anything. She just stood aside watching. Yang Lin was slender and gave off a neighborly girl vibe, speaking with enthusiasm and openness.
"No worries, my sister-in-law and I just came to visit my brother, didn’t mean to trouble you. Besides, my brother already took leave for his wife, and we’re just going to have some fun. We appreciate your kindness."
Ye Qian spoke, not letting go of Gu Yi’s arm, and only then did Yang Lin notice Gu Yi, her smile froze momentarily.
"Is this sister-in-law? Sorry, I hadn’t noticed you earlier."
Such a big person standing by, how could she not see? She originally thought Ye Hao had a one-sided crush on her, but today it seemed like Yang Lin genuinely liked Ye Hao.
She must have guessed her identity already and looked down on her rural background, pretending not to see. She just wanted to earn points in front of Ye Hao.
Gu Yi didn’t play along, just smiled at her without speaking.
This wasn’t what Yang Lin expected. A country girl unfamiliar with the outside world, her words were rather imposing. Shouldn’t she have been nervous and said it was okay?
She just smiled as if she didn’t understand, or didn’t care at all. Yang Lin felt a sinking heart and prepared to say more.
"The bus is here, let’s get on." Ye Hao moved to Gu Yi’s side as he spoke.
Ye Hao secured Gu Yi and the others onto the bus first.
There weren’t many people today. Everyone in their group got seats. As Ye Hao boarded last, seats were already mostly filled.
Gu Yi and Ye Qian sat together, with an empty seat next to Yang Lin. As Ye Hao boarded, Yang Lin was ready to call him over.
"Brother, sit with sister-in-law, and I’ll chat with Sister Yang Lin." Ye Qian offered her seat, moving next to Yang Lin.
"Sister Yang Lin, let’s have a chat." Ye Qian said as she moved toward Yang Lin.
"Sure, I would love that. Come, sit." Yang Lin patted the seat next to her.
"Are you hot? Want to open the window a bit?"
Ye Hao noticed some sweat on Gu Yi’s nose, "Not really, but opening the window would be nice, the morning breeze should feel pleasant."
Gu Yi said, trying to open the window but couldn’t move it.
"Let me do it, the window is likely stuck with dust inside."
Ye Hao raised his arms and encircled Gu Yi to pull open the window. Gu Yi leaned against the window, blocking Ye Hao’s view, but leaning his way felt like she was throwing herself at him, making her freeze.
Finally, as Ye Hao opened the window and settled back into the seat.
Gu Yi’s face flushed red. Ye Hao’s heart was pounding too, with Gu Yi’s hair blown and brushing against his face, smelling sweet, tickling like feathers on his heart, wanting to grasp it tightly, yet unsure how to reach it.
Although Yang Lin was chatting with Ye Qian, she was paying attention to Gu Yi and Ye Hao.
Seeing their reddened faces, she felt a bolder weighing down her heart.
Ye Qian noticed her distraction, followed her gaze to Ye Hao and Gu Yi.
"Those two are still shy around each other, even though they’re already married, aren’t they funny?" she said, nudging Yang Lin’s arm.
