"I also heard it from one of the customers who came to the restaurant for a meal once."

Gu Yi quickly found an excuse.

But Liang Yesheng could tell right away that Gu Yi wasn’t telling the truth. He didn’t want to dig deeper, as everyone has some secrets they aren’t willing to share with others.

"Oh, okay, thank you. If you hear anything more like this in the future, you can tell me, and I won’t let your information go unrewarded. How about that?"

Liang Yesheng chuckled over there.

"Okay, okay, absolutely, absolutely. Goodbye then."

Gu Yi knew that Liang Yesheng didn’t believe her explanation, so she quickly hung up the phone.

In the evening, Gu Yi calculated Ye Hao’s schedule and gave him a call.

She stated her name, and the person on the other side said they’d call him over and asked her to call back later, then hung up.

Gu Yi waited ten minutes before calling back again.

The same person answered. Gu Yi stated her name again, and the person said to wait a moment.

Soon, Ye Hao’s voice came through.

"Hello, this is Ye Hao."

Gu Yi handed the phone to Ye’s mother beside her.

"Hao Hao, it’s me. This phone is at home, installed today, so remember the number."

"Okay, Mom, how’s your health been?"

"Good, everything at home is good, don’t worry about us."

Ye Family members took turns speaking with Ye Hao, mainly reminding each other to take care of their health.

"Brother, talk to sis-in-law."

Ye Qian knew her brother was concerned about her sister-in-law and was impatient to talk to her, so she passed the phone to Gu Yi.

The three of them, worried that Gu Yi would feel awkward talking with them there, returned to their rooms.

"Ye Hao, it’s me."

"I know, Yiyi, are you tired lately?"

Ye Hao wondered about Gu Yi’s expression while asking.

"It’s okay, not too tired, I have Mom, Dad, and Qianqian helping me. How about you, have you been okay lately?"

Ye Hao had been at school for half a month. He wrote a letter when he first arrived, mentioning his schedule at school.

He was busy adjusting to school and hadn’t written again since.

Ye Hao mentioned some interesting things to Gu Yi.

Gu Yi also briefly shared what she’d been up to.

Finally, Gu Yi mentioned Liang Yesheng to Ye Hao.

Even though Ye Hao was a bit worried she might get scammed, he chose to trust Gu Yi and said nothing.

"Yiyi."

"Hmm."

After Gu Yi responded, there was silence on the phone for a while.

"I really miss you."

Just as Gu Yi was about to check if there was something wrong with the phone, she heard that sentence from the other end.

"Me too."

Gu Yi finished, her face blushing.

"Keep it up, okay?"

Ye Hao said a seemingly unrelated phrase.

It took Gu Yi a moment to react.

"You should be the one keeping it up."

"Alright, we’ll both keep it up."

Ye Hao finished and laughed on the other end of the line.

Gu Yi was in a good mood too.

"By the way, a few days ago, Li Yitian sent his brother to ask how to contact you; seems like he needs your advice on something. Can I give him this number?"

Before hanging up, Ye Hao suddenly remembered but wanted to ask about Gu Yi’s opinion first.

"Sure, it’s probably about his store."

If Ye Hao hadn’t mentioned it today, she would have forgotten that she promised to help Li Yitian.

"Okay, take care of yourself at home, I’m hanging up now."

"Alright, you too."

After Gu Yi finished the call with Ye Hao, she didn’t think much about it.

A few days later, after Ye Fu finished his nap, he came to the store to tell Gu Yi that someone named Li Yitian called for her.

"Oh, Dad, he’s Ye Hao’s leader’s brother. I met him with Qianqian when we visited Ye Hao; he probably needs something, so Ye Hao gave him this number."

Gu Yi saw that although Ye Fu didn’t ask, he kept looking at her, probably guessing who it was and why they were calling.

She quickly explained to Ye Fu.

"Yes, last time sis-in-law and I helped him with something and he gave us two hundred yuan."

Ye Qian quickly vouched for her after hearing what Gu Yi said.

"Oh, I thought his accent didn’t sound local, and I was wondering how you knew him. I told him to call back after dinner."

Ye Fu, after hearing Ye Qian, quickly explained, fearing Gu Yi might have concerns.

After explaining, he went off to do his own things.

Gu Yi found Ye Fu’s shy retreat rather amusing.

After finishing the evening’s work at the store, Gu Yi went home to take Li Yitian’s call.

As she reached the courtyard gate, she heard the phone ringing.

She quickly found her keys to unlock the door, but the ringing stopped by the time she got inside.

She turned to get a glass of water, and the phone rang again.

She picked up, just managed to say hello when she heard Li Yitian’s anxious voice from the receiver.

"Is this Gu Yi? I’ve been calling several times, I was so anxious."

Perhaps knowing that Ye Hao and Li Yifan were comrades and having recently had a meal together, Li Yitian dropped his formalities around Gu Yi.

He revealed his youthful nature directly.

"What’s going on? You seem urgent to find me. I just got home."

"Well, isn’t it almost sales season? I wanted to ask when you’d be free to come over and help me with the store’s clothing arrangements."

Gu Yi’s previous arrangements for his clothes sold really well. He tried arranging for autumn himself afterward.

Though they sold better than other stores, they still weren’t as good as Gu Yi’s arrangements.

He wasn’t sure how to handle the winter clothes, as prior sales were underwhelming.

New Year and Spring Festival were coming, peak sales seasons, and he didn’t want to miss out, so he thought to call upon Gu Yi for help.

Gu Yi considered that school would soon be on winter break, and the store wouldn’t be too busy.

Plus, Ye Qian had picked up the ropes, so it wouldn’t be a problem for her to be away for a while.

"Then I’ll find a time to visit B City."

Gu Yi thought she could also visit Ye Hao since he wouldn’t be coming home for the New Year.

"Great, just bring someone over, and I’ll handle the rest; I promise everything will be perfectly arranged."

Li Yitian immediately showed his sincerity upon hearing that Gu Yi could come over.

"Judging by your tone, Boss Li, you’ve been making quite a bit recently."

Gu Yi found interacting with Li Yitian felt like dealing with a kid.

Despite being older, he was likely spoiled at home, both smart and innocent.

Interacting with him made people naturally lower their guard.

"Alright, in a few days, I’ll arrange things at home and call you before heading over."

"Okay, take my number down, I’ll be waiting."

After the call, Gu Yi put away the paper with Li Yitian’s number, thinking she should discuss this with Ye Family’s parents.

When she got to the store, the three Ye Family members were preparing for the next morning’s business.
