Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance
Chapter 61: Unconcealable Affection
CHAPTER 61: CHAPTER 61: UNCONCEALABLE AFFECTION
Li Yitian took them to a century-old restaurant.
Perhaps because it was the weekend, or maybe due to the reputation of the century-old restaurant, it was particularly crowded inside.
Fortunately, Gu Yi and the others arrived relatively early, so there were still seats available in the restaurant.
Just as Gu Yi and the others sat down, a waiter brought the menu over.
Li Yitian directly ordered the dishes.
He knew that Li Yifan and Ye Hao, coming from the military, were likely not picky eaters, and this might be Gu Yi’s first time trying the food here.
So, he took the liberty of ordering some of the restaurant’s specialties.
"I ordered some specialty dishes, let me know which ones you like, and we can order more."
After ordering, Li Yitian explained to Gu Yi.
"Sounds good."
Gu Yi smiled at Li Yitian.
Actually, Gu Yi had eaten here in a past life; the taste was quite good, and she really liked it.
Before the dishes were served, Li Yitian stood up.
"Let’s go get some condiments."
After Li Yitian spoke, neither Ye Hao nor Gu Yi moved.
Gu Yi was hesitant to prepare any, fearing it might arouse suspicion among the others.
As for Ye Hao, he genuinely didn’t know how. Although he’d been here for several years, he hadn’t tried this kind of dining before.
Firstly, his leisure time was limited, and secondly, the cost of this type of dining was quite high, so he hadn’t indulged in it.
Another reason was that their daily training was intense, requiring more food than usual.
Slicing and cooking meat piece by piece was too time-consuming.
Li Yitian noticed they hadn’t moved.
"The sauce I prepared is delicious; you guys have to give me a chance, okay?"
He quickly grabbed Li Yifan’s hand holding the sauce bowl.
"Alright, then we’re counting on you."
Li Yifan knew that Li Yitian feared Ye Hao and Gu Yi would feel embarrassed, which made Li Yifan feel that Li Yitian had really matured.
Understanding how to care for others’ feelings without making it awkward.
After preparing the condiments, Li Yitian returned just as the ingredients were being served.
Li Yitian poured wine for Ye Hao and Li Yifan, and got milk for Gu Yi.
"Come on, brother, Ye Hao, Gu Yi, let’s toast."
Li Yitian raised his glass first.
"Ye Hao, sister-in-law, eat more."
Li Yifan urged them to eat.
"Yeah, eat more lamb; it’s warming."
Li Yitian echoed.
Ye Hao cooked the meat and served it first to Gu Yi.
Gu Yi smiled at him.
Ye Hao also smiled back at Gu Yi, then continued to cook the meat.
"Sister-in-law, you’re staying here for a while longer, right?"
"No, I plan to head back in the next few days. There’s a lot going on at home, and I can’t stay away for too long."
Gu Yi said as she ate.
Ye Hao listened and looked at Gu Yi.
He hadn’t asked Gu Yi about this, and maybe because they’d been meeting every day, hearing her say she was leaving suddenly left him with a feeling of reluctance.
But he didn’t say anything.
"Stay a few more days, I’ll accompany you since Ye Hao is busy; let’s go for a walk."
Li Yitian still wanted Gu Yi to teach him more, and he intended to fulfill his host duties.
"There’ll be opportunities in the future. I’ve been out for several days, and I don’t know how things are at home. I’ll visit your shop tomorrow since Ye Hao has to attend classes anyway."
Gu Yi turned to Ye Hao.
"Is that ok?"
"Sure, this way I won’t worry about you being bored at the hotel."
Ye Hao had no objections; as long as Gu Yi was happy.
"Brother, Ye Hao, Gu Yi and I are now partners, so let’s toast to that."
Li Yitian was quite happy talking about this.
Ye Hao had already heard from Gu Yi about this and had encouraged her.
Li Yifan was a bit surprised; he had heard from Li Yitian about Gu Yi’s exceptional fashion sense and didn’t expect them to collaborate so soon.
But looking at Gu Yi, despite her young age, she seemed mature and composed. He was pleased to see Li Yitian partnering with her.
"Congratulations to you both, work hard together in the future, okay?"
The latter was directed at Li Yitian.
"Don’t worry, I want to prove to my parents that I can succeed without following the path they set for me."
Saying this felt like he was encouraging himself, and he downed his drink in one go, despite it being 52% white liquor.
Just watching made Gu Yi feel the heat.
Li Yifan and Ye Hao watched him and laughed but said nothing.
They clinked their glasses lightly and finished their drinks.
Their table was mostly filled with Li Yitian’s voice, occasionally with Gu Yi’s responses.
Li Yifan and Ye Hao occasionally exchanged a few words. Due to being in a public place, they couldn’t discuss many things about the military, so they focused on eating and drinking.
After dinner, Li Yitian said he would pick up Gu Yi the next morning, and they parted ways.
"Why don’t you stay a little longer?"
On the way back to the hotel, Ye Hao couldn’t help but ask Gu Yi.
He had been thinking about this; he really didn’t want to part with Gu Yi.
Even though he didn’t have much time to spend with her, at least they could see each other every day.
"Are you reluctant to see me go?"
Gu Yi stopped and looked at Ye Hao.
Ye Hao also stopped, looking at Gu Yi.
After a while, he cleared his throat.
"Yes, I don’t want to part with you. What about you?"
Ye Hao was now very clear about his own feelings and suddenly wanted to know if Gu Yi felt the same way.
Gu Yi looked at Ye Hao, who was earnest and seemed slightly nervous, waiting for her answer.
At that moment, she had an impulse to drop everything and move to B City, never to part from him again.
Then, she was startled by her own thought.
"I don’t want to be apart from you either. Just hold on for two more years, and when you graduate, apply for military relocation, and I’ll come, okay?"
In the end, reason prevailed.
Ye Hao knew that asking Gu Yi to come now wasn’t realistic, feeling a bit disappointed but still smiling as he gently ruffled Gu Yi’s hair.
"Alright, wait for me two more years."
Gu Yi knew Ye Hao was feeling a bit reluctant.
"Let’s not make it so dramatic. I have a business relationship with Li Yitian now, and I promised to come back when the season changes, so we’ll have plenty of chances to meet."
Gu Yi ran from the opposite side of Ye Hao to his side, holding his arm and looking up at him.
Thinking about it, Ye Hao felt the same. Looking at Gu Yi hanging on his arm, his mood instantly improved, feeling warm and soft inside, as if caressed by feathers.
If they weren’t on a busy street, he would have certainly embraced her tightly and kissed her.
They say when you like someone, no matter how hard you try to hide it, the eyes can’t help but reveal the truth.
Gu Yi also felt Ye Hao’s affection; his gaze seemed as if it would melt her.
Feeling her face heat up, she dared not look back at him.
"Let’s go, time to return."
She lowered her head, nudging Ye Hao’s arm with her shoulder.
At this moment, she was completely different from how she usually appeared to others, calm and composed, which had now vanished.
Only her shyness remained, and her words sounded sweet as sugar to Ye Hao’s ears.
At this moment, Ye Hao felt his heart was about to burst, full of words but not knowing which to say first.
They were both surrounded by something called love in the air around them.
