Reborn in the 80s: The Smart Wife with a Secret Space
Chapter 22: Misunderstanding
CHAPTER 22: CHAPTER 22: MISUNDERSTANDING
She truly dared not delay for even a moment: "Child, go find a thin blanket or a thick adult’s coat, your brother might be in danger if he doesn’t get to the hospital soon."
Although she didn’t understand medicine, coming from the future, she knew very well what consequences a fever like this could have if untreated.
The little boy beside her turned and rummaged in the cupboard: "Sili."
Xinyan didn’t understand what he said until he repeated: "Ye Silai, my name is Ye Silai."
After speaking, he pulled out an army green blanket from the cupboard: "Will this work?"
The boy who was panicked before was now very calm.
Xinyan took the blanket and quickly wrapped the child: "Let’s go, hurry to the hospital."
It wasn’t until she had run a long way with the child in her arms that she remembered her Space Stream Water, but then thought that the child was already nearly delirious with fever. If that water didn’t work, it could delay the child’s treatment.
Looking back, she saw that the child named Ye Silai had already caught up.
So she dared not think of anything else and quickened her pace.
Upon arriving at the employee hospital, Xinyan shouted loudly: "Doctor, quickly save a life."
The doctor on duty happened to be passing through the lobby, saw her in this condition, and guessed that a child at home was sick.
He hurriedly ran over to them and, upon seeing the child’s condition inside the blanket, said: "Why are you only bringing him in now with such a high fever?"
Xinyan wanted to retort but knew it wasn’t the right time: "Doctor, please quickly examine this child."
The male doctor took the child from Xinyan’s arms and quickly entered the examination room upfront. After a thorough check, he said: "Fever caused by catching a cold, almost feverish to delirium before discovered, I really don’t know how you can be a parent?"
Following behind them, Ye Silai softly chimed in: "Uncle doctor, don’t blame this sister, she’s not the parent, I dragged her to help."
The male doctor felt a bit awkward after hearing this: "Well, uh, I didn’t know, I’m sorry."
Xinyan didn’t mind small things like this: "It’s okay, none of that matters, let’s help the child reduce his fever first."
The male doctor clearly didn’t expect Xinyan to be so understanding. Seeing the child’s fever-reddened cheeks, embarrassment was forgotten as he told the nurse beside him: "Nurse Li, this child caught a cold causing high fever, give him an antipyretic injection immediately; he can’t handle any more fever."
Nurse Li, who had just entered, heard the doctor’s order, responded with a nod, and went out to prepare.
The male doctor then instructed Xinyan: "After the injection, you can’t go home immediately. Wait until the child’s temperature comes down, observe him, and leave only when there are no problems. You’d better use warm water to repeatedly wipe the child’s body, that’ll help reduce the fever quickly."
At this moment, there was no way Xinyan could refuse and she had to answer: "Okay."
After finishing the instructions, the doctor said: "You go pay the bill first, the nurse will be here soon."
Xinyan had forgotten about the payment matter. While helping was fine, paying seemed a bit inappropriate since she was genuinely poor now. She couldn’t help but look towards Ye Silai: "Isn’t your uncle at the hospital? Sister will look after your brother first, but you need to find your uncle about the payment."
Ye Silai understood, turned around, and ran out, not forgetting to shout: "I’ll be right back."
Nurse Li came in with a tray and looked at Xinyan, who was staring at the child: "Has the payment been made?"
Xinyan shook her head upon hearing the question: "Not yet, please give the child the antipyretic injection first, the payment will be settled soon."
