CHAPTER 633: CHAPTER 633: IT’S TIME TO TEACH THEM A LESSON
Xinyan was worried that her senior sister might not be able to stand up for herself and would be bullied again. "Madam, what shift is my senior sister on these days?"
Madam Cheng Liying pushed the tea snacks towards her. "She’s on the day shift lately, but she’s not in the department. She’s been at the outpatient clinic this week. Are you planning to visit her?"
Xinyan nodded lightly. "I’ll go see her tomorrow at noon."
Madam slightly frowned and said, "The hospital isn’t exactly close to your school. If you go, you might miss your classes."
Xinyan had already thought about it. Her senior sister’s hospital wasn’t far from where her dad worked, so she might as well drop by and give him a surprise visit.
What she didn’t know was that right then, Han Jingchen had called the school and couldn’t find her.
As they were talking, the phone in the living room rang.
After a while, they heard Mr. Du calling out, "Xinyan, your dad is looking for you."
Xinyan got up, walked outside, and picked up the receiver. "Hello, Dad, why did you call?"
Hearing his daughter’s question, Han Jingchen instantly got a bit upset. "If you don’t call, can’t I call you instead?"
Xinyan hurriedly appeased him. "Dad, don’t blame me; I was just preparing a surprise for you."
Hearing that his daughter was planning a surprise for him, Han Jingchen’s expression softened. "Really? Can you give me a little hint?"
Xinyan directly refused. "If I tell you in advance, it won’t be a surprise."
Seeing that his daughter wasn’t falling for it, Han Jingchen asked, "Why weren’t you at school today?"
Xinyan explained the events of the afternoon. "Dad, were you missing me?"
Han Jingchen didn’t directly admit it, but the smile on his lips made it clear to anyone that he was in a good mood. "A comrade from Inner Mongolia sent some mutton and beef over. I asked your Uncle Su to have someone deliver some to you so you can share it with your master’s family."
Hearing this, Xinyan felt warm inside. "Dad, did you keep some for yourself?"
Previously, when others sent him beef jerky, he didn’t keep any for himself and sent it all to her. It was only when Uncle Su accidentally mentioned it that she found out.
Han Jingchen knew his daughter’s thoughts. "Don’t worry, Dad kept some this time. If you weren’t so far away and if you didn’t have to attend classes at your master’s place tonight, I’d visit you for dinner."
Xinyan suddenly said, "Dad, when the weather warms up next year, let’s renovate the side room and set up another room. That way, when you want to come over, you’ll have a place to stay."
Hearing his daughter’s suggestion, Han Jingchen felt a wave of comfort in his heart. "Sure, I’ll listen to my young lady."
Thinking about the recent snowfall and the difficult roads, Xinyan said, "Dad, why don’t I ask Uncle Su to set aside a portion of the meat and send it directly to my master’s place?"
Han Jingchen slapped his forehead. "Look at me, I was so busy I forgot it was snowing. The roads are bad. Alright, don’t worry about it."
They chatted for a while longer before hanging up. Xinyan saw that her master was still reading the newspaper. "Master, someone will be over soon to deliver the mutton and beef. On such a cold day, lamb soup is the best."
Mr. Du looked up at her. "If you don’t memorize and thoroughly understand the notes on the table today, even if someone delivers dragon meat, it won’t help."
Xinyan pouted. "Got it."
It seemed that Meng Yifei really angered her master; he still hadn’t calmed down and was lashing out at everyone.
She decided to meet her senior sister tomorrow to get the full story and would find an opportunity to teach that guy a lesson.
As she turned to leave, Mr. Du had a gleam of amusement in his eyes. How could he not know that his little disciple was trying to distract him? But he had only accepted five beloved disciples in his lifetime.
They were like his own children. The Meng Family had hurt Gu Qing deeply, and even after the divorce, they didn’t leave her alone, which naturally enraged him.
He hadn’t dealt with the Meng Family before out of respect for Gu Qing, but now he’d changed his mind. He should never have had any expectations for people with such character.
Seeing Xinyan had returned to the study, he sat on the sofa and made a call. "Hello, it’s about time the Meng Family received a lesson."
