Reborn into the 70: Turning Adversity into Her Dazzling Path
Chapter 417: Choked
CHAPTER 417: CHAPTER 417: CHOKED
"Speak up, what’s going on?" After finally pulling Yao Jingsong aside, Gu Lingling asked in a secluded place, "So, that guy named Zhou Baozhu originally intended to frame you?"
"Yeah, he tampered with the car he was driving." Yao Jingsong played with his fingers while speaking.
This "he" naturally referred to Gu Chunhai.
"I see." Gu Lingling looked at Yao Jingsong, who had his head down, "You fought well today. If I had known, I wouldn’t have pulled you out so early. You should have kicked him a few more times."
Yao Jingsong looked up at Gu Lingling, "If someone hadn’t warned me, things might not be like this now."
"It’s her again, isn’t it?" asked Gu Chunhai, who hadn’t spoken until then.
Neither of them made a sound.
After a long while, Gu Lingling finally said, "Dad, this is something among us kids, you don’t need to worry about it. We’ll handle it ourselves."
Gu Chunhai was caught in the middle and couldn’t do much.
"What should we do?" Yao Jingsong asked excitedly.
"Let me think." Gu Lingling said.
The reason Gu Juan is so rampant now is because she relies on Zheng Peng’s affection for her, right? Without Zheng Peng, she didn’t believe Gu Juan’s claws could reach that far; a department store salesgirl interfering in transformer factory matters?
So...
Gu Lingling beckoned to Yao Jingsong and whispered a few words in his ear.
"Got it, leave this small matter to me." Yao Jingsong patted his chest, spared an awkward glance at Gu Chunhai, and then ran off.
Gu Chunhai smiled, "Whatever you do, make sure to protect yourself."
Gu Lingling nodded.
"If you really like her, then..." Zhou Qing said to Tang Wei from a distance.
"Who likes her? Stop talking nonsense." Tang Wei interrupted before he could finish, "I’m just curious about what might happen. I don’t want our Engineering Department’s reputation to be tarnished again."
"Tang Wei, if you keep this up, you’ll regret it." Zhou Qing said helplessly.
Clearly, he liked her, yet he still put on a stubborn facade. With Gu Lingling being so exceptional, if he continued like this, someone else would definitely get ahead of him.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about." Tang Wei pushed a notebook into Zhou Qing’s hands, "Return this to her for me. I’m heading off first."
After speaking, he surprisingly appeared somewhat flustered as he left hurriedly.
Zhou Qing shook his head, choosing not to interrupt the father-daughter conversation, and figured he could return the notebook back at the office.
But his good friend here really had no idea what he was struggling with.
Gu Lingling, however, was unaware that the ever-dismissive Tang Wei had taken a liking to her. Even if she knew, she would just chuckle it off.
Tang Wei?
Let’s forget about it.
Yang Yunhai might also be cold and proud, yet he gives off a totally different vibe compared to Tang Wei. She wasn’t a masochist; it was exhausting enough to work as colleagues with someone like Tang Wei, let alone being partners.
And after splitting from Zhou Qing, Tang Wei kept pondering the issue and had to admit that he truly liked Gu Lingling.
When Gu Lingling returned to the office, she noticed something seemed different today.
She glanced at Liu Zhi, who at that moment was winking at her.
"What’s up?" Gu Lingling asked curiously.
"That arrogant guy actually talked to me today, and he wasn’t even sarcastic." Liu Zhi said in surprise.
"Isn’t that great? Or do you just love being mistreated?" Gu Lingling chuckled softly.
"Who said that?" Liu Zhi rolled her eyes at her, "And those cookies the other day, they were actually from him to you!"
Cough, cough...
Gu Lingling choked.
